I love how real this video is! Kindergarten takes it out of me each day and it’s my class of the day. Thanks for always providing such great resources.
💯 definitely takes the most energy to reach and manage but also has the most hilarious moments as well
New to PE this year, today is the first day of school. This popped up at the perfect time. Re-writing my lesson plan for the first day of Kindergarten(they start next week). The thing I noticed most from the older grades during the first day is that they don't know how to move in open space very effectively. This is a perfect game to play with the Kinders so they learn at an early age what it means to move in open space. Thank you for all of the videos and resources, they have been a great start for me preparing for this new gig!
Nice! This one I always do with Kindy and sometimes 1st Grade as well during the first couple of weeks
Nice! To symbolize a bubble, the students can use a hula-hoop. If they crash into each other, they've then popped their bubble and are either out, or have to go to the perimeter and wait whatever time you decide to "pump" their bubble back up. I have smaller gyms at both of my schools so I'm always working on open space concepts to help prevent injuries.
Good idea!
Amazing ideas. Thanks for share
Great fun game! What do the kids say when you say 1,2,3? and what do they do?
OMG !!! This is hysterical. The life of a kindergarten teacher. I have K's the last period of the day !!!
Imma use this for PE tomorrow, looks like a ton of fun! Thanks!
You call it open space. I've called it open pathways. With your swimming activity where the gym fills up with water. I can't believe no one said I'm not allowed to swim without my floaties. I've taught for 34 years and have seen and heard so many funny things from the early elementary kids
Nice job with your lesson. Patience Prudence is the key to working with the little guys.
They crack me up, you can't help but laugh at some of their comments
I've used this idea 4 or 5 times now. Absolute winner.
Nice! Glad it worked for you
I’m (long term) subbing for PE right now and your videos have been a Godsend! 😅
Glad to hear that! Thanks for keeping those kiddos active!
I L❤VE this game. I can't wait to play this with my Kinder & 1st. Thank you so much for sharing!
Really really great lesson! I can imagine a rubric for assessment or students drawing a person in open space.
This idea will be PERFECT for todays Kindergarten PE time! Thanks for sharing❤
Awesome! Hope it goes well
Thank you for this! I did this with my class and it was great. I need as much help with kindergarten as I can get, so more kinder content is appreciated!
Glad to hear that!
I had a hard time with my kindergartens with this activities. They did great with the actual game. but they did not do well with the boundaries and self awareness. The kids kept following friends and me. I am sure that they just need time just checking into see if you have another video with space awareness that I can also do. Thanks for the videos! they are great!
It definitely takes some practice, the more you stop and praise the kids who are doing the right thing the better it gets in my experience. I also redirect kiddos who are following friends around during the music and movement time as needed
Takes a lot of time, practice, and patience on your part too. It takes kids a long time to grasp the concept. Once they get the idea you have to review it each time you do a movement activity
Hey Coach! It’s jc from a few years back. Just wanted to say keep up the good work and I respect the grind
JC! What's up man, appreciate that bud - I hope you are doing well 👊🏻
I love this game and I did something similar with every kid in a hula hoop (their bubble) as a visual and we do tbe same thing with music. I might add this into my repertoire. Ty very much Coach.
Adding a hoop is a good visual! @@marcstegman5079
This reminds me of social distancing, which is what everyone worldwide had to practice during the original COVID-19 times.
Yep! You would think we'd know how to do find open space after that right 😂
Lindo juego. Gracias por compartirlo. Lo pondré en práctica en sesiones de clases de español que quiero dar en Preply. Creo que va a ser útil como actividad de descanso de 5 minutos a media clase. Saludos desde Lima-Perú.
Glad you can use it! I've been to Lima before!
Hey! Can you make a video on how to get pe job if we are from another country
Hey there, it will depend on which state you want to work in, best to contact the state department in the area you want to work and ask them what their certification requirements are (for public schools) private and charter schools usually have very little requirements other than just be able to teach and be good at what you do
I am gonna try this game with our Chinese kids.
Awesome! Hope it goes well
I teach 2-3 years old kids. So I gave them each a hula hoop. Doing as vehicles and swimming ring. I taught them 123 Keng. Which was awesome.
You see what haha
