It’s super obvious on stream that removing the IGL role from Hal , has lifted his spirits. The dude is having a blast in scrims. It’s great to see ❤
Imagine the pressure lifted off this man’s shoulders… I’d imagine this is the most fun he’s had playing Apex in years.
Not one rage. He can just focus on his skill without being held down having to think for the other two and strategise. It’s a humbling move from him. He’s clearly better as a fragger than an IGL
Also it was a pain seeing his calls being ignored a lot of times in TSM.
Hal finished sentence with "He is way more aggressive than I am". First Zer0's sentence after that "PUSH PUSH PUSH" got me.

Hal is right about them not losing fights, only losing in specific circumstances, while rotating or if the entire server quite literally shoots at them, that's probably why they don't fight as much, they know their situation wouldn't have changed if they played better
I talk about this in Hal’s recent OPL scrims video. They get eliminated at #11 after wiping 3 teams in the same fight and all three start talking about how all the teams shooting at them weren’t even trying to look at the other teams next to them. The whole lobby just collectively had a truce until DZ was eliminated.
It’s the downfall of all great aggressive teams. Unfortunately they won’t but they definitely should consider circumstances before apeing. I’ve seen them ape a team while 2 teams at different angles are shooting them. Then they die and I’m like why did yall do that….i dunno.
Tbh the way he describe zero is exactly how tsm play when they have confidence. Tsm used to run at teams and 3v3 them for the spot, tsm won’t avoid fight. Late Tsm just lost confidence
It’s a skill issue. You can’t fake confidence. Yes maybe initially but if you keep failing the confidence is a lie to yourself. The difference in the teams is the competence of DZ right now strengthens the confidence. So it is a true confidence in their competence not just a “mind set”

@@unlimitedlimiter4285 the biggest difference between Hal and zero is that zero will push you unlike Hal who would try it out play you that's why he dominated so much back in the day back then making a mistake will get you insta killed no dome no mobile beacon that's why Hal was so good he never made mistakes but in these metas you need to risk it always forcing fights pushing while being heavily disadvantaged etc zero is always fearless

That’s what I was most impressed by. Knowing when to smoke people before they ask for it, knowing their heals/ammo feeding them ult accels
That was the first thing I noticed about him. He always looks at the whole team before he makes a decision.
Zero is in such a crazy powerful place right now he’s effectively Griffith with two Guts willing to run down anybody he says needs to die very scary stuff to play against

This team reminds me of Furia when Wattson was on it. They’ll kill every single team they come in contact with, but unlike old Furia they can actually win games on top of that.
Apart from just calling for fights. zer0 is in there with his team dealing damage getting kills too. Insane player...
All while on MnK. Too many MnK pros fall short of roller in 3v3s and 1v1s but he’s hanging in there really well.

Hal is so right about having good team mates and being aggressive. It makes the game so much more fun too. I mostly play solo pubs but for me most of the time having one really good team mates helps a lot but having two for me usually means I can IGL and be less aggressive or be a fragger instead of trying to be both. I know they are playing against the best players in the world but having team mates that good must be so fun.
When SoloQ you get mediocre teammates most of the time but every now and then you get teammates with which you just kill the servers with and win the game effortlessly. Whenever it happens it is always a blast.
he had good teamates but that were hesitant mainly cause of lack of leadership on hal part and reassuring them
@@LtKregorovIronically today I had great team mates and it was so easy. I had the most kills with an r99 and a havok but my team mate had way more damage than me sniping and we knew we were going to win while we were dropping cuz he said they already won two games in a row
The fact that hal says he hadn’t played with zero and he left tsm after winning two algs with them is wild zero on fuse is also very impressive they make such a good team together
Crazy as it sounds this is what comp needed. A big shakeup. And Hal no longer being IGL allows him to make some sick plays. Zero, though, is on a whole other level. Dudes wild.
TSM had this, the problem was Ravens' stragety. If TSM would have went Evan on aggressive legend, then they could have run down lobbies. Reps is a beast, and so is Evan. If they would have went with an aggressive team comp they could have done this as well, they did b4 but Raven changed the team comp and stragety. What DZ has now is basically a top 3 QB, a one of the other top 3 QBs who now plays reciever and is top notch at that too, and a top 3 rb. Having a reciever who used to play QB opens up offenses and you see it with DZ.

Seeing Hal on DZ with Zero & Gen is refreshing. I'm a TSM fan and sorry to all the TSM fans ( I like Hal playing with Evan & Jordan), but I guess DZ's composition is at it finest. Born of a new era. Let's see what they made of for upcoming tournaments. I'm so excited.
If they truly start to win everything, they are going to evolve the way the game is played. Everyone else in the lobby has to but their work shoes on and get gud in order to keep up. I cant wait to see how insane pro lobbies are going to look if a few teams evolve to play as good as DZ.

I'd say the new drop ship system came just in time to nerf the new DZ and give other teams a chance because if it was still the old drop ship system where the new DZ has certain POIs, they would be absolutely dominating even more than before, every team would be avoiding them, it'd be like the USA basketball team in the Olympics, they'd be expected to win 90% of the time
As an Aussie, my two teams I used to watch were Dark Zero and TSM. This is the dream merger for Aussie fans imo 😂

Hal def been outperforming gen off scrims, if they had evan instead of gen they would be getting the same placements as they have been..
Zero has been making great macro calls and Hal has been calling out repeatedly on micro moves/team positions, correctly predicting what teams near them will do and gen goes brrrr

Crazy to me how TSM kids need Hal to confirm how much better of a team DZ was than TSM over the past few months. Zero + Gen are the best duo in the game by a long shot.

The problem with tsm is that they can’t fight effectively. Might be a confidence issue. Either Evan or Jordan get knocked in a fight, always. They need to grind out their fighting because they used to not get knocked so easily. Evan needs to be more aggressive and trust his ability. Tsm also need a igl that can understand their macro and let Evan take a igl in the micro. Evan entry fragger is their best option

Debate : Who's better Gen or Evan (verhulst)
Verhulst has better roller mechanics but not to the point of it making a huge difference.
Gen gets less nervous too so that helps in pro league. Gen is also a bit better at switching characters for a meta. Verhulst himself has said he struggles on some legends and prefers characters like Cat and Valk over any character he’s played in the recent split.
Imo, in a strict 1v1 verhulst likely wins most of the time against gen, but in a team situation gen wins.

Kinda sad to say but I think if they replaced reps with a strong controller anchor they would have been just fine. Reps has been declining since that last ALGS win and IMO should have been retired already with the rest of the retired MnK anchors, his callouts and game sense, something is just delayed idk if thats older age or less care for the game but… Meh Hal just chose the better option to not destroy a friendship at the end of the day I guess.

Because apex is a job for them. The goal is to maximize earnings and winning. This is the best chance of winning. Apex players aren’t rich and it won’t last forever. Plus, he’s already the goat lol. He’s already exceeded the pressure. He can do whatever he wants. He doesn’t have to prove himself anymore
It’s not that deep. He played with Jordan and Verhulst for a while and felt like he needed a change. Tsm became lazy after their year 3 performance
at the end of the day its a competition, you want to be the best and you want to win and its more likely to happen when you join the best team.
He stayed in the same org longer than almost any apex pro. Besides basically just reps. Nothing wrong with wanting change and stuff. You can tell he didn’t wanna igl anymore, and if he’s playing with Evan and Jordan, he is going to be igl no matter what
