I've lived in my house for over 30 years and have a cousin who has lived in her house for 75 years. It's not so easy to pick up and move. Lots of memories.
They give you the money and means to do so
@@DCM18money to carry memories along???

15 brave homeowners who fought corporate oppression *
Thanks, captain obvious did the title of the video give it away
Home is there where heart is, I've been learned home really is the best place in the world, it's good to be in home. 🏡❤
P.S. That Fido house looks like The flying house in the Disney Pixar Up movie. 🏠🎈
Good to see people stand up to developers and greedy kickback politicians. I live on the Coast ocean views and all the nice old cottages are being demolished for high rise apartments.
I need to be careful not to get downright worshipful. Bless these dear people for standing strong.
I stumbled upon this video and I'm originally from Toronto. I seen the half house. It's amazing and I heard the stories of it. The resilience of the family to me. That's a sign torontonians are stubborn people
All power to these homeowners. It's not their fault "developers" messed up and didn't secure ownership of the site properly. It's like there's some sort of conspiracy now to not let families live in the same house for generations like they used to.
I'd love to live in that 1/2 house! Love it! Coutts to the homeowners! Way to go!! ❤
How long and stunning do you keep your hair? I admire ladies who wear it like that, describe it please?
That was on China 🇨🇳theres 2 stories like this in China, I think, but there's another story like that, they refused to move and either did,or ended up like a home in a mine, the had a 50 foot drop off and there car was still in the driveway!
The mining company excavated all around their house! Nasty!! Yep,they didn't move, kept their house and couldn't use it,get in or out!
I was hoping that you'd have the story of Anne's Dairy Creme here. It's an establshment that battled developers and the state of Maryland, including "eminent domain" when the developers built Marley Station Mall on the south sid eof Glen Burnie, Maryland. Anne's is a small business that still makes their own homemade vanilla ice cream and shakes, as well as foot long hotdogs. I spent many an hour during my teenage years with lots of friends enjoying shakes and dogs. It was a great hangout for us. When the idea for the big mall came about, the dvelopers brought their government friends on board and tried to force them out using "eminent domain". Didn't work, Anne's beat it, and they had to redesign the mall around it. Still a great place for a vanilla shake and a footlong today.
thank you for this info ❤
I wonder how these people had the money to fight the big boys in court.
It seems to me this could all have been avoided, if developers would get a deal with ALL the owners BEFORE they start tearing down and building. Sadly, today Eminent Domain would probably just give them the homeowner's property.
Those are people that stand there ground 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Those home were their way before any construction of something new going up around them
Absolutely loved this video! Your channel remains a top favorite of mine, always fueling my creative inspiration. Keep up the amazing work! 💛📹
Damn, Asia has more land and property rights than America.
Sometimes the so called property developers have selfish motives and that’s why some home owners will not just give their homes for so called developers to use for an exchange of money.
Yeah, most of the time they're looking for bigger money
In Toronto Ontario, there are homes in a very old area that are only 8 feet wide!
You need to check out the house that remains by the Augusta National in Augusta, GA. There is a small house in the middle of everything near the golf course. They refused to sell and are still there.
The gate tower building looks pretty dope, would love to have that view
Lovely and God bless
Well worth watching.
a small loose meat hamburger shop is now surrounded by a storied parking garage in Ottumwa, Iowa attempts to remove or relocate the shop attracted stiff opposition, thus the parking garage was built over the top of the shop known as the Canteen!
A house in San Antonio, Texas, refused to sell when a shopping mall was built, so the developers just wrapped around it.
My first apartment complex was built around a private house.
Everyone can’t keep their homes like these people. The government just takes it no matter what they say.
amazing life
OK. I am from the East US coast, and Portland means Maine to me... At no time in the video was it made clear that this Portland is in Oregon.
I salute these people. Eminent domain is crap.
In Kenya, homes are brought down without compensation, and thea is nothing you can do about it.🤔
I heard that the taxes in Vera's home in Atlantic City went through the roof, so to speak. Consequently, she could not afford to pay the taxes thus lost her home anyway.
27:13 A young Indiana Jones enters the housing market
I would not even change marbles with Trump..
the M62 motorway?
Trump would probably have found a way to not pay her even if she had agreed to sell.😂
How dare anyone ever say no to Sir DJ Von SchitzNpants?
I just love it when I get a notification saying "Someone liked your comment!" or "Someone has just subscribed!" That really makes my day!!🌝💡💭
Didn't this channel make a list like this before??? At least they didn't get to lazy and make a mash up
This definitely feels like repeat. But it does seem a bit different than the video I remember.
That Shows Money is Not Everything's
Not stubborn 😊 not being forced out of her home. Communist style bullying of ordinary folk .
If you don't like something it's not communication
The Spiegel Halter’s house sure make the whole block looks ugly!
Yup! Sounds like something Trump would do. Forcing an elderly woman out of her home to build his monstrosities, only for HIM to prosper... so sad. He hasn't changed a bit! 🤮
Lol Trump still living rent free in your head 😂
@Eastunder Original hon... You're truly original.... 😉
She stayed in that house remember? If it was Biden he would of burnt it down!!
He was a democrat back then. Doesn't surprise me. He has since seen the light, i.e., democrats are actually ruthless, and I should change my ways. We all evolve.
You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.
An old statement says stupid is as stupid does
Well why don't you just give up your apartment and let them do something with it why didn't they just build around them
In india
They just take down the house by force..
Pathetic
Does this sound like Charlie sheen narrating this?
Now trump and his casinos are history.
Biggest screwups ever
Not going to watch, because the title that starts with Stubborn,,
When it should begin with brave people who stand up for their rights, and we all should stand with them .
The thumb nail pitcher shows that home owner there intention is to force them out .
That is a crime and that should be the focus.
Algeria does not equal France
Resist Chi-coms
I'm glad that they held out against Trump. He's screwed so many people over his self agrandisment. I've owned 3 houses and loved them all, but I wish I had been in the way of a developer. I'd love to get a multimillion check for a $300,000 property!
That woman kept her house. Biden would of burnt it down.
Nothing stubborn about it
Tdump lost again!
This is bull crap. Even if I understand what it must feel like to be forced out of your home (especially when you are old). This stubbornness should not be praised. It's just stupidity. Things change, and people can adapt. Refusing to change is a recipe for disaster.
The only exception would be a business like a bar or cafe, because of the social impact of such businesses. Individual homes, especially if not built and designed by the owner have no sentimental value.
I am saying this, even though I am uncomfortable with moving out of the area I spent my last 12 years living in. Every business owner in the area knows me, it's painful to leave. But I will deal with it.
I don't like the way your title was worded. Heres the deal...THEY DONT HAVE TO SELL!!!! I'm sick of the Gov just take take take!!! Come for my place and see what happens!!!!
