Flathead Lobster Seafood Feast Over Sydney Australia | The SkyFeast Buffet at Sydney's SkyTower

- Being from the "land up above", I've traveled to the "land down under". I hope we can embark on this adventure together as I visit my family from coast to coast in Australia from Sydney to Melbourne and then to the Gold Coast.
But before visiting the uncles, aunties, and cousins, I got a day or two to do some exploring. Visiting the iconic Sydney Opera House, taking in the sights of the magnificent skyline, and visiting their amazing Chinatown - perhaps the best in the world.
But as all nice as it is to take in the views, it'll be nice see the city from high above - where the views come to you. And as luck would have it, I've found just the place at Sydney's Skytower that just happens to be hosting a massive buffet feast! It's called the SkyFeast and aptly named. And it gets better because it is a luxurious buffet that akin to it's counter parts in Las Vegas! Wonderful roasts, fresh seafood and luxury items such as lobsters -- in this case, Australia's Flathead lobsters otherwise known as something called a Morton Bay Bug. Not the best name, but a delicious delicacy.
If you happen to be in the land down under, it is definitely worth the visit!

Tip: no “shrimps” in Australia. You have to call them PRAWNS. 🦐
Enjoy! ☺️
Gotcha😉
"I'll slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for you" 🦐🦐🦐
This buffet felt very rushed. Probably best to frequent buffets without time limits. Despite that, always a pleasure to dine along with you, Tim. 👍🏻🌹👍🏻
It’s interesting because what I’m finding is that restaurants tend to have a time limit whether it’s a buffet or not. You’re only given about 90 minutes at regular restaurants as well.
Didn’t seem rushed at all. Seemed like he enjoyed his meal and sampled all stations in a timely manner.
Definitely. 1.5 hr is too short for a buffet
@@Erackness1if you are big eater
Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. Tim has a great demeanor, is respectful of the staff and is funny.
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Really enjoy the places in Australia so far.
Love Tim Lees awesome channel . He never lets me down ! 😊❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment🙏
What an incredible dining experience! All those delicious foods & desserts, plus a high in the sky tour! Really cool! Thanks Tim!
I was actually a little hesitant because I thought it was more of a tourist trap. However, that was not the case, and the food was delicious.
You,re so respectful and nice to all the workers…..soooo good🤩😁
Welcome to Australia Tim! Hope you have a fantastic time here! 🎉
Thank you so much and really enjoying it. The Chinatown in Sydney is beautiful. Probably the best in the world.
Tim, I love your choices that you pick and the way you explain about foods that aren’t seen every day. Thank you for sharing the city too.❤❤❤
That was the first time I’ve ever had Morton Bay bugs! Really enjoyable and certainly won’t be the last. Really enjoy discovering the new foods too.
Tim , what you’re doing 💐 , you are improving that happiness is something to be shared. Thanks a million from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦🙏
You’re very kind and thank you so much for your wonderful comment. All the best to you and yours.🙏
So happy to see you in my neck of the woods, Tim. I hope you keep enjoying your stay in Australia 😊
Really incredible. The food quality and standards are so much higher, and the people are so much friendlier as well.🙂
Mortan bay bugs and Balmain bugs are super seafood - sweeter than lobster or crab. There is a reason they are super expensive here in Australia. They are delicious.
They are delicious and certainly my favorite. I’m really surprised that they offer so many of these at the Buffet.
@@TimLeeLetsGo Love your videos Tim and so so glad you loved our 'bugs' - super sweet and delicious! Keep up the great work! xxxx
Happy family's reunion well done Tim 👍 ❤🎉😮
Tim, you are the man. Keep up the good work.
Wow! Australia
A beautiful country, and a pretty nice continent too
Welcome to Sydney, my hometown!
Thank you so much and such a beautiful city
Wow, you’re back with a new video in Australia.Amazing.🧐😋🆒👍🏻👏👋

Love love LOVE your channel! Thank you for ‘taking me’ to soooo many amazing places ❤❤❤
Thank you so much again! Really grateful to get to visit family here🙂
Way to go, Tim. Glad to see you enjoyed another seafood buffet feast! Sydney looks amazing.
Australian seafood is the BEST in the world. And yes I've eaten seafood all over the world... our meat too. Lamb, beef etc.
😂 phooey, alot ALOT of seafood u eat is either farmed, or brought in from asia
@@user-hk2vp7il4o i ONLY buy Aussie seafood - they have to say where it's from.
Enjoy and stay safe. Always a pleasure watching you
Thank you so much… Plenty of sunscreen
That is one delicious looking buffet. I’m ready for a trip to Australia!
You would absolutely love it! And by the way, relatively close to Thailand🙂
I can't believe they didn't precrack the shells on that difficult crab for the patrons. 😮
You get a cracker. Cracking it for you loses its appeal. Cmon now
Oh, the shells went flying everywhere!
@@TimLeeLetsGo haha, I bet!
Awwww wish I knew you were coming to Australia...Canadian here in NSW for the last 16 years...if you get a chance...Wollongong down the coast from Sydney is beautiful!!
Your vlogs are really nice and calm. Great narratives.
More power to your channel!
Thank you so much and just grateful to get to visit and share these places
Good that you visited Australia, ❤
Really great to visit such a beautiful country and to see the family

It was a nice experience… Those Morton Bay bugs were delicious
tim this is a great review ,the food looked great ,the sea food was amazing ,thank you for this review
It was the first time trying the Morton Bay bugs or the flathead lobster. Very good experience.😋
Wow wow nice! In Australia……. Lucky you. Enjoy your travel and love to watch your vlogs
Getting to visit family and it is such a pleasure🙂
@@TimLeeLetsGo awesome! I’m glad that Yuit did. Yay! Smile
Really lovely..very much reminded me of the first time I went up in the Space Needle 40+ years ago ❤...food looked great...safe travels,Tim...can't wait to see more of Australia ❤❤❤
You know, this is exactly what they need at the Seattle space needle. A buffet!
WOOOHOOO Tim!!! You're down under at last! Grouse looking kaimoana you got to dine on in beautiful Sydney my friend....and it's only a hop, skip and a jump even further down under, to Aotearoa New Zealand! Do ya reckon you'll make it this far Tim??? Or perhaps on your next trip to this neck of the woods😊Anyway, make the most of your time with your whanau and remember....watch out for those cute but dangerous 'drop bears'🤣😂🤣
Thank you so much and really enjoying the time there. May not be able to make New Zealand as a lot of time is spent with the family all over the country. Hopefully and likely will visit again because it has just so gorgeous.
Love your channel. This buffet was not my favorite but the views of Australia are breathtaking! Thank you Tim!
Beautiful scenery in Australia and the food is pretty good too! Really glad to try something called the Morton Bay bugs here😋
Hey welcome to my home . Hope you get to Melbourne, the coffee capital of Australia 👍🏼☕️
I’m glad you visited my city of Sydney.Moreton bay bugs are just another crustacean,Australia have beautiful lobsters I hope you get to try while you are here
I was just around the Sydney Fish market… Gosh, $250 per kilo for a king crab
Wow,yes not cheap,I do love the fish markets though, great seafood,I’m glad you had time to go there!
If I ever make it back to Sydney, this will be a great eating venue and the bonus is the view. Thanks!
Yum and double Yum.
😋🙏
I'm here early. What a great view, with so much great food at that buffet. It reminds me of the CN Tower in Toronto, or the Chateau Lacombe in Edmonton. Cheers, Tim and God Bless! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️🇨🇦
It is kind of nice to explore and see the city from high above. I wonder if the towers in Toronto and Edmonton have buffets🤔😉
Appreciate you filming a timed buffet- can’t be easy. I’m sure it helps to let management/staff know of your channel, etc. maybe they will relax on the timing a bit.
It will alway be Centrepoint tower to me hehehe. I remember going to the revolving restraunt as a kid. My poor mum got vertigo 😅
😆. It is a beautiful tower and I’m happy to say that the buffet was great. I was a bit concerned because it was more of a touristy area, but the food was tasty.
I like knowing places to go for when my kids are here! Thanks for sharing xo
I hope you get a chance to visit. I was afraid that this would be a bit of a tourist trap, but the food was very good.
If you use a fork and pull from the thin part of the tail, the bug meat comes out much easier 😊
That’s a pro tip! Thank you so much
Beautiful view! ❤ I see why it has a time limit. I would get distracted by the view and stay all day.
I guess you’re right! I could’ve spent the whole day there…
Welcome to Australia Tim!!! If you’re still in Sydney right now I apologise for the terrible weather. It’s more like Melbourne atm 😭
If you have time I’d recommend a trip to burwood for fantastic regional Chinese food.
Also if it’s a sunny day, a return trip to manly on the ferry is a very scenic and inexpensive way to see the harbour.
Enjoy your time here and thanks for visiting!!!
Thank you so much! It’s interesting because the weather in Melbourne is so similar to the weather in Vancouver. My cousin Bede suggested Burwood for the Chinese food and the skewers as well. Thank you so much.🙏
Love that you’re in Australia Tim! Come to Perth next 😃
Welcome to Australia I know you will have a wonderful time, each State is very different I know you will enjoy our diversity of food with our many cultures Enjoy 🦘
I heard the coffee isn’t bad in Melbourne…
$80 Pricey but Worth the Million Dollar View!!
✌✌
Yeah, it is a little bit of a touristy area. Although for $80 with all the seafood, as well as a view, it is a wonderful experience.
$80 is cheap for seafood
I ate at that revolving restaurant 25 years ago when it was a regular restaurant, not a buffet. It revolves at exactly the right speed; the view at night is spectacular!
I've been reading that it was named differently before as well. It was a nice way to catch the views. I can imagine how amazing it would look at night!
Tim, Great looking food. Oysters appeared tasty, lobster ahh, Lamb w gravy mmmm. Salt n pepper squid mouthwatering. Macha cake looked interesting. Now I am hungry. Best
This was a touristy area and I was a little bit concerned, but they did an amazing job with the food. Very tasty and I thought it was great value, especially for the first time trying the Morton Bay bugs or I think they’re also known as a flathead lobster.
Welcome to Australia Tim! I am in Melbourne, Im glad you've come to explore our beautiful country, and thats a nice buffet. Ive never been never been to Sydney, I'll be going this September. Enjoy our stay.
Really enjoying the time in Australia… I heard Melbourne has something called a magic coffee!?!?
Tim- I am a vegetarian yet I watch all your videos. You are genuinely such a nice person. Love watching you! Much love from California!
Thank you so much! I am quite impresses with all the great produce in Australia! Very fresh and of high quality :-)
Yes, thank you Tim 🤩!
🙏
Welcome to Australia =) As someone from Melbourne I really cant wait to see what you thought of it and how there is a larger food and coffee culture here over Sydney.. plus Melbourne is just better all round ;-)
It’s interesting because at the hotel I’m staying in, we get coffee in the form of little teabags. It taste like water and I suspect they put some instant coffee in there to get the color.😃😉
@TimLeeLetsGo Oh Tim please don't drink those horrible coffee bags they are absolutely disgusting. There are so many great coffee shops around Melbourne, especially in the small lane ways hidden almost. For a great buffet my personal favourite is at The Langham Hotel Melba restaurant or The Conservatory at Crown Casino. The suburb Richmond and Bridge Road is 5-10 minutes from the CBD and has amazing Asian food 👌🏼
Welcome to Sydney, Australia where I use to live and work! What a wonderful buffet you had. Don’t forget to try out our famous Aussie pie and hamburgers. If you have time check out the Sydney Fish Markets with the abundance of fresh seafood to try!
I did get a chance to visit the Sydney Fish market and it was spectacular. Thank you so much and it sounded like you had a great time in Australia as well.
Great job, Tim! Nice to see an Australian buffet. You're becoming a professional jet lagger! lol
Thanks, Bill and Lisa! This is a trip to see family and I flew on something called Jetstar. Apparently, they are nothing like Delta … they charged for everything including the ability to watch the screen in front of you. I was cautious not to take deep breathes during the flight in case there was a charge for oxygen.😉. Australia is beautiful and wondering if you both will be visiting soon!?
@@TimLeeLetsGo Though it sounds like they have a lot of add-on charges, getting you to your destination safely is what matters most. We have a direct to Sydney from LA, so maybe one day!
Not sure if you're still there but it looks like we're sharing the same weather as in Vancouver/Sydney. I love watching your adventures!
I actually found out that the weather in Melbourne and Vancouver are very similar. Very pleasant, nice and cool, and not humid.😃
One hour and a half is usually enough time for me at a Buffet. I don't film so I can enjoy the food. Thanks for showing us this Buffet 😋
its interesting how different the seafood looks there. same but yet very different.
It’s nice to see the different variety and they were tasty. I am really impressed with all the fresh seafood in Sydney.
Years ago it was called Centrepoint Tower. Back then they used to offer school excursions for senior high school students studying Hospitality and Business Studies. Another teacher and I took about 25 students there. They handed out educational packages with facts and figures about the tower as well as food facts etc. we got to tour the restaurant kitchens which were not on the same floor as the restaurant. From memory they were in the basement. I don’t know if that is still the case now. The prepared food was sent up and finishing touches done in the smaller kitchen on the restaurant level. The students had a great time and it included lunch in the buffet restaurant at a special school excursion rate.
The dessert and lobster look good.
There’s something soothing about your voice. I’m not sure why. You’re just generally likeable I guess.
Went to Sky tower in March, was a little squeeze in the lift going up,but food was great, but one thing missing from dessert and that was pavlova, but the views we're amazing.
Nice review. That's a Balmain Bug btw (Honey bugs are a species of Balmain Bug- Ibacus brucei), the eyes are in the middle. The Moreton Bay Bug the eyes are on the side.
Welcome to Australia Tim- You should try the Buffet at the Crown Casino at Barangaroo Point Darling Harbour
The need for haste at such a line featuring place would've totally stressed me out, to top it off the time limit stops you from being able to soak in the view! The seafood looked great, but this place seems less than worth the price. Thank you for sharing regardless mate! 🙌💕
It was quite a good experience all in all, and it was busy though it was the weekend. If I wasn’t filming, 90 minutes would be plenty of time. It’s interesting in Australia because almost all the restaurants I’ve been to whether they are buffets or not so far require a time limit either for 90 minutes to 2 hours.
The Indian dishes looked delicious. I wish you'd tried them!😊😊
Sanjeev is certainly the master of naan
Oh man I wish I'd have been able to come with you. Wish I even knew you where here...
Welcome down under Tim Lee, Australia welcomes you**😘🧋🦞🍲🍤🐙🥗😸🥬**
Thank you so much much and really grateful to visit such a beautiful place
Hey! You’re in my neighbourhood! Enjoy dear friend!
Centrepoint is the offical name for that tower, haven’t been up there since I was 7!
Absolutely love all the places in Australia! Really noticed the high-quality of food and standards. Really friendly people as well.
We do have good food, I’m so glad you’re enjoying yourself.
Those honey-bug crab things looked weird but the flesh was lovely. Looked around, might be a Balmain bug. Lamb was perfect. Making a leg of lamb for my birthday in a few days. Hope it looks that good. A 90 min time limit is fine, think an hour is a bit short. Hello from a cloudy Oregon.
Wishing you an early happy birthday! A leg of lamb is such a wonderful celebratory dish! Kindest regards to you and just as a heads up, the weather in Melbourne is actually very similar to that of Vancouver and Oregon
@@TimLeeLetsGo Thank you Tim! Melbourne is very south and I can understand the similar weather to Vancouver. Enjoy fall in Melbourne.
Welcome to Australia ! SkyTower nice ! 3:57
I'm literally planning a trip to Sydney from NZ just to try this restaurant. Shouldn't have watched when hungry haha
It is interesting because I thought this would’ve been a tourist trap because of the revolving restaurant, etc., but the food was very good and having those flathead lobsters was a treat😋
Hi Tim! Great content, your videos are awesome ! Random question, How many buffets do you think you been in general ? How did you get into them as well? Hope all is well !
Thank you so much for reaching out! I suspect I might have gone to around 50- 100! But can’t really be sure. Initially, it started because I shared a Buffet video to make a friend who wasn’t able to join us jealous… and CZcams was the only platform where I can upload a large video😉,
Hi Tim, I have a few questions for you currently I’m enjoying your video from Australia. The food looks very good. Did you try kangaroo meat? Are you enjoying Australia? I don’t remember you ever going there before. And what was your favorite dish on the buffet?
Thank you so much! I was in Australia about 14 years ago for my cousin’s wedding. Really enjoyable time and to be honest, I had kangaroo back then, but it wasn’t my favorite. Really happy to have tried them Morton Bay bugs at the Buffet. Very enjoyable and I think that would be my favorite. Even beats lobster!
fully enjoy you're content very informative & you have such a great demeanour when are you coming to
New Zealand we have amazing food if you thought the seafood was good in Australiayoure going to be upended by our delicacies keep up the great work Tim 👍👍
Thank you so much and was really hoping to visit New Zealand! Just not enough time to travel and spend time with the family.
❤❤❤

Ciao Tim 👋👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️⛵️
Cheers 🦐🦀🐙🦞🍷😋👍✅
I think I’m getting closer and closer to Greenwich mean time 🙂
Welcome to Sydney tim
Thank you so much and having an amazing time.
$25 USD for all you can drink in 1.5hrs isn't too bad, esp since it includes mixed drinks, vs just beer & house wine (or mimosas).
It is quite a good deal and the purchasing power of the US dollar in Australia is quite high. Very enjoyable evening.
@@TimLeeLetsGo I would be asking to try all the popular AU drinks, or local alcohols that's not common in Canada or US. Just be sure to catch a cab or Uber back to the hotel to be safe.
Welcome to Oz mate...i think because we are so isolated our food is underated but i can garuantee if you spend enough time here you will dispel that myth especially if you come to Western Australia and try our seafood....Enjoy
Usually if you are in Sydney, they are Balmain Bugs, if you are in Queensland, they are usually Moreton Bay Bugs, they are both Butterfly Fan Lobsters. The name depends on where they were caught.
Fantastic video...too bad you had a 90 min time limit to enjoy your meal 😢...food looked delicious...have a great time in Australia, safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗❤
Thank you, Jade! Definitely had to make most efficient use of time🙂
Hate being rushed
Wow it is crowded. I'm surprised you were able to move around the buffet.
The lines move pretty quickly, and I was actually tempted to start with dessert first, but that might mean watching the video backwards😉
They hit you with the bananas all the way across the world! 😂
Welcome home. Please enjoy
Feels like home😃
Do they ever tell you leave when you're overtime?
Tiiim 😃
🙏
I have not ate at a buffet in years. Going to Las Vegas next month and would like any recommendations. I know LV was once known for their buffets. Now I’m hungry to eat at a buffet.
Ooooh ahh welcome to Australia Tim. Are you doing the Brisbane buffet. My home town.
Thank you so much! Would love to visit Brisbane but I think time would be tight with meeting family members. I think another visit is in order 🙂
Are 90 minutes in the Southern hemisphere the same as 90 minutes in the Northern hemisphere? Looks like a very unique buffet!
Hi Tim I'm not a big fan of timed buffets but the food looked pretty good the place looked a little full wnd crammed for you my friend but great video thanks for sharing
Thanks again, Calvin! Yes, it was busy, but the line moved pretty quickly. This was on the weekend, so it was kind of expected.
Slipper lobster!
Is that what they call it?
@@TimLeeLetsGo In Hawaii they do. 😁
When you were walking at the beginner, what was the castle like building behind you?
It’s called St Mary’s Cathedral😊
Australian seafood bugs (not insects) are the best seafood on earth! There - I said it. Hahahaha
I concur😉😋
He was so rushed and eats so little that he missed out on reviewing most of the hot foods!
Skip the darn salads, cold foods, and French fries and focus on the good stuff. 🍗🍛🍖🍠🍝🍤🍣🍲🍜🍰🍫🍪🍧💓💓
