Philippe Bugalski et Jean-Paul Chiaroni ont remporté le Rallye Catalunya Costa Brava et le Rallye Tour de Corse 1999 avec la Citroën Xsara Kit Car.
Voici notre petit hommage 10 ans après le décès de Philippe Bugalski, 12/06/1963 - 10/08/2012

I miss these kit cars so much. Easily my favorite rally cars of all time.
Bugalski (R. I. P.) and the Xsara.... Fantastic. I love Xsara and the French Maxis!
What a talent he was. Rest in Peace, Phillipe. The world of rallying would never forget your effort that you've did for Citroen Xsara and for it's successful three years of wins in WRC from 2003 to 2006. And also especially for the Citroen factory team, which had an absolutely epic journey from 2003 to 2012.
What happened to Phillipe?

If I recall correctly kit cars were lighter (roughly 1000kg) compared to their awd WRC counterpants (+-1300kg) and despite being only FWD the powertrain could be placed further back in the engine bay giving it a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. All of that + the master driving from Mr. Bugalsky is what made this car a tarmac beast!
More precisely Kit-Cars weighed 960 kg. That was near 300 kilos less than WRC cars (1230 kg)
@@maciekwysocki2009 In a sense they are kinda "watered down" version of group.B monsters.
lighter than WRC and wider: but only naturaly aspirated engines, so you need a perfect driving without any mistake to be as fast as a WRC. The perfect school for Loeb maybe?
En réalité c'est un moteur longitudinal donc pour la répartition on reste sur du 70/30 mais c'est déjà très bien pour une traction, c'est les 10800tr/min qui aident 😉
They were often faster than awd wrc on tarmac, so they eventually were punished with additional ballast

El cotxe era espectacular, dels més bonics... una linia brutal i una amplada impressionant. Sonaba de cullons. Que un Kit Car els hi passés la ma per la cara als WRC diu molt del cotxe però també del pilot. DEP.

J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer phillipe en 2005,par hasard avec le team citroen près du lac genin au dessus de nantua dans le 01 , sur les essaies de la C2 super 1600 !! Je n'en revenais pas! J'en garde un enorme souvenir !!😍😔 une semaine plus tot peugeot en essaie cramais un moteur !!

Questo qui mi faceva impazzire. Già solo il soprannome Bug. Poi come guidava queste Kit car. Bisognava avere un grande pelo. Qui in Italia non é arrivata a correre la Xsara kit a alti livelli. Probabilmente era priorità campionato francese. Sei stato un grande. Rip.

Incroyable machine cette Xsara kit car. Bugalski ne m'a pas impressionné en revanche. Jean-Joseph faisait mieux avec moins contre lui.
Il a gagné 2 Wrc, la ou Jean-Joseph n'a rien gagné (Subaru ou Ford en Pro), en 2000 en France Jean-Joseph avait une subaru ver 99 (du bon matos) et pourtant il a gagné aucun rallye face a Bug cette année la.
@@spawnx34212484 Je ne compte pas entrer dans un débat de sourd. C'est un constat. Bug gagnait dans une Citroën qui n'était rien de moins qu'un avion de chasse. La kit car comme la T4. Quand Jean-Jo faisait des miracles avec une 555 privée. Personne ne s'approchait de ce qu'il faisait contre les kit car. A l'époque c'était un secret pour personne ce que je dis là.
