    This is a more upscale, reconfigurable instrument cluster and higher end infotainment system than what’s found in $100,000+ luxury SUV’s like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Lincoln Navigator. Absolutely beautiful set of displays. Great job GM!

      I was between the Wagoneer and the suburban. However, it scared me that the wagoneers were sitting in the dealer lot while the suburban are hard to obtain. I liked the wagoneer far more than the suburban. It felt more luxurious and stylish inside. However, just bcuz they weren’t selling as hotcakes, it made me think that the suburban was a better option. My husband’s opinion was, the suburban is tried and tested, go with it. So I purchased the Premier version. I am loving it so far. However, I can’t stop thinking how much I liked the wagoneer.

    • @CarsWithKyle
      @CarsWithKyle  Před 2 lety +1

      @@Dejesusluis87 They definitely both have their pros and cons. I tend to agree with your husband as far as known reliability with the Suburbans. Also, if you wanted to trade in for a Wagoneer, I bet your Suburban has held its value surprisingly well since you bought it!

    Wow Kyle. That was really worth watching. I'm on my second High Country (21 and now 23). Learned a lot since I sure do miss the book. I'm a 73 y/o granny and finding that the technology is good, it's a little discouraging at times. I came upon the console slidng back leaving a space large enough to set my lunch or purse in it along with a sliding drawer at the bottom. My '21 allowed me to choose to walk way and car would lock and set alarm together--is this the Passive Lock section? If there was anything else I could wish for, it would be to give us an option for the book again, and maybe a close section, a little more help by the staff at the dealer to take time, without so much rushing, to help us set them up completely. Enjoying my ride though!!!

      Hello Rose! I'm super glad that you found some useful stuff in this video!
      Honestly, props to you for staying up to date with the technology! 👏
      That is correct with the Passive Lock; just set that option to either On or On with Horn Chirp & you're set!
      I hear you with the physical owner's manuals... However, you can always find them out via Chevy's website: www.chevrolet.com/support/vehicle/manuals-guides
      When I am searching for a particular thing in the manual, I hit "Ctrl + F" and then can type in the bar what you are looking for and it will highlight all the parts in the book with that word.
      Hope this helps you!!! 😁

      Thanks Kyle, I love that option and really glad it's figured out. Also found out that I have the option to raise/lower the car for easier access to getting in/out of the car. And that there is the choice to move the center console (not sure if it's only on the High Country or not) with a small storage area. My idea for the console moved back is my lunch or purse could fit in it and it won't be rolling around. Just got my laptop back from shop and need to watch more of your YT's.

If I’m driving and want to switch from radio to Spotify or the like it’s a poor design, so many clicks and the audio source menu is tiny and easy to miss when driving. • @krelllab6366
    @krelllab6366 Před rokem +5

    Thank you for doing the video. There are several design mistakes in the system I can point out. There's a volume graphic that pops up and covers the bottom 1/4 of the screen when you change the volume. This completely unnecessary graphic covers up your radio presets and will also cover up navigation and other information. If you know where the station presets are, you can push them even with the graphic there, if you remember where they are. The graphic for the volume should be much much smaller or better yet, not even there at all. There is an adjustment to set the chime volume. The lowest it will go is 40%. The correct way of doing this would allow you to set those annoying chime volumes to zero. In the lighting area, there's no option to disable the Daytime Running Lights. (There's no evidence they improve safety, they are just a decoration.) Better vehicles will always have this feature. Be cautious using anything Google. They make a PERMANENT record of everywhere you go and the route that you took. That information can be sold, or used against you someday. Best advice is to never sign into it at all. For Navigation, use Apple Maps or Waze. These vehicles do have the universally hated stop-start technology. Fortunately, multiple methods are readily available to disable. I do NOT do any software updates that GM offers. They provide no details as to what these updates do. (Unlike Apple that provides details for every software update.) When you do the update you cannot go back it if you hate the changes they've made, which is likely. Overall, I do like the vehicle. But it could be better.

    • @waylandsphere76
      @waylandsphere76 Před rokem

      Agree with a lot of your thoughtful points made. Plot twist: Google bought Waze. And here's the thing, whether have iPhone or Android, unless you've rooted your phone, know what doing or can follow instructions of trusted devs, there are things like Facebook app which still runs broadcast receivers even if it's "turned off" or "uninstalled" - unless run a script on a rooted phone with a custom rom. Even then, "phones" these days come with so many sensors that it's hard for devs on the side to keep up, and genuinely agree with many of your points about a few design flaws, but like it or not (can run DNS qache, ViperFx audio and the like) anytime open any browser there's a lot going on in the background, and while part of me appreciates fighting the good fight, another part of me thinks so what, adapt & realizes these things, can move forward without being naive to think one is bad and the other is good - yes there are things that can be done to mitigate, but one would have to have military grade encryption with sophisticated tech - or be creative about approach/mindset while accepting some hard & take the good with truths, take the good with the bad. Anyway, can understand where you're coming from, so don't take this the wrong way, pleas. Have a good one ! Your youtube comment just gave -10 social credit points btw 😂 gotta have a sense of humor in this world and be thankful bc it could always be worse and always be better (not to diminish any given trials & tribulations one is facing). Cheers !
