i prefer japanese releases, coz they're not hyper-sexualized, have good, interesting and engaging plot, the chemistry doesn't seem forced, no fish kisses, most importantly the pace is good. like everything is just perfect. my personal favourites are jack o' frost and old fashion cupcake

Its not just their bl, overall japanese drama are way much grounded and relateable. They are very diverse in theme but thats also the reason that they have so many random wacky dramas and yes they dont invest much money usually. But once you find a good jdramas, you'll want to watch more
could you suggest me some? so far the jdramas I've watched wasn't that satisfactory (apart from Kimi no Todoke and Our Secret Diary) And yes, I like how natural the setting is. You don't feel like a poor watching them unlike Kdramas xD

For actresses, I like most of Maki Horikita's dramas but she doesn't act anymore so all of her best dramas are old ones! Tbh I feel like the golden era of jdramas was the early 2000s to 2010s. Recent ones are nice but we need to dig a bit deeper

In most of the Japanese bl drama I noticed one thing is that, one character is hyperactive or extrovert and other character will be interovert or shy person.that combination is really interesting 😊 "My Love mix up" drama is my favourite ❤

I really love Japanese BL with sense of humor, cute and doki doki feelings. You clearly can see only little bit skinship but the doki doki feelings always in there!! Cute and sweet story
They really have the real niche in it. They can make their audiences feel strongly even in short time and without any special romantic PDAs. No one can portray the subtle and strong jealousy part like them. They can make every emotion to ooze out on screen, insane! While I have to try hard and force myself to feel certain emotions, many times on other industries' bl series (especially thai, not bashing every one, but most of them). Japanese flows different and hits different❤.
Right??? I only watched Korean bl but they felt so out of place... stories not connecting in a seamless way. But Japanese bls...they make my heart fluttering with every single moment ❤️
They are very good actors too .I mean its very Hard to pull off characters like adachi, Aoki and so on. Compared to bls from other countries I feel they don't go over the top with make-up and styling for a actor. I don't mean to offend anyone but lately the makeup and filters in asian dramas have been really jarring and mostly takes away the personality of a character. I hope someday I will get to see bare faces of the actors like in young royals. I really don't have any problem with using make-up but would like to see appreciation for some flaws too
The reason I love JBLs is because of their natural acting. Like you see Kurosawa and you can see thousands emotions passing his face - you don't need words to decipher their emotions. I've only watched one-two KBLs and my opinion is based on that, so not to demean anyone, but I think they lack in that aspect. The acting isn't subtle, or even if it is, they try to sidetrack the plot or kill/separate one, which is ridiculous. JBLs are great because you get to experience that raw emotion, and see them getting satisfactory ending.
Yes, I agree about the acting, in some cases I feel like it even enhances on the original material. I think Aoki is a perfect example of that, the manga sometimes had him pulling such exaggerated expressions that it actually detracted from the mood of a scene for me. It was interesting for me to see the actor pull off those moments, still showing the emotions in an exaggerated fashion, but the way he acted, it felt more natural, if slightly heightened, and made me appreciate those humorous moments more.
I thought I was the only one who feels the way about Japanese BL. I don't know how they do it but it's their trademark. Every single one of them made us feel like floating in mid air, made us feel so full of emotions that we cannot describe, sometimes made us feel grounded as to how we can relate to the characters. It's just a feeling that only Japanese BL can evoke us. They hold that kind of power that no other BL countries have.
YES! They are so soft (but not boring), so sweet (not cringe), heart fluttering (w/o explicit content), funny, and beautiful at the same time. Love them sm!
Not just BL but Japanese romantic comedies. I NEVER watch romantic comedies in English, it would be torture. For some reason, I do like Japanese romantic comedies like Mischievious Kiss.
I've read comments everywhere about japanese actors and actresses being "not enough attractive" or just plain "ugly". And while I respect everybody's physical preferences, I'm glad that attractiveness and beauty is subjective (partially) bc I find many of them much more attractive than other east asian actors and actresses, maybe bc of their unique features (teeth, hairstyles, noses, skin tones, etc) and bc it seems that Japan doesn't care much about western beauty standards or even the east asian ones, in general, and that's reflected in their dramas and series.
Awwww, thank you for this great editing and compilation of some of the best japanese bl series. You chose the best scenes! It's true, japanese BLs just hit different. The actos do not go over the top, but keep it moderate so the acting seems more sincere and real. Even if the series had a lower budget, they made the most of it with pure skills. And let's not forget the great chemistrys of the couples.

I am a really big fan of the My Love Mix Up manga and I was pretty skeptical when it was announced that it's going to have an adaptation but when I finally watched the live adaptation it actually exceeded my expectations! The actors have amazing chemistry and all of he casts did the characters justice I had such a good time
i like the fact that some of these guys acted in Kamen Rider =)) We got Akaso Eiji (Cherry Magic), Takeda Kohei (OFC) and if you do dig deeper we can see Inukai Atsuhiro (Our Dining Table, A Man Who Defines The World OF BL) etc... lol and the couple in Cherry Magic is really popular in Japan, they both got over a million followers on Ig but they don't hesitate to kiss each others and thats what made the drama so fine.
I have also noticed this- in JBL, well-known actors are casted. In KBL, most of the time the actors aren't well known, and if they are, they will kill/set them apart. That's why JBLs are so good, ig. Because they treat it as a genre rather than a subplot

I love Cherry Magic and Old-Fashioned Cupcake so much! Great watches if you want a break from high school romance. That being said, I also love how My First Love Mix Up was included! That show has some well-timed comedy and the love story is very cute! I do like that theres not usually a lot of sexualizing, its refreshing when you watch a lot of Thai bl, but i do appreciate at least one kiss, even if its only one.
I actually read the manga of all these bls before the live action so im so happy it’s getting more popular. I got into jdrama bls bc i really enjoyed old fashioned cupcake and the actor of the seme played kageyama tobio(my favorite fictional character) in haikyuu stage play. I dont regret falling into this rabbit hole at all😭😭 Japanese bls just have a different charm to itself that i cant feel anywhere else. Its very cute and dramatic but also kinda lewd(??) Idk i enjoy the depiction of romance very much💜💜💜

Cherry Magic the CrunchyRoll Anime was my introduction to the series and BL in general, it was amazing! I’m usually not one for romance stories but this one really resonated with me!Now coming across the fact that there was a live action series prior to the anime, along with other top-tier looking BL shows, has revived me! Although, I will admit, the anime of Cherry Magic has a lot of Kurosawa singing to/about Adachi so it may be the better version haha. Jury is still out until I find a way to watch the whole show!
I'd read My Love Mix-Up but hadn't watched the drama. Found this video a few days ago and 2:44 is what made me drop the video and binge it immediately. The actor playing Aoki freaking NAILED it and made it so much fun to watch. I crack up at that scene every time

Japanese ,korean and even few thaiwanese and chinese mainly focus plot and acting which is way better than cringe series thai has been giving in recent years . Thai series is filled unnecessarily intimate scenes makes me miss old series like sotus .
I haven't watched Thai ones but I did watch some Korean BLs...and I wasn't impressed. I felt like either the plot weren't good (inconsistent, not good development etc), or the acting weren't impressive or when there's a good chemistry between actors, they make them non bl. But ig they'll improve in the future
"My Strawberry Film" had a lot of mixed/negative reviews but I think they encaptured the queer asian experience quite nicely. Has everyone finished it?

My Love Mix Up and Cherry Magic is always my go to recommendation, cause they are so good🤧🤧😭😭🤌🏻🤌🏻 Like the couples in both of them are greener then the amazon rainforest, its tooth rooting fluff and it just ughhh, has a charm in the story line that i cannot explain in words I would also recommend Shouji coin laundry
I don't understand why there is a need for BL actors to give fan service to the point that their fans become disillusioned. Most of these series are well-known internationally, and Japanese BL actors hardly ever need fan service or unnecessary promotion to increase the ratings or popularity of the series. Japanese BL supremacy 🙌🙌
I'm not aware of fan service you mentioned, but I would like Japanese dramas to get more promotions. Especially I want to see JBL couples in more interviews (like what Netflix does to promote its series)
@@geminithetwins normal promotions are okay like an interviews, they are totally fine. I also would like to learn what they’re thinking or feeling during particular scenes. What I’m not okay is the actors getting into what they called “ship couple” where they urge or force the actors to kiss or tease each other during interviews or live stream to let other fan thinks that they are a “real couple”. It’s mostly common on Thailand, I’ve also seen some Taiwan actors do those kind of things.

And while I respect everybody's physical preferences, I'm glad that attractiveness and beauty is subjective (partially) bc I find many of them much more attractive than other east asian actors and actresses, maybe bc of their unique features (teeth, hairstyles, noses, skin tones, etc) and bc it seems that Japan doesn't care much about western beauty standards or even the east asian ones, in general, and that's reflected in their dramas and series.

It's true, japanese BLs just hit different. The actos do not go over the top, but keep it moderate so the acting seems more sincere and real.
Even if the series had a lower budget, they made the most of it with pure skills. And let's not forget the great chemistrys of the couples.

I am a really big fan of the My Love Mix Up manga and I was pretty skeptical when it was announced that it's going to have an adaptation but when I finally watched the live adaptation it actually exceeded my expectations! The actors have amazing chemistry and all of he casts did the characters justice I had such a good time

i like the fact that some of these guys acted in Kamen Rider =)) We got Akaso Eiji (Cherry Magic), Takeda Kohei (OFC) and if you do dig deeper we can see Inukai Atsuhiro (Our Dining Table, A Man Who Defines The World OF BL) etc... lol and the couple in Cherry Magic is really popular in Japan, they both got over a million followers on Ig but they don't hesitate to kiss each others and thats what made the drama so fine.
I have also noticed this- in JBL, well-known actors are casted. In KBL, most of the time the actors aren't well known, and if they are, they will kill/set them apart. That's why JBLs are so good, ig. Because they treat it as a genre rather than a subplot

I love Cherry Magic and Old-Fashioned Cupcake so much! Great watches if you want a break from high school romance. That being said, I also love how My First Love Mix Up was included! That show has some well-timed comedy and the love story is very cute!
I do like that theres not usually a lot of sexualizing, its refreshing when you watch a lot of Thai bl, but i do appreciate at least one kiss, even if its only one.

Cherry Magic the CrunchyRoll Anime was my introduction to the series and BL in general, it was amazing! I’m usually not one for romance stories but this one really resonated with me!Now coming across the fact that there was a live action series prior to the anime, along with other top-tier looking BL shows, has revived me!
Although, I will admit, the anime of Cherry Magic has a lot of Kurosawa singing to/about Adachi so it may be the better version haha. Jury is still out until I find a way to watch the whole show!

Japanese ,korean and even few thaiwanese and chinese mainly focus plot and acting which is way better than cringe series thai has been giving in recent years . Thai series is filled unnecessarily intimate scenes makes me miss old series like sotus .
I haven't watched Thai ones but I did watch some Korean BLs...and I wasn't impressed. I felt like either the plot weren't good (inconsistent, not good development etc), or the acting weren't impressive or when there's a good chemistry between actors, they make them non bl. But ig they'll improve in the future

I don't understand why there is a need for BL actors to give fan service to the point that their fans become disillusioned. Most of these series are well-known internationally, and Japanese BL actors hardly ever need fan service or unnecessary promotion to increase the ratings or popularity of the series.

I'm not aware of fan service you mentioned, but I would like Japanese dramas to get more promotions. Especially I want to see JBL couples in more interviews (like what Netflix does to promote its series)
@@geminithetwins normal promotions are okay like an interviews, they are totally fine. I also would like to learn what they’re thinking or feeling during particular scenes. What I’m not okay is the actors getting into what they called “ship couple” where they urge or force the actors to kiss or tease each other during interviews or live stream to let other fan thinks that they are a “real couple”. It’s mostly common on Thailand, I’ve also seen some Taiwan actors do those kind of things.
