Blending Fur with Coloured Pencil (Real Time)

In this video I explain a little bit about how I blend colored pencils together to create the colors that I needed for this Bay Horse. The demonstration is in real time with a voice over to explain the step by step stages.
For this project I am using Fabriano Artistico HP Watercolour Paper (300gsm, Extra White).
I am also using Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils in the following colours:
Warm Grey I, Cinnamon, Burnt Sienna, Caput Mortem Violet, Dark Indigo, Dark Sepia, Black.

Excellent video. Great drawing. Do you only use polychromes pencils! Do you ever use a Solvent for blending! Lastly, what, if any, is the difference between blending and glancing! Thank you. Cheers.
I mainly use, Polychromos, Caran D'Ache Luminance, Pablo's and Derwent Lightfast pencils. I never use solvent for blending. I'm not sure what 'glancing' is as I've never heard of that, sorry! Hope this all helps! Glad that you liked the video. Happy Drawing!

Wil lthis technique work with pastelmat and have yo u done a lighy grey horse before if so, wil ltnat real time tutorial be on CZcams? That horse is a beauty!
Thank you Crystal! Layering works well on Pastelmat but I don't tend to use the 'circular' blending strokes that I use on the Fabriano as I find that these show more on the paper which is not what I want. I keep the blending stokes in the same direction as the fur. You may not need quite so many layers on Pastelmat either as the paper holds on to a bit more of the pigment from the pencil. Yes, I have created a light grey horse and I'll have regular videos coming soon on different papers which will be in real time as well as some time lapses!
@@TERESAJOYFINEART That's sounds great and wil l really help me! Do you just do horses or do you do other animals like exotic ones, pets etc. I'm struggling with a white rabbit at the moment.
