If you report it, you change the scene too soon. Short term memory wouldn't have enough time to have caught everything, causing it all to be quickly forgotten.
Like if you were to watch a video of seeing 20 different words flash across a screen, each word has 1 second or less; only those who trained their memory would be able to recall every word. Most people wouldn't remember every word.
But if you were able to stare at the scene of the crime for a while, you can mentally record the colors and names of everyone who is there, and everyone's location.
Lastly, why call a meeting when everyone is next to each other, talking? The only differences is that yall can't vote and other people who are doing tasks get interrupted; so it's much better to not report, let the people who aren't present keep doing their tasks while everyone else tries to remember what they all saw.
