Bharatpur Forest : The Lungs of BHUBANESWAR

  • It is only when one goes into a forest that he realizes why they are so crucial for human beings.
It is hard to believe a lively green forest like Bharatpur exist in the middle of the sprawling Smart City of Bhubaneswar, the capital of Odisha. With the remorseless urbanization of the area, this small patch of forest that once adjoined the Chandaka-Damapada forest is now an island of green amidst the concrete jungle all around. It has not lost its identity even as the avarice of man has seen the relentless expansion of the boundaries of urban culture. It has managed to hold on to a patch of sky overhead- to store in its bosom a slice of greenery - the possibility of creation amid the destruction all around. This is the way life moves on - by finding its way through the darkness of nothingness.
Saving the forest in the Bharatpur-Jagannathprasad sector will not only help mitigate pollution, it will also provide a healthier environment to the residents of Bhubaneswar city. All it needs is love, nurturing, and a little space of its own. Just like a tree grows on its own, collecting food and light from the soil and sun but gives us flower, fruit, air and shade selflessly, a forest lives on its own but gives a lot to mankind. In return for the space it inhabits, it gives us oxygen, health and immunity. It balances our ecology by sheltering thousands of animals, birds, flora and fauna. It helps us build a better earth. So, instead of skyscrapers, let’s raise a forest together.

Many Many thanks for creating this video. It is beautiful and very important. It made me feel proud of the ecosystem Bhubaneswar has. And it made me emotional to an extent too. I am moved. My parental home is right next to this sanctuary and i vow to do everything in my capacity to help this nature's baby thrive .

Very sad to witness the sabotage caused by we human beings to the Bharatpur forest of Bhubaneswar. We have vulnerability affected the relics of the nature . We must remember that we are vincible and soon we will fade away. So it is our duty to live happily and not destroy the habitat of the animals. We should adhere to the inevitable fact of nature by remaining coherent with nature so that the future generation after we wither can also relish the rejuvenating eco system. People are destroying the glory of the planet. This is heinous. When will we stop sanctioning our reprimand on them.

Really no words to explain. 👍👌✌Salute to odisha tourism for working such hard but still I'm surprised why we are unable to reach at international level as we such beautiful treasure of nature in our lovely state. I just love my Odisha.

A forest which is not connected to other dies by its own .
Connecting back bharatpur with chandaka is not impossible . We just need to buy back private lands and notify them as forest land .
Not just chandaka every major forest of india should be connected with each other .
That's how tigers from terai came down till Kerala by roaming once upon a time.
