- This time on Knucklehead Garage we are back on Project Prerunner Bronco. We start off with a Desolate Motorsports DIY cage, throw on some BFG 37 KM3s, and take it for a rip at Stony Lonesome OHV Park to get the shocks dialed. We brought Jake Burkey in for the Shock Tuning session and couldn't be happier with how this Ford Bronco Prerunner Flies! How do you think the Busted Knuckle Bronco will do out at King of the Hammers? We can't wait to find out!

Man, I had almost given up. Thought you guys were never going to finish the Bronco! This has been one of my favorite builds on CZcams. Given me motivation to modify my '96 Bronco.

I just recently bought 96 bronco Eddie Bauer 5.8 it has a 2 inch lift very Cherry painted black gold tinted windows has brand new black and gold interior.

So when I rolled my 78 bronco. The top of windshield was on 4wd shifter in floor. The rear fiberglass top was fine. Please put hoop in cab.

long travel racing but aftermarket is not likely, so I hve a 6 arm design for jeeps short for geometry, med for travel & long to locate & double arm slide plate locate rear end.
That is part of a cage. It might keep your dog and some camping gear from destruction. Still needs solid body mounts from cab to frame the front of cab and engine cage. The lower whole cage to the frame. The seats mounted to the cage and the cab wielded to cage etc..
brianbirc we aren’t done yet and it’s better than what we had which was no cage at all. It’s an awesome start for what we have planned for future episodes so stay tuned we aren’t finished yet.
@@BustedKnuckleVideo Right on How about mapping the cage for CNC production ? Then we or you can have X number produced complete or sections of them for installation with the bends and notches prefabbed with instruction manual so it could done without the pile of lawn furniture material. It can be wielded by the consumer or tacked and pro wielded or installed for less by a shop. I am not saying include me in profits doing this. but the info to do it or a cage like that at cost would be helpful in my Bronco with a lot of work and $$$ into its suspension, drivetrain, engine, and body etc... done so far. A cage is the last big job and expense. I cant stop with how amazed and stoked at what it can do with comfort and control.

I like the wheels nice not racing 8 lug or my 5inner & 5 outer lug design but nice ie ok 1st try. If u can or need to can bolt 10 but can still fit on just 5 fine idea.

racing ground breaker, raptor beater, jeep eatter overlander baja camper weigh strong design. Excursion man worked out fix rear uses spring but not for geometry of travel.

Just curious as to the point to just having the roll cage in the back? Why not do the passenger compartment where a roll cage would actually accomplish something? Or am I missing something (other than how cool it looks)?
Will Morton stiffens the chassis, the body is effed if you roll anyways so this is an easy way to protect the occupants and not get into your head or feet room.

The idea is other ppl can cage up there rigs least welds needed. The new type seats down fold poss power 40/60or 50/50 split that can bed the custom made fit floor.
Again ppl can do same as God model w/there old trucks prt or lots of stuff way there. God model no budget trying to off shelf bolt on best poss no limit thinking & design, & no hidden tech. Ppl can play along any pricy or level they want. Race God quality prts can b knocked off.
you can buy the cage fully welded it is just pricey
I wish I had a vehicle that landed like that when I jump em. Last big jump I did was 72 feet from take off to first tire to hit the ground. And it was a Chevy Cavalier.
That was 10 years ago and my back is still severely messed up to this day. Lol

Leaning toward normal door & left devil ppl/crew door easier reentry. But my jeeper 2 stainless outer hinges & 1 inner hinge so ppl can't steal/take doors off idea needed on keeper model. On ppl jeep will b going for double door seal sill idea, so tube doors inside & outer normal doors safer door off or on. The ppl jeep B pillar will b wider see from out side & thicker side crash nacing strong. Working out the jeep/ppl double pumkin 2 drive shaft hydralic tube in middle solid axle wide stance or inner stance flex fully rear axle on road. U can hve 1 wheel 2 wheel or 3wheel or all 4 drive design.

Did you use a drop pitman arm with the cut and turned beams? I’m currently running a 6” drop bracket lift but installing cut and turned beams w/ 4” springs next weekend. I think I need to get a stock steering arm 🤷🏼♂️

Any info on shock tuning guys? I wouldn't have a clue.. so when you add shims you're slowing down the compression?
Nibiru3064 it depends on what the shocks are doing what you change. Jake is the guru of that stuff.

New tail gate also double fold bc short bed truck good off road as truck or camper rig or overlander sucks. no bs lowering window bc not 50yrs quality design. Mint numbers match low miles can keep shit tailgate but can swap out just the same. In camper mode single fold tail gated used length but double fold camper length will weigh too much I think. Hauling double fold length great design.

Have you guys ever done a coyote swap?
air better than oil, shocking or coil over best then shock or mayb struts but still unproven tech in trucks. Airbags grand best adjustable always best but in 2022 tech can adjust faster than ppl can on the fly. After market dialing in good enough but racing on the fly is clearly best.

Why douse everyone think raptors are something crazy? Its just overpriced oem mid travle and fancy electronics. A a tacoma with a kit front end and internal bypass coilovers would be probably be a bit faster. Love the ford ttb front.

Lots of my friends are. I learn from the best! The compression damping needs to be slightly stiffer and the rebound needs to be reduced. Try just a little at a time.
That cage should be welded to the frame, not bolted! That's disappointing. 😟

Number great mint 5.8 mild to wild range or go max crazy 4.6 V8 super charged racing build to spec any where on the spectrum after market new custom tech or so where in between. Just need best 96'ish starting bronco u can get. Idea is to work out & best idea cost & performance finished working tuner God edition of 50 or so best shops trys & then go 5k-10k mass run on worked out final design. This is how new cars will get build faster better & tested side, for small for profit 5k limit per yr run or not for profit mass produced, 7% cash return each yr max.
