Pretty dang excited for this! Thanks for putting in so much work on the ol' rig for me while I'm busy with other stuff 🍻😊
WooHoo! Friday night with Derwreck. God I'm a sad sack. Lol.
Crack That Whip, Jessica!!😄
Happy wife, happy life.
The man loves you!
A man in love will move mountains for his woman!
I'm not sure which one of you is luckier!
Just wondering if you guys saw my email about a possible revival of a 1970 chevelle ss 396 4 speed?
As someone who was raised by a single mom let me say this. The mere fact of having a father is huge. But having one like you is as good as it gets brother. Your kids are lucky to have you and will make this world better than it was when they arrived!!
Thanks for the kind words!
And it is the time when they are young and looking up to you. For the first time in ur life, you feel responsible and need to grow up fast. Appreciate your kids before they leave!
It's moments like those that get me upset I never had kids at 41, and now I'm divorced and dating sucks. Spent my whole life learning stuff I'm never going to pass on
@@SammyM00782 volunteer at the Boys and Girls club or something similar near you. Volunteer to help with a sports team or Scout troop...lots of places around that would love to have you i'm sure.
Absolutely!❤
You’re like the Bob Ross of mechanics. Great content to watch after a hard days work.
Absolutely agree, I fall asleep watching these videos a lot and often dream about working on my own stuff but it going decently well
He also sounds so much like Harland Williams.
Absolutely love to see Bentley helping out! Nothing like a Dad handing down the skills. Nicely done as always!
Derek I'm sorry but nothing compares to watching you wrench/torch/hammer/argue with old rusty steel. felt like we were on a revival for a minute! Thank you for all the hard work that you and your family put into your channels for our enjoyment. This world is a better place with you in it.
Thank you and thanks for watching
I second this!!!👍👍
I third this ! ! !
Agreed!
Me and the wife fish commercially, she's at sea right now. Having this on the TV in the backround makes chasing my toddlers around much more enjoyable. They even sit and watch with me sometimes.
From my fam to yours
THANKS
I love seeing someone put money and time into a straight 6 rather than just swapping it out. These are phenomenal engines that deserve the same love as V8's!
I agree! a well taken care of straight 6 cylinder engine is a strong engine. A warmed over, built up one is even a better one. But simple design makes for dependability.
just did a 250 rebuild for a 69 ! love the motor
We absolutely LOVE them here in Brazil! They're reliable and cheap to mainain. Plus, hella easy to tune-up. Search for Chevrolet Opala here on CZcams and you'll see a few of those making anything from 300whp to 2,500whp, insane engine. My Opala in the picture runs a 4 ciliner version of that engine. Just as reliable.
I'd take one over an LS
I drove a 1969 in 1970, 6 with the single barrel carb, which I tried to open up - lol Good one here: drove it all summer to move house furniture to new location, well never thought to check the oil and it ran out and the engine stops, two guys pull up and bail me out with some oil. It ran fine for years after that.
I first saw your 'Roadworthy Rescues' on MT and then started watching VGG on YT. I must say I'm MOST impressed by not only your diagnostic/mechanical skills but also by both you and Jessica's skills at parenting(the most important job a human can undertake). Your boys are so fortunate to have you both as examples of what life is really all about. Keep the Family First!
Thanks for the kind words
@@ViceGripGarage You are most welcome.
Same here! Found on MT and now addicted to YT channel. I’m down in Mississippi and loving this family channel.
He seems to be slow, but he's got quick hands
Wooo! Protictivev sheild for underside covering tank from bashes bumps in road🤷♂️
Another great episode. Your son is going to be quite the fabricator/ engineer! Good to see him out in shop learning.
This is the way to enjoy a friday evening
Saturday morning here in Australia 😂
Happy Fridays!!
Friday
In my world it's "FRIED" day! 😂
Little Grip is turning into quite a car mechanic.
The rear tail Iight repair is fab 😊
No surprise really 😂 I’ll never forget the lesabre video where he yelled “bring the thunder”
He started changing plugs and wires while he was still in the womb... apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Just a high quality 'Merican family.
@@rzk2f875 Rumor has it he was also born with a mullett, so he was destined to be great from the start!! LOL
Love the leaf blower fab!
That leaf Blower by Bentley is epic. what a great replica, awesome work kiddo!!
"Successfull rust-eyebaall injection" :D
God, I love your humor.
This was such an enjoyable time and makes me happy to see this wonderful family work and play together. The leaf blower that Bentley made is priceless. The smile on his face just made me smile as well. That is a treasure and a testament to your relationship...good job Dad! Thanks for all you do for us.
yes..derek needs to put the leaf blower up and give it back to bently when he is older, it will bring back so many memories for bently.
So glad you posted this full video. You could have easily turned this into a two or three part video, but you didn't. Gotta admit when you finished the first night, I was a little bummed, but a guy moved his mouse and saw I was only 1/3rd through the video and got excited again! 😅 Great video as always. Thanks for doing what you do and putting out these videos to entertain us. Can't wait to see this rig as it continues to progress :)
Thanks for watching
@@ViceGripGarage What was that plate that was under the carb that you put back in with the fi. it looked like it had wires to it
I think Derek is just the best human
Appreciate it
@@ViceGripGarage Anytime sir
I love how much comfort and safety stuff things you put in your wife's rig. This really goes to show how much you love her!
You seem to have a tight schedule. I hope you have enough time to relax and enjoy in between the project 🍻 Cheers!
Thank you for turning my Friday night into a happy one every time. Especially on Memorial weekend. It's always a tough weekend for me because I'm a combat vet. You're on my mind when I wake up Friday morning. ❤
Giving Jessica power brakes by adding a brake booster at some point might be something she appreciates too. She will definitely like power steering, especially since Longmire has those big meats on the front.
Big thumbs up for the leaf blower.
You guys are an amazing couple with an amazing family. Derek I can't believe how hard you work. It's been an absolute pleasure to see how far you are have come. I truly hope to meet guys someday
Sir you may live/have the greatest life this country has to offer, well deserved. I'm here for every minute of it, you inspire me to get off my bum with all the amazing stuff you do!!! Thank you VGG!!!
Wow he's really good at this. He should become a mechanic or something.
That double-sided sticky tape is awesome. I souped up a 76 Chevette with it by attaching my PC Whitney hood scoop with it.
Nice upgrade on Longmire, now it can be a goin to town rig. Instead of a "can a guy start it even" rig, looking forward to the power steering install. Thanks so much for bringing us such quality videos. Not to mention showing us the family as well, I personally never had a father worth the time, haven't talked to mine in seventeen years. So seeing you with your boys is a nice addition to the quality content. Hope you and the family stay well, and thanks again.
Bentley's creativity is wonderful! What a delight. Always enjoy watching your videos. Thank you Derek and family!
I can't wait to see part II. This video was great as per usual.
1.56m sub wow so happy to have been along from the beginning. Congratulations and keep growing and thank you for the effort ❤🎉
Great to see longmire gettin some more love here in the ol VGG! As usual Derek you 💯 % made my friday more enjoyable!!! Hope you all have a great memorial day weekend!!!
Thank you Derek for another enlightening episode! You make it look easy. Can't wait for the next episode. Your wife will love the changes. Don't forget that L/F shock absorber!
I bet you had a smile from ear to ear when bentley brought you his creation. I know i would.
I LOVE this truck so much. It’s just so cool. Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
I absolutely love this truck!!! So happy that you bought it back, and huge thanks to the gentleman that tracked you down and offered her up to you. Friday night with a cold snack and VGG. Nothing better. Damn I’m getting old 😂
Bentley's home built blower was awesome. He's got quite the imagination and tinkering skills down already, that's great.
The ole C10's sounding more gooder with that fancy electrodigital contraption on it. Nice work as always Derek.
Thanks for keeping the revivals in the mix. I could honestly just watch builds with the fleet you got there! This was a cool vid
Awesome job mate .Time well spent, keep up the great work.
Derek and co-stars (aka family), thank you so much for your hard work with theses great videos. Over the last months and months, I've really dug into my first car project. It has been in the garage for nearly three years and the end, if there's such a thing, is getting closer. I really appreciate your motivation and instructions. Thank you!
We would love to see Jessica's reaction (and her go to town road trip.) Great job. Thanks, Derek (and Bentley.)
I'm enjoying a cold snack while watching this. Enjoy the weekend every body.
I’m absolutely in love with those rims! Oversized rallies!!! 🤩
What a great old Chevy !! I had a '63 straight 6 small window 3 on the tree about 30 years ago. I wish I still had it.... Way to go Bentley, great job on the leaf blower for Dad.. hey Derek looks like the student is passing up the teacher. You two make a great pair..... You ever think of taking him on a revival ??? Good luck, John
I'm so pleased to see you kept the inline six Derek.
My gosh that front shock was unbolted!!!
The presentation and quality story in this VGG love of life upload is 10 out of 10.
Thankyou.
When a guy has probably watched pretty much every vidgoe on here 2 maybe even 3 times any one you find without that little red line at the bottom is a treat ❤
Though I'll never own a classic rust bucket or a Merc, you and Alex on the LSC channel are my fave mechanics. You both show what the average Joe is capable of.
Now that'd be one hell of a collaboration video!
@@philgrimsey3637 I'd like to see them tag team Derek's Grand National, if he still has it. I know Alex is damned proud of his. Thing's a beauty now.
You are a lot of fun to watch and educational but the best part is watching what amazing parents you guys are and how amazing those kids are turning out
This one is special. I once owned a 68 gmc long bed. It had the 292 that you were working on. I had a 1 barrel monojet by non other than Rochester on a stock manafold. I knew nothing about the" OPENHOUSER". I did spin a bearing on #4 and rebuilt it with my dad. We went from 85 to 115 psi for cyl. Used the auto tran 3 foward. And it went 128 down hill on 40 in a 2 mile run back in the 70's. It made me so prowd of my dad. He just grined and scolded me at the same time. I miss him but.... this is fun, remembering what l once had. You know what l'm speaking of. You got to pass it on!! It's up to you Derek to "school" pepole. Just like your boy's. Otherwise you can 4get it. Later guy....
What I love the most about slammed/bagged trucks is also what I love most about 3-wheel motorcycles. They allow those with disabilities to enjoy our hobby as well. It warms my heart whenever I see one, knowing that someone with more challenges in life than me is able to get out there and enjoy life and therefore find it impossible to roll my eyes when I see one.
This excites me about what can be done do almost any old vehicle! Thank you!
To avoid your low voltage problem in the future, add a relay from the battery direct to the sniper with the relay coil attached to the accessory terminal of the key switch
I was thinking the same thing
Awesome content
Love all the hard work
Loved little man's leaf blower what a great build. I really enjoyed the whole video great job.
Absotively posilutely fantabulous! Stay safe and God bless you all!
Well done Derek and wow Lil Grip really has come a long way as always keep safe and bless you all
Gotta love the stand alone efi, one of the best things I've done to my car. Did find that dialing back the prime shot made it start easier.
That homemade blower is AWESOME!!! I really like the cross on the wall by the door.
This project was fun as usual! Enjoying watching you're Channel!😉😊
Your amazing! Great guy. You have such a great attitude, and most respectfuly your patience is outstanding!❤ I love watching you revive, and the comedy that comes with it. Also. Love watching Bentley get out there w/ you! What a beautiful family. The wifey is going to love the progress!😊
Thank you!!
I knew the gas axe was eventually going to come into play. Derek, you have encouraged a lot of us armchair mechanics to get off our brains and start wrenching on our cars, trucks, SUVs, boats, motorcycles, and even planes in my case. Last week I changed out Ball Joints, Tie Rod ends, brakes, oil, and charged my AC on my 2007 Yukon XL. My alignment shop even said I did such a good job on my installs that they wondered if I needed a side job. I am too old for that, but glad I can still get things done for myself. If you are concerned about those bed braces losing strength, use the center pieces to brace the corner between the bedside and the bottom of the frame rail.
just gotta say I honestly look forward to your videos more than anything on tv it’s so nice to get to see an actual wholesome family tv show. Oh and it’s about old rigs ❤
What an awesome truck, love seeing the little human out there helping ya.
I love my sniper. I’ve installed a lot of these at the last shop I worked at as well. My 69 Firebird with a 400 in her gets between 18-22 mpg with the sniper. They’re a great system. Thank you for another great video!!
I've heard too many issues with the ecm failing or issues with them going lean out of nowhere. I'd run a terminator over the sniper
How on a six? Have to have a custom intake machined and fuel rail.
@@faststang85 on the ones I’ve installed over the years at my last shop, we had one that was bad from the factory and all the rest worked flawlessly. There are a lot more success stories than problems ones… you just don’t hear about the ones that work. You only hear the bad… terminator X is great but like Derek said, it would take some serious mods to make it work.
@@ViceGripGarage not talking for a stovebolt etc 6, just in general. Maybe they have fixed some of their issues?🤷♂️
Love the episode. Been working on an EFI swap myself and running into similar 'feature creep', you know, while you're there you maswel... Awesome leaf blower from the kid. Top shelf work.
Great conversion, big difference, mommy will enjoy it
Love the channel and all the content thank you Derek and family for Entertaining us for all these years
I think you're going to have problems not having a crossmember, the weight of the bed may end up cracking that fuel tank, being mounted solid. There's room for one above and below the tank to help support the bed.
Man I LOVE these videos LOL. You are totally the Red Green of the automotive world 😂
Keep these videos coming! Thanks pal. Lots of laughs and lots of learning for sure.
If your wife can't find you handsome at least she can find you handy ~ Red Green.
Always glad to see you & your son working together. Always …. Thanks for another great video.
Very impressed with Bentley’s mini-blower. Always satisfying when kids come up with creative ideas. 😊
Your boys are going to do great things. As a betting man I'd say they will have a huge impact on the car community and do something that sets them apart!!
I love these vids…. Derek makes you feel like he is talking directly to you, not an audience…. Great content
She a pretty cool rig! I just rescued a 1947 newyorker and 1972 Impala out of the same barn! Having fun reviving them as always!
Derek you have shown us so much over the years thank you sir GOD bless you and your family
As always a really great video Derek. I learned stuff. You make jokes which makes your video fun to watch but you are one of the most skilled mechanics I have ever seen anywhere. Can not wait for the finish on this one. And that home built blower, looks like hes gonna be like dad and that's a good thing. You ever think of doing a video where you and the boys build some home made gokarts and then race them? That would be awesome.
Love the 292 straight 6 but have you seen the 4200 straight 6 GM OMG they are awesome getting so much power for not alot of money those are going to be the next ls I believe love your videos so keep on keeping on
That leafblower from Bentley was just the best! Discovered your channel about a week or two ago and I'm GLUED to it! Thanks for your fantastic videos!
What a GREAT upgrade for Jessica's truck. She purrs like a kitten now! Jessica is going to LOVE it!
Derek, have you seen ThunderHead289’s carb cheater? Might be cool for some of your older rigs that you want to increase your relia/drive ability. With out switching to efi. But it’s awesome to see your experience and gain from your knowledge.😊
This is why I watch every single video!!! Dave you and your team restore my faith in humanity one little bit at a time!!! Great job guys
Don't forget to fix that front suspension!! Absolutely love your videos, I find myself laughing quite often as well. Great to see humor in with informative content! You have definitely inspired a lot of people to be sure and I personally would love to build a late 40's early 50's chevy and have been keeping my eye out for a diamond in the rough. Thanks for your videos!!
When my kids were little they use to make me things like Bentley did! That just made me smile, and brought back some nice memories😊
We need a couple good ol’ “Well help me understand!” classics. Best line ever. Blessings to you and yours Derek. Thanks for the vidya.
Never thought i'd get excited about an inline 6 but here we are, get ep and looking forward to the next instalment
Did this on my 61 works great so much better no more cold starts 😊
You make it look so easy, good job you guys . Cheers 🇨🇦
Awsome work for the wife,'s truck with your son and awsome gift from your son👏🔥❤️
Got my front brake calipers replaced and successfully bled, thanks for the inspiration
Derek, the Master of all trades. Great video and tutorial. Regards Jules.
I loved it. It looked like me under the back taking off the old rusted bolts. Even the wire said that was me working on the truck. Thank You so much for the laughs Derek. I really enjoyed it.
When I was a kid my dad had a 65 step side I loved that truck so much I’ve always looked for one for years
A lot of older guys who don't know, well they just don't know. EFI is a FABULOUS thing, you can tune it with a laptop and a little bit of know how (it's just as difficult as learning to use a vacuum gauge and all the screws and setting your t's to a square and all that) it's BETTER to run fuel injection. It literally takes ALL of the guesswork out of fueling your machine. Seriously guys, take a minute and just LEARN EFI!! It's WONDERFUL!
I've always liked the roof line on those rigs . great styling
Very good job on that straight daryll!!! Your son is getting the best education on automobile mechanics ever!!!😊😊😊
I’m liking the captains side front brake license plate directed cooling vent.
Great video, a feller can learn a bunch watching you, thanks!
Right angle drill!!! It’s a game changer just like the stubby wrenches.
You’re raising some great Sons. What a joy to watch y’all work together.
Nice setup.
“Little Guy Garage” is a great garage hand.
You’re showing what a dad is all about
Nice Derek, that thing purrs like an old Oliver 88, gotta love the ole straight 6👍!!
Nice job thanks for letting me watch 👍
Good job I love watching your channel. You make it look easy. And I know it's not easy. Keep up the good work
He is running nice and smooth no shakes at all very awesome Derek @Vice Geip Garage
