drumisland Totally agree with you! Back in the day I would commute an hour and a half to skim at laguna 3 times a week. I wasn't the best, but I learned quick from the locals. The guys at Exile were super cool people, and the fact that their riders have done so much for the sport is another story. Mad respect for Domke and all his wonders!
I’m not a surfer.. but that was one of the sickest rides I’ve ever seen. And I really enjoyed how detailed his description was. Makes me appreciative and inspired by what these guys do

I’ve surfed Puerto many times & he’s correct, the spit can contain sand in it & it stings! However on days this big, I’m a spectator with some nice ceviche, tortillas & a few Superior beers😂
I've seen some crazy rides, but I think this takes one the cake. Finless tow-in barrel...how he was able to stay up without sliding and eating a big helping of Mexican sea soup is beyond me.

I know little about surfing, but what was exciting to me was his arms. I have never ever seen a big wave surfer have to move his arms so frantically to keep balance. Just watching it is so intense.

Large Puerto Escondido scares me almost like no other. Most large, tall waves take on a different form in steepness, but sometimes Puerto Escondido stays just as thick, steep and hollow as a smaller wave except it's massively larger and more dangerous.

First Hawaiian boards were finless. Sam Reid (the guy who discovered Malibu) said finless boards were faster. No drag.
