    Square KDS is a built from scratch kitchen display system- making it easy to connect your Square for Restaurants Point of Sale, Square Point of Sale, online ordering, or integrated delivery platforms.
    The first step is to double check your categories are created and assigned to your items, since the Square KDS routes tickets based on your item categories. Categories are groups like Drinks or Appetizers.
    If you don’t have categories created, just head to your online Square Dashboard, select Items, and then Categories. Create your categories, and then assign your items.
    When you’re all set, the next step is to create sign-in code for the Square KDS
    To get started:
    1. Head to your Square Dashboard.
    2. Next, select Devices and Kitchen Displays.
    3. Click Add a device.
    4. Enter a nickname & select a location.
    5. Click Next.
    6. Choose to send your code via email or phone number and click Send. You’ll need this code to sign into the Square KDS app.
    Next, you’ll need to download the app onto your kitchen display iPad.
    Head to the Apple App Store.
    Search “Square KDS” and install.
    Once the download is complete, sign into the app using your device code. The first step is to decide which categories will route to this specific KDS.
    You can customize your layout by updating your preferred text size, as well as ticket arrangement based on the number of tickets displayed.
    To set your layout settings:
    1. Tap the settings gear icon.
    2. Tap Layout.
    3. Select your appropriate text size and select your preferred layout.
    Next, enable alerts and timers by tapping Timer & Alerts, and update the timeframe for Yellow and Red alerts-giving your kitchen strong visual cues to help them prioritize.
    Lastly, if you’re accepting online orders, make sure “View online orders” is enabled.
    Once an order comes through, it will pop up on the kitchen display. When an item is ready, tap the completed item directly on the display. If the entire ticket is done, just tap the top banner of a ticket and select Complete Ticket.
    To view your completed tickets, tap Completed on the top of your screen.
    Square KDS also offers reporting tools-providing insights into how well your kitchen is performing.
    To view your KDS reports:
    Head to your Square Dashboard.
    Click Reports.
    Click Kitchen Performance.
    You can apply filters to drill down into specific shifts to see the number of completed tickets, as well as the average ticket time.

    Does square KDS work with the iPad or only the square terminal?

    I have 3 open tickets however they are marked as completed

      A webhook could work but you have to settle the payment outside of POS due to its limitations
