    THATS JUST ABOUT THE BEST JOB I"VE SEEN FINDING A PLACE FOR THE CONTACTOR ON A 500 /700 GRIZZLY WITH POWER STEERING

      Yea Robert it's about the only place if you want it out of the mud and water. There really is not any room left under the front cover.

    High Steve. I put my solenoid under the back right side of fender. There's a little square box area. Very very tight fit as well. And used the looped Black wire protector stuff to cover the whole length of wire and on top of that I wrapped electrical tape all the way through Just to make sure water wouldn't set in If I got swamped. Plus sprayed barrier protective lub on all my main contacts. If this makes sense.I had fun doing it all. It's a 2011 Yamaha Grizzly 550 as well and PLUS I love your old bike. I remember them! . Great job on the Winch install.

    Nice job! I am installing a Quadrax winch that looks the same as the the Viper on my Grizzly 700. It was really helpful to see the nice work you did especially with the contactor location and swapping out the connectors for the waterproof ones.

    Very good sir, fixing to tackle this same job on a 02 Grizzly 660, I was wondering what to connect the rocker switch power wire to, I too didn't want to tie into the main harness. Thanks for the tips! Your video made my day! 👍🏻

      treyh007 I don't consider the switch as part of the harness, it plugs into the harness. If you don't have a power outlet I would probe the switch for the power wire. Sorry I don't know the color but you can find it easily with a volt meter. Thanks for the comment.

    I am in the process of mounting the same winch to the same machine, i am using your idea on the contactor position. i assumed you attatched the wires before you mounted it to the plastic? Great job man!!!

      Yes I had all the wires attached before I dropped it down in there.

    I’m trying to figure out how to connect the rocker switch to the power wire properly. I’m not very knowledgeable with wiring so if you could be detailed that would be great thanks!

    My 12vt accessory line has a short and I can't keep a fuse in it, so would I hook the red rocker switch wire to the red ignition wire? Thanks

    I have the same year. quick question. To the right of the battery you have a silver item about the same size as the battery. Mine does not have that. What is it?

    Looks great! I am doing the same with my 550. How did you get that contactor down there? Did you have to take the radiator hose off? Or did you find a way to get it up underneath?

      Jason Bender Hi Jason, pull down the description and click on the other video I made for that. It shows how to get the contactor in there.

    Did i need to have the ignition swintch plug with the red wire so i can use my winch without the switch open???

    • @mrfixit007
      @mrfixit007  Před 10 lety

      I don't have a wiring diagram for it but if you have 12 volts at the red wire with the switch off the winch will work all the time. Just be aware of the safety situation if you have any children around.
