Evolution of Scratch (Animation)

I've been using Scratch for 8 years, and it is one of my favorite platforms, thank you Scratch for all the amazing memories!!
I started this animation 2 years ago in 2021 (when I was 14), I had animated roughly up to 0:40 and also 1:18 - 1:42.
I recently found a 17 second clip of this animation I rendered out 2 years ago and promptly uploaded it to my channel, shortly afterwards I decided I should continue the project! After a month of hard work it is finally here, I hope you all enjoy!

The whole video was animated on 0 budget, using free software! The only cost was my time...
I used Blender for all the animation and Hitfilm Express for some compositing and as the video editing software
(EDIT: Apparently Hitfilm Express was discontinued in 2022 and the company that owns it is running it into the ground, I do not reccomend it!
I can't speak for their quality as I've never used either, but I've heard Davinchi Resolve and Kdenlive are both great AND FREE video editing software, use one of those!)
Please do not reupload the full video or clips of the full video on their own, clips of the video are fine if part of a bigger video.

This video reminded me of how long I've been in this community, and seeing how it evolved over time. This was very cool for more than the nostalgia value, the music the animation and the time you put into this really says it all.

I joined scratch in the 1.4 days. that was back in 2013. those were the good times. I still remember the first big time 'square that jumps around and avoids spikes' platformer that essentially established the entire genre on the website. made by the same guy who wrote "the taco incident". if you know, you know.
This gets me so much memories. Scratch was my entire childhood, that's how I became the current me. Thanks for bringing back so much nostalgia

I’m not the most involved with the scratch community so I’m not the best person to do that (It took a while to find all the projects featured near the end, I had to ask some others more involved in the community) but youll be glad to know im making a behind the scenes video that’ll reveal some of the tricks i used to make this video!

Problably, it'll come in 2025, cuz in 2007 Scratch 1.0 was launched, in 2013, 6 years later Scratch 2.0 was launched and in 2019, Scratch 3.0 was launched

I think a good portion, if not all of the newest spiderverse movie was animated using Blender. It’s a super powerful piece of software! We’re super lucky that it’s free and open source
Blender is for 3D not 2D animation

note: if you change langauage to arabic in scrtach , it wwill be like scratch 2.0 but the scratch logo, and thelists are in the right which absolutely the blocks are flipped
