- This young elephant Gluay Hom having spent years standing on a concrete floor. All legs have injuries which worsened because he never was unchained, now starts a new life at Elephant Nature Park. Gluay Hom arrived to the sanctuary on August 7 ,2019

I'll NEVER understand how people can be so cruel to such a majestic creature. Thanks and many blessings to ALL involved in the rescue of this young elephant. He's already beginning to feel free and enjoy what is a natural way of life.

I remember signing a petition to get this poor elephant to a sanctuary, I'm so happy he finally made it there! I hope with time and care that his injuries will heal and that he will have the happiness he so deserves! Please everyone, if you care about animals then sign petitions to save all animals! 🐘❤️

For a moment I didn’t think that the man was ever going to stop listing this poor little guys maladies. What he really needs is love, and the healing will come. I cannot believe how insensitive some of these people are to the elephants. They need our help.
It's all so very wrong and cruel what he's been through. Bad humans stealing him from his mother and mistreating him and nearly crippling him...he's only ten. He needs a mother figure and family so badly. Thank you for rescuing Gluay Hom, he's safe now, hopefully he'll recover mentally and physically. Poor Elephant 🐘 had to stand on concrete most of his life. Who does that to an Elephant 🐘 and why? That is just wrong and of course, his legs hurt because of this. Thanks for saving his life and giving him a better environment where he can feel the natural earth under his feet!
I am so pleased to see this precious elephant at ENP. I know he has a long way to go to get his health back, but at least he now has a future. Thanks to National Geographic, the petition via Change.org and those who contributed financially. It just shows that if people work together something positive can be done. 💕🐘💕🐘💕
I met this baby elephant at Samutprakan Crocodile farm Thailand last month in July and m very happy that he has got a wonderful place now. Prayers are answered Alhamdulillah
It made me so happy to see that he had been rescued-and to see this, I hope he is living it up and getting used to a future rather than dying in that hell he was in.
What would be amazing is to see a before-and-after ... maybe follow up with some of the elephants after they've had time to heal physically and emotionally and see how far they've come.

I wonder where his mother is? Elephants grow up at about the same rate humans do, so at 10 years old he is still a child. This breaks my heart.

I’ve been to Thailand before and I always see elephants on souvenirs and all that as a sign of their country. But in reality elephants are treated like crap. Like their so smart and idky ppl treat them so bad for entertainment. What a shame for them. Those people are literally making themselves embarrassing. This is my dream. If i become rich and famous i ll open my own elephant sanctuary. Here in india alot of elephant and people get killed because of conflict. There is a renowned elephant sanctuary in India, Wildlife SOS. They even opened a new elephant hospital for captive, injured elephants recently, a first in India. You should check them out! And you don't need to become rich or famous to do this because most sanctuaries are run on donations. All you need to have is the passion and drive to be involved in such projects. :)

Billie Bergmann he was dropped off only a couple weeks ago. This rescue always makes notes on their YT videos if the elephant has since passed away. He couldn’t have asked for a better place to recuperate. If I were you I’d be looking for a place to check myself into also, and work on that nasty streak you developed.
