After I had made some crab Rangoons for my daughters birthday I left the oil pot to cool overnight, well it ended up being left next to the stove for the weekend before I realized that it wasn’t taken care of. I go to strain it and see a frog 🐸, in it. It didn’t fry to death, so it clearly suffocated in the viscous liquid. It was a small bull frog, and how it ended up in there is likely due to my house is being about 20-30 yards (18 meters- 27 meters) from a reservoir that is behind my house and I wouldn’t be surprised if one of my cats hadn’t been playing with it leading to it’s death by oil. I’m still not quite sure on the full picture of how it happened, but now when I’m cooling down any oil it goes straight into the oven if possible, I still feel bad for that lil’ critters untimely death.
