- Back in 2006 Breaking Benjamin hit the road to support their new album "Phobia". This is Aaron (guitar), Mark (bass) and Chad (drums) soundchecking the song "Shallow Bay" during which Aaron unleashes a wicked solo.
Previously kept "in the vault", due to recent events this video has now been made public!
check www.shallowbay.com for more information on this video and for more videos coming up. - Hudba
No offense to the new guys but this is how pure BB sounds. I miss it😭
i agree. the new lineup is good, but nowhere near as tight as the original crew was
Ben the drunk got ego hurt and fired them
The new guys suck, specially the Chad wannabe. Ben need 2 guitarists to replace Aaron...
Respectfully disagree. It sometimes isn’t about talent. If your band mates, the people you should be able to trust, go a do something purely to make a couple of extra bucks without consulting you, it’s a much deeper issue, trust.
@@rickwanders I won’t defend Mark/Aaron for what they did, but I imagine there’s details in that case that we didn’t see. One of which is likely their reasoning for allowing the compilation album and the Blow Me Away remix.
I can only speculate, but it wouldn’t surprise me they made that call because of how uncertain the bands future was at the time. Ben was in and out of hospitals trying to figure out that perma sick he’s got, but I imagine the other dudes were either trying to tour or do their own thing and Ben wouldn’t let them. I’m pretty sure their inconsistency is also why PRS and Randall decided not to work with him anymore.
But yeah, I wish we knew what actually happened between 2010 and 2013. I bet it’d change a lot of peoples minds about multiple members.
These guys made some epic hits. For all of the turmoil, they lit it up.
One of the greatest solos never recorded. I still watch this video and think "Dang that would’ve been great in studio." One of the What Ifs for BB. Please never take this video down.
2020 and still one of my favorites.🤘🏽⚡️☄️💥🔥🤘🏽
I decided to come back today April 23rd 2022.
Update: June 2022 and still watching. Have watched this video about 5 times in the last 2 weeks. I’ll disappear for a bit but always comeback.🤘🏽. Thank you again for keeping it on here.🏆
@@ignite_the_conversation1201 Omg bro That's being a true fan, you should download the video, in case they remove it you can continue watching it xD
Half the reason why the solo sounds so good is their guitar tone. Old BB has this great mellow, dark and thick tone that’s enticing
Agreed the old tone was so much better, and the members are alot more talented, especially Aaron
@@threadworm437 For real. Aaron is a fantastic player and Mark is a hugely underrated writer. A large portion of the riffs on WANA, Phobia, and DA were ones he put together on guitar, bass, and piano. Ben would plug them in with his and voila, there’s a hit song like So Cold
So underrated. He needed more attention as a guitarist when he was at bb. But idk what he's doing now at this point
Sherbert The destroyer he's solo now with a new album!
Update: He is in a band called Lifer or something like that.
Isn’t he the bassist for BB?
@@ToaNaterFilms This man is Aaron Fink the original lead guitarist of Breaking Ben, the another Aaron is Bruch the current bassist in BB.
@@diegomazzaron9191 I’m so stupid lol
If breaking benjamin put solos like that in their songs, it would really step them up as a band
SuperGosen4 to bad Aaron is no longer in the band....
+SuperGosen4 they already have cool solos though. have you heard the solo in lights out? that things sick.
+Brandough Crox Some of their songs do feauture some cool solo's, but as a whole. most of the songs dont have one
yeah. phobia probably had the most, but dear agony had the most intricate solos.
+Brandough Crox Like I will not bow
its crazy that he never showed how good he is in any recordings
I knew he was a good guitarist but damn, I didn't know he ripped it like that. Why didn't we ever hear these kinds of solos beforehand? I mean I know BB has never made music to fit solos like that, but come on. Every lead guitarist from a famous band needs at least that one guitar solo that everyone talks about.
Probably because Ben Butthole has to have everything his way or no way
Dear agony had their best, most complex solos.
Good lord. For everything that went wrong, this moment was perfection.
This shouldda been the album version. The solo is badass and fits perfect in the song
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us.
Well Aaron has said he lieks to play memorable riffs when they write songs, but they DEFINITELY should have threw in a solo or two like this when they played live
If they do come back the sound will be the breaking ben sound it's always been since ben is the one that does most of the writing. So regardless of new members, breaking benjamin won't fail to bring an awsome sound to all us fans!
Strange how no one in this video is in the band now. Best of luck to them all though!
explains why BB sucks ass now
@@truthmode6704 i guess it's just your opinion but you're wrong
@@bobafatty111 like you said it is an opinion. I stopped listening to them after buying tickets with the new line up and hearing them live. Just not the same band. Aaron Fink made breaking benjamin.
@@truthmode6704 Which is why the sound drastically changed after he left right? Psych Ben writes most of it, and they still kick ass.
@@truthmode6704 I think the sound change had more to do with Ben sobering up. Aaron is a good guitarist but I don't think he made the band. It is more of Ben's writing since he wrote almost everything.
That solo shoulda been in the fucking album version!!! :P
My View on things is that for the songs to be perfect it didn't need to show Fink's best abilities, Sure some of the songs could have had more kick ass Solo's in them, But ben was very focused on his song writing, and he did make some damn good music.
La mejor banda del universo
freaking epic and awesome ive got goosebumps now man
♥ im crying, i miss the old BB.... Mark kleparski, Chad Szeliga and aaron fuck yeah
Agreed, the old lineup was so much better in my opinion
I mean, the song is perfect without the solo but to have a second version with a solo would be godly
He should use that in live performance... amazing :)
This shouldda been the album version. The solo is badass and fits perfect
This is the breaking Benjamin we need
Loved them. I miss Chad on the drums a lot, Aaron was so good too
Someone please tab this solo and send it to me!
Me to
+Final Beta Bruh I just stumbled upon your comment and decided to click on your channel.
Love your videos!
Me too, m8!!
Awesome..BB needs this solos...
very unique sound and style.
THIS IS SO GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aaron reminds me of Chuck Schuldiner. Aaron is just as metal walking around in swim trunks, a Nighttime white top with no socks/shoes as Chuck is screaming into a mic with tight fitting jeans and socks and sandals. Much love to both! and I wish all the best in whatever future musical endeavors he persues although I wish the BB boys would set aside their differences.
damn that dude can play. wonder who he's playing with now.
Jason Belles Aaron writes solo, he just came out with a new album
🤣😂 Aaron Fink is now vocals and guitar - crazy talented, clearly.
Aaron felt like in a home rehearsal
looks like he hasn't showered yet.
but he's fuckin' great, Breaking Benjamin is great
Es una bestiaaaa😍
Aaron and Mark are now in a band called Stardog Champion with Nick Coyle (their original singer when they were in Lifer). Music is out soon.
Mark
New BB is awesome but i wish Fink was still in the band
Aaron Fink reminds me of DJ Ashba from sixx am playing that sterling music man guitar with some heavy sick guitar solos
2:25 in case anyone needs it
he did.... if you are kinda skilled with the guitar you get to appreciate his playstyle
defintely one of my favorite guitarists
I agree completely.
@bbfreak9 actually if you watch an older live performance of shallow bay Aaron does a really good solo in this song.
The style won't be too different. Ben writes the bulk of the material, however Aaron and Mark were 2 very good musicians whose playing really gave the songs an extra kick.
I don't think anyone who wasn't involved can pass judgement on the situation, considering how little is actually known to the public. We have no idea if there had been issues in the background for years. We don't know precisely how the firing went down.
That’s some Van Halen shit right there...
THat was FUCKiNG AWESOME!
He did. Listen to Anthem Of The Angels.
All I know is that this is the first band that I've ever listened to when I was a wee lad and currently and always will be my favorite band. I really hope they come back.
This guy was Breaking benjamin.
Finally, someone else who thinks the same way! Everyone else says that Aaron and Mark purposefully do nothing.
i hate reading comments on Breaking Ben videos cause all of it is just a controversy about why they broke up and what happened. it's frustrating. just listen to the music or watch them be who they are. don't argue about it.
Yes mam. We will do that from now on, thanks for telling us what to do, we would be lost without you
What effects does he use during the solo?
@antim46 Yeah it was :)
czcams.com/video/F-r5ISapBVM/video.html Here's another video of Aaron going in on a solo. I've watched this video so many times as well.
Which effect he use in the chorus? is a phaser?
Phaser and delay
thanks :)
Nobody knows it's just a Phase?
Sola muito
Well, you can't say they're finished until it is announced on Shallow Bay or anything else that wouldn't be considered a rumor. Yeah, without Aaron, their style might changed drastically, but I'd still love them. I just hope they have a heavy sound. And I don't know about a NIN style. It'd depend on the guitarist Ben gets.
So Cold?
Amazing! Those 6 dislikers are sucks)
Am i the only one that can hear Ben's voice in the head????
@antim46 Aaron was the lead guitarist. and yeah he got fired..
I love BB, but they could have been soooo much better if they all worked together to make music that exposed their full potential as artists. Its okay to showcase. Individual talent from time to time. I wish this solo was actually in Shallow Bay the real song.
suuuure you are
actually, you are not right. aaron helped ben to write, (he wrote mostly of we are not alone). mark never helped, and chad have his own band (ourafter i think it s called).
but it s true that aaron learned alot of ben (in high school not in band)
Because Ben writes everything and didn't really give him any room to do that.
solo lesson plz?
well thats not entirely true...ben did most of the writing for Dear Agony but Aaron helped ben alot in the other songs....more than chad or mark
Don't forget "Rain," Billy Corgan helped him on that too, and some songs on Dear Agony that Jasen Rauch helped him on. I totally agree with you. Ben wrote Blow Me Away by himself, so it's not his fault in particular, it was written by Ben and they decided to remix it without permission. What would you guys do if someone took something of your's and tweaked with it? Maybe even ruin it because I don't even like Syd Duran of Valora. She sounds screechy.
where is ben haha :D
This musta been circa 2006 cause chad didnt join the band til late 05
It was a lot more than that. They were making money off of that "remix" and not paying Ben any of the money they were making off of it. They did him pretty dirty especially since he's the chief song writer for the band and I don't blame him for what he did. To say he is a "complete moron" for wanting his fair share of a song he wrote is a little absurd. You'd want paid if you worked a full day wouldn't you?
@unfinishedBridges Well said. Ben Burnley will regret what he did one day that's for sure.
I hope they never come back, They have not a single song i dislike, I fear with any change it may tarnish that record, Ben sure has talent for writing, But Breaking Benjamin can't be changed, with new members i feel that the dynamic will change, and yes maybe with a different style.
Then again he could do something similar with amazing quality.
But BB has had their time, and it was great.
I don't think i need more songs from them.
ZigZagGamer Have you listened to any of the new songs by BB?
@itsamemario4 It was probably hard to do that while under a dictating frontman. I wish Aaron and Mark the best during their future musical careers.
Bro, Aaron Fink was so good that it takes Ben and 3 clowns to half ass the songs now. Breaking Benjamin is terrible with the new line up. I know cover bands that sound better then BB live now. I caught a show in Mississippi and left early it was so bad. Fink was BB with Ben's vocals before they failed him.
Yeah. I don’t even agree with the break up. If anyone’s fault it was the record company‘s because they basically forced it
Too much spotlight on him.
yes, the guy who never played such a badass solo during any concert or recording except for this private no-audience soundcheck has too much of a spotlight
@@heyyo6979 Decided to rewatch the video but saw that someone didn’t catch the joke 6 years after my comment.
Of course Ben got money from it. It was because he didn't give consent that they were fired. However, because the band wasn't able to tour for a while (and make money) due to Ben's illnesses, along with the band agreement that they had signed, that they had reason to do that. I agree with pivetlord13, it was only a remix. The way in which Ben handled the situation (especially firing them by email instead of face to face) was a bit cowardly and self serving.
He did not fire them, it was 3 members in the band. They had the right to do what the did they were 2/3 of the band. What he did was bullshit! He did not fire them or could he have. The band was broken up and he sued to have the name. Just like they had to pay Hummel when he was let go. They got paid and I'm sure paid well for king Benjamin to get the rights to use the name. People have no idea what really happened to a great band. So sad....
@@michaelbar570 he did fire them, and it was over email like the other guy said
@@threadworm437 he could not fire them, they were equal owners in the band and name. So he just stopped working with the band and sued to get the name. There was alot more to this story then people will ever know. He wanted Aaron Fink out of the band long before they broke up but the other guys would not vote him out....There is alot to what led to the break up.
I try my best to find justification in what Ben did... but I really just can't. I can't believe he did that. I love Ben, but I don't support that move at all.
Ben owns the band and the songs. It's all his shit. The other guys tried to release remixed shit without Ben signing off on it. It's not theirs to release. So he was absolutely justified in firing them all.
@@bradhargis2261 yep. and now they’re a bloated arena band 😂
Hopefully Aaron and Mark start something together. Ben really screwed up. It just wasnt right to fire someone you had been friends with for so long over something so little it wasnt even an issue! Ben was literaly being a baby about the whole thing. Aaron such a talented guitar player. Far more skill than ben. He even taught been how to play guitar better than what he used too!
LAME
Aaron is still one of the best Guitarplayers. The New Crew from Benjamin sucks. without Aaron, Mark and chad Breaking Benjamin sucks.
Fuck up mullet.
The new crew is extremely talented. Have you not seen the new Aaron play bass and sing? Granted, fink is an awesome player, but the new guys are awesome AF.
