Central Line Dressing Change - Nursing Skills:
In this video we’re going to talk about central line dressing changes. In this particular video, we’re going to look at a PICC Line, but the same strategy is also used for a Central Line. Remember the dressing should be changed every 7 days or as needed for peeling or soiling
This includes PICC lines. Sterile technique must be maintained to prevent Central-Line Associated Bloodstream Infections (CLABSI)
We love you guys! Go out and be your best selves today! And, as always, happy nursing!

Very helpful, thanks 😊
Thankyou very helpful
Thank you.
Nurse broke sterility multiple times
Yep
Comments like these should include when and how she broke sterility so they can revise it and make a new video.
@@divinelyfocused dropped left hand below waist line, touched left hand to dirty line and bed, then touched sterile scrubber and her sterile right hand to name a few at 2:55 and around 3:00
Thanks for sharing but close up please
I wish the camera zoomed into the area so we could see the procedure better.
Video is not the best as we can hardly see what the nurse is doing. Could you please bring the camera closer next time so we can see what exactly you are doing. Thank you
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!! I COULD HARDLY SEE THE PROCEDURE BECAUSE CAMERA TOOOO FAR UGHHHHH
This video has the nurse touching the central line several times and breaking sterility several times. After she places her sterile gloves on, she drops her hands below her waist several times...
This video will make students fail validation. Also why is it so far away?
There is a closer camera angle? Why use the far one?
She broke field multiple times
It's a nursing procedure or doctors procedure please tell
Nursing
Keep it sterile. Keep it still. --Gandalf, RN
I can't see what she is doing.Hope next time the video is focusing on the actual procedure
Totally not sterile
shouldnt they be supine?
they can be but it’s not a requirement for this procedure!
You don’t write on the patient as that is a dignity issue. Name, date, time on sticker before placing on the patient.
WHAT NOT TO DO lol
Yeesh, lots of contamination points in this video. I didn't even make it to the end before stopping and finding a different one.
Which one did you find and use?
To be honest, they’re all pretty bad. I’ll see if I can find the one that I found to be the least bad 😂

camera was too far away to what she was doing
Too far away! Can’t really see what you’re doing.
Broke sterile field too many times to count. Also, not correct way to use alcohol swab cleaning technique. Geez, pray your patient doesn't get an infection. Not good video for students preparing for skills pass-offs.
@Morgan Campbell Hi could you please explain to me what you mean? I'm new to all of this, and I'm not the seeing the times the sterile field was broken. I'm not criticising you, I honestly just need help, have an upcoming Nursing exam. Thanks a lot.
you should see the german way of doing these procedures... you just want to cry!
whats the point of video if not showing it in close range?
Camera too far away we cannot see what you’re doing 😂
1.) HOB not flat.
2.) Sterility broken multiple times.
3.) Far away, unable to see what is happening at times.
Good luck w this one.
Recommend to show real skills. Reduce explanation to fewer words. There can not be "happy" nursing, but professional nursing.
No one could see what you’re doing. Next time try keeping your camera better focused
