This is the first Beatles song I've ever played in drop D tuning. I don't think many, if any, of their songs were written this way. This was just my best interpretation of it as a solo acoustic song. But hell, I don't know, they may have written a bunch of songs in this tuning. The Beatles were crazy. Crazy awesome.

John Lennon wrote the song for Timothy Leary who was going to run for Governor of California against Ronald Reagan. Leary's campaign ended when he was arrested for weed possession and he was never able to use the song. This allowed Lennon to record it for Abbey Road.
