17 helpful gaps filled in by @lucascatts66 thanks very much and I hope Lucas' tips help anyone watching :) 1. For grinding out to level five on Destiny [Islands], it's more efficient to use [Wakka] as each time you deflect his balls you get a tech bonus. Stand far enough away and you won't stun him when you deflect them back. (Note from Nick: I now know it's most optimal to use Tidus and parry his short strikes then run away as that's the strategy people use for leveling to 100 on Destiny Islands; but the Wakka and Selphie strat will both work for a quick level up) 2. Large Bodies can be parried when they charge for a tech, you don't need Donald or Goofy to take the hit (Note from Nick: true, and it can be blocked, too!) 3. Make sure you [exchange Donald for Ariel] when you go to [Triton's] throne room the second time. You need her in order to hit the switch that opens up Ursula's secret lair [in the Sunken Ship room]. 4. Since it's a quick cut when Nick is describing how to customize Jack, I'm pretty sure the final setup was: Regular Attacks - Constantly, Special Attacks - Constantly, HP Items - Frequently, MP Items - Frequently. 5. It may be a ps4 thing, but I couldn't reliably get the Rare Truffles to respawn in [the Bridge room] to grind to lvl 33, even when I did the soft reset strat. I found I often had to defeat the regular heartless in the area, then do the soft reset. This was made more tedious by the fact that I could not get the knack of the juggle hahahaha (Note from Nick: I don't recommend fighting the standard heartless in the Bridge room before soft resetting - as a soft reset will also reset the mushroom RNG - anything done before that soft reset is irrelevant to how things spawn once you reload the game) 6. Recommend you put Nick on half speed when he's showing where all the clams are in Atlantica. 7. Watch 32:28 before you start the run, because if you don't, you'll end up just walking away from the game with it paused, the clock keeps running, and [that] may [cause you to] end up with a wack set of doors to open before you get to the good stuff. 8. ...you get the cure arts from the deep jungle camp mushrooms. You cast it on them when they fall over. 9. Nick shows a setup for the return to Olympus Coliseum that includes Goofy holding an Element Ring. I don't think he mentions specifically pick[ing] it up. [But] it costs 4800 munny from the accessory shop in Traverse Town. I recommend you buy it before picking up a bunch of the weapons to fill out the weapon mastery achievement. (Note from Nick: Element Ring is also obtainable as a drop from Battleship heartless that spawn on the Deck in Neverland, which is how I got it) 10. Since you need multiple mystery goo drops (10) for synthesis, it's advisable to do all the white mushrooms you encounter in an area, not just the ones necessary to get a single 'arts' (like I did). 11. Nick switches his quick command Triangle to Gravira during the first Hollow Bastion segment. 12. Switch to the [Olympia] Keyblade before the first Riku fight in Hollow Bastion, I assume you have to do this before the betrayal (Note from Nick: yes, do it when you land in Rising Falls as you can't switch keyblades again until after fighting Riku in the Entrance Hall) 13. Keep Donald and Goofy [in the party] after Riku 1 in Hollow Bastion (Note from Nick: yes! and this is necessary because there's trinities you need to/can grab on the way up to Maleficent) 14. If you were trying to figure out how to access the chest near the emblem door in Hollow Bastion, you have to grab on to a mini-ledge on the pillar opposite the chest pillar and then jump up from there. 15. I recommend equipping lucky strike to all party members who have it when you go back through the worlds to pick up all the items and trinities. 16. When farming the Grand Ghost [in Monstro], at least in the ps4 version, you don't have to save and soft reset. I found that simply returning to the mouth and then heading back to the [Stomach room] was sufficient. 17. Before the Phantom fight [at the Clock Tower], since Nick thinks Aeroga isn't necessary, you can map one of the necessary spells to square [Firaga, Blizzaga, or Thundaga]
Just found this guide after wanting to try 1.5 on Proud, and it’s just the encouragement I needed. Props for making it so efficient and clear in only 90 minutes. I really hope there’ll be a video for 2.5 in the future!
I have to thank you for this guide, I finally got the platinum some minutes ago, the gumi missions and blueprints was the final thing, I started the game on 2016 and after 8 years got the platinum, thank you so much again!
I just want to say this is the best video guide I have ever seen. The speed in which you talk and go through things isn't an issue, I just slow down speed to 0.5x. I've been following right up until unlocking the cutscene after the library in hollow bastion and you've been so helpful so far! I'm trying to get my first ever platinum trophy and I feel with you to guide me I'll finally get one! Thank you so much, keep doing what you're doing! You're the best!
You explain everything so perfectly, I'm blown away by the quality, and detail! I just got done with the phantom at the clocktower and about to finish off the rest of the Hades Cup. Hoping to platinum KH2 after this, do you have a guide on that also? Many thanks again!
@@chlo2376 thank you so much for saying that! and not yet, unfortunately, next on my list for this kind of walkthrough is Re:Chain of Memories and then 2 But, I do have the Kingdom Hearts 2 Item Hunt which does go over - albeit in less detail - where every chest and puzzle piece is and I give tips for bosses
Okay nice! Tbh I never got round to completing chain of memories because I couldn't get used to the playstyle, but perhaps when your guide comes out for that I could try and atleast finish that 😁 I dont think I'll even attempt to platinum that one, I'm so bad at it hahaha
@@chlo2376 understandable! It’s very few people’s cup of tea 😂 I’m trying best to design my guide around minimizing the issues people have with it (outside of “I don’t want to fight with cards” cause I can’t fix that lol)

@@SandeMC ahhh I appreciate that so much :) I think I’ll be getting into a comprehensive walkthrough of KH2 sooner rather than later (schedule permitting)
This really helped me get the platinum for the game expecially the level up and gummi ship bit (i couldn't make a gummi ship if my life depended on it).
Trick for the Chimera: if you smash attack super close to it, when it drops the balls you can deflect them with no effort 75% of the time, most of the rounds i deflect 2 or 3 at least
Thanks for putting this together, bruv. Really useful. I'm gona use this thread to make comments as I follow along. (Edit: As Nick points out, this first tip is not correct, and the optimal time to farm levels is during the shadows section before Darkside 2) 1. For grinding out to level five on Destiny, it's more efficient to use Tidus as each time you deflect his balls you get a tech bonus. Stand far enough away and you won't stun him when you deflect them back.
That was the old strategy, but I ran a few tests to see And what I found was you get: - 46 exp per 2 minutes against Selphie - 18 exp per 2 minutes against Wakka - 22 to 30 exp (strength dependent) per 2 minutes against Tidus Ironically, the true fastest way is after day 2, during night time, where defeating the Shadows can get you up to 68 exp per 2 minutes
3. Make sure you reinsert Ariel in to your party (in exchange for Donald), when you go to Neptune's throne room the second time. You need her in order to hit the switch that opens up Ursula's secret lair.
@@nickmcsleighten That's really interesting. I was just working off an intuitive level, and it may be a skill thing, because I couldn't get her to be as responsive as you managed. Good call on the shadows. If you made the guide today, would you alter it to include a grind at that point?
So they set it up really bizarre, so it’s probably not the PC version or you - it’s just weird lol - EDIT: Once you’ve entered the Gummi Garage from the World Map, go to Gummi Ship > Config > Customize Hope this helped :)
@@nickmcsleighten Just checked footage from ps3 version and in Gummi Ship menu there's Change Ships, Rename, Config and Transform whereas on PC they replaced Config with Controls where you can't replace the controls. @@SandeMC oh shoot, did they really? My bad, I figured it’d be totally ridiculous for them to do that but apparently not - can you change controls in any other menu? Like a keyboard mode or anything?
@@nickmcsleighten You can change general control layout I guess(there's a new settings menu separate from the game for PC settings) but separate gummi ship control editing is not possible I assume they just didn't bother enough since they changed the input code; it's noticeable by the fact it uses actual gamepad/keyboard icons everywhere now opposed to the text indicating the button
At 35:48 i don't know how but i beat it with 1 hit, i just started the minigame for the first time not knowing i wasn't supposed to touch the ground so i jumped at the seed and smacked it then i hit the floor then the cutscene for the pot breaking played.
@@Lechuga2x that happens sometimes, from what little testing I’ve done, it seems the higher up you hit it, the more points you get - which can sometimes result in a single hit victory
Ah yeah, it’s not shown in the video, but during End of the World, you have a chance to pick up a second Omega Arts by fighting the Behemoth in between Final Dimension and Giant Crevasse (you can refight this boss anytime) Alternatively, you can give Aladdin any remaining equipment that has high defense or high strength for the Kurt Zisa battle
