A bit of a strange fight. It input reads you, so any time you do a light or start a heavy attack within a radius of the boss, it'll start an attack of its own. Which can both work for and against you. If you try to do multiple combos while in melee range, it'll nearly always counterattack you, making it a little unsafe to do so. Additionally, the moment you press the heavy attack within range of the boss, it'll counter you before you get the animation off. On the flipside, if you only weave in for an attack or two, it makes the boss incredibly easy and predictable to deal with. Especially so in the second phase. So this shows the safest way to do it.

I won't lie, all i could pay attention to during that whole fight was the physics of the water moving around.
No joke your gameplay has helped me to win the fight. I think the takeaway here is you need to keep the distance. If you time your dodge right the dude will miss and you'll be able to do a few hits before escaping.
Hitless fights often are better for learning a boss than many of the so called ‘guides’.
Hot off the tail of literal 7 hit combos of ER DLC bosses apparently those skills will be useful here too

Don’t you love the utterly pointless run from the checkpoint to the boss.
Looks like keeping this amount of distance until rolling into that charge attack is the key.

How do you have that red armour? I’m still with the first white tunic thingy.
Besides the perfect dodging, the key thing here is that you are dodging forward right next to him when he is charging at you so you can do a few hits in the back - over and over. I always dodge backwards or sideways getting too far to reach him. Thanks for the tip! I might be able to beat him after 2 days and a complete mental breakdown 😂
You made these bosses look so easy I was like ok they start up nope six hours in barely started chapter two it’s a fun game though. I always love your content 🙏🏽🙌🏽

thank you man, it took me a few tries after watching this but this helped a great deal. youve just got to stay out of his range and wait for those one or 2 seconds after he jabs at you to get some licks in. patience is key here, you wont do this battle fast. and for anyone whining about "difficulty settings" just get good, and stay away from Elden Ring 😂

I love pointless 30 second runs to boss fights in these type of games. What part of running to a boss over and over is supposed to be fun.
that run is a souls staple. really not that surprising or inconvenient if you're used to those games. and it isn't 30 seconds lmao, at full sprint its more like 7 seconds; truly not that big of a deal. There aren't even enemies you have to contend with for this boss, its just a straight shot
@@erua93 it’s a 30 second sprint, and I know it’s a souls staple and it’s always been pointless. It’s not a good thing just because it’s a thing that devs do a lot. its 30 seconds of running for no reason. Zero reason. Not a single reason to do that run multiple times.

The snake transformation is really wasted. Most of his attacks are from his first form and doesn’t physically do anything snake like or anything that uses his new form like a tail whip or coil up etc… so what’s the point?

The 2nd phase was more to stay in line with the Sun Whkong mythology i dont think it was meant to be hard considering its chapter 1

I noticed that too in Lies of P. The boss finishes their attack, then takes a few seconds to reload into their default stance, and pivot on their foot to do a new attack.
And yet I've seen people say every boss is unfair and that nobody should buy the game because of it. Bad players ruin games like this
