  • Clients of the First National Bank of Namibia (FNB) who receive cross-border electronic fund transfer (EFT) payments within the Common Monetary Area (CMA) will no longer be permitted to use domestic payment methods and channels.

    In terms of this new method's fee structure, you will pay a charge of N$35 to FNB even if you send only R100 to SA. Say for example you go to SA for medical treatment. You do blood tests. They claim against your medical aid but a payment of R15 gets rejected and the service provider sends you a bill of R15. Now you have to spend N$50 to settle the R15 amount.
