Greatly appreciate the feedback especially about my voice i grew up with a speech impediment and was made funny of my whole childhood because of the way I spoke. I’ve come back to thank you - I’ve had ongoing water issues on my right hand drive cayenne with pano roof, 2 dealers hadn’t been able to fix the water ingress in to the passenger side foot well/a pillar, I followed your advice on accessing the drain hole through the engine bay rather than jacking the car up and pulled out 2 handfuls of leaves, pushed all the dirt through the drain hole and approx 3 liters came out. I also bought a flexible wire thing with a scrubbing brush on the end to clean the holes from the pano roof to the a pillar prior to this so was perplexed so many thanks from Australia!

      Thanks for letting me know. I know the frustration and damage all these clogged drains can do. When my rear drains were clogged I kept getting taillight error messages and the speakers stopped working. At that point my wife didn't want to drive the Cayenne anymore. Well
      I'm glad I could help and thank you for watching.

    Hey great video, some weed trimmer line pushed down the drain tube from the roof should clear the line, no need to take wheels off or any trim under the bonnet, I use this method all the time on my jet boat to clear the cooling lines for the engines, hope this helps someone

    I just did this, this morning. Took 45 minutes. I couldn't find the drain from the top, so pulled half the wheel liner. Turns out there was so much crap at the top, that was why I couldn't see the drain. I used a shop vac and sucked everything out from the top, after clearing the drain. I think if I hadn't done that the same problem would be back almost immediately. Thanks for the tip OneSimpleDad!

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  Před rokem

      Yes the top gets filled and either a vacuum or using you hand to get the junk out will greatly help so it doesn't become an on going issue. Thanks for watching

    Thanks for this video, very helpful! Rears were pretty clear but I cut an extra mm or two off to prevent future clogs. Front drivers side is where I got a lot of debris out. After clearing with a screwdriver and my fingers, I took a big Allen wrench and put the short side up in there and twisted it around to loosen even more debris. Needless to say it was a lot. Good news is, it had not caused any leaking. Really glad I did this before it became a real problem.

    Many thanks 😊. I just tried the last option via the engine bay, found the blockage and could drain more than a liter of water. It took me just 10 min. I have now put the corn starch to dry the passenger side and let’s see the results how fast it dries out

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  Před rokem

      Great to hear it work for you. Once the corn starch dries vacuum up what you can and if there's any residue use a scrubbing brush and vacuum again. A wet vacuum works the best if I had one I would have used it. Thanks for watching

    Nice vid, but never jack up without disabling the air suspension, never use an impact gun on a locking wheel nut, never kick a wheel to remove without first putting one bolt back loosely and always use a torque wrench to tighten the nut back up.

    IF left water drains open mouse can go in and make nest. Under driver side carpet is so many cables. After water comes is good do take carpet up and inspect cables. Living carpet up (use wood block)for several sunny days will speed drying process. Under driver side fuse box is theft -protection siren . Not drain water can damage siren. ($250) When is cold water will more and more go up. Finally siren will be under water. Make extra drainage hole in flor to protect cables is good idea only floor will rust and finally hole will be very big and floor can go down.

    Event hough I think this video is very helpful for Porsche Cayenne owners that have this issue:).
    I was in the process of locating and purchasing a later model 2020 model...your video effectively persuaded me to continue driving Lexus LX or GX trucks (I know they aren't Porsche's). But, in all of my years of ownership 20plus with Lexus and counting never has water collected inside the vehicle or a drain ever clogged.
    Depressing for sure to suffer through this problem....

      All vehicles will have their issues. I get frustrated with some of the issues that have occurred with this Cayenne. I would consider buying another Cayenne, but I hope some issues have been resolved on the newer models. The water in the vehicle wasn't a big deal, but the peeling dashboard has been awful.

I just filmed another video last week on the ac not working.

    Anybody looking for a solution to this problem, realize that the 2011 and beyond 958 are very very different than earloier models. After having watched hours of video and being instructed to remove rocker panels and many other parts turned out to be a fools errands.
    My Cayenne had the hose in the A Panel disconnect as porsche doesn't believe in glue. It flooded my car and how in the world in became disconnected is beyond me. But it is now fixed until it disconnects it self again.
    So, pull off the A Pilar cover and in the lower portion by the windshield is a simple basic hose to hose connection. That is what failed in my vehicle. So that could be another part of the puzzle. Please also realize that the wind shield drains and the sunroof drains merge before exiting the vehicle in the wheel well.
    Thanks
