    Hey, what's up, guys! Nuno here! Today it’s a special video
. It’s a request that many of you asked, and it’s actually quite simple to do. How to add Megascans vegetation in Lumion!
    I’ll show you step by step two ways to make this, and I’ll show you how to avoid a common mistake people make when importing these vegetation assets into Lumion.
    This is done using Lumion rendering software for architectural visualization and Quixel Megascans. It’s a great 3D render software that saves a ton of time for architects because it helps you achieve the level of detail and realism not available in any other similar software.
    Lumion is fully compatible with most 3D modeling software, including Revit, SketchUp, ArchiCAD, 3ds Max, Rhino, AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and many others.

    wouldn't adding the expression "_safemode" to the end of your fbx files solve the 2 sided texture problem? for people without 3dsmax / like exporter, give this a shot! it worked for me :)
    @nuno: you added the gloss map to the normal map, but as I understand it, lumion is only able to use the alpha channel for either the opacity map or the gloss map?

    • @LuminousLabs
      @LuminousLabs Pƙed 3 lety +1

      Almost correct! The gloss map goes into the normal and opacity into the color. You can technically have 5 maps at once in lumion since the reflect/opacity/emiss doesn’t share a spot with the gloss mask

      Imagine that your file comes with inverted faces, you can rename "your-file.fbx" to "your-file_safemode.fbx" that Lumion fixes those inverted faces.
      About the Gloss and Opacity, you need to use the Gloss on the Normal map and the Opacity Mask on the Albedo (Color).

    See. This is my frustration with Lumion. It took you about 15 minutes to teach everyone how to export that asset. Feasibility you can do it in 5-10 minutes which is reasonable. But the fact that you have to pull the asset into 3DS Max to then pull it into Lumion is ridiculous. If you’re already spending 3500 USD on a piece of software, you shouldn’t need another $3000 piece of software to pull assets in.

    • @NunoSilva3d
      @NunoSilva3d  Pƙed 3 lety

      You don't need to do this process I shown. You can import the FBX file directly into Lumion and then apply the textures there. I'm just showing how to speed up the process.

      @@tedvitale8978 to make back face Visible you either need 3DSmax to convert it or save the file like "name_safemode" . Not to mention many time when people import directly , the model wont be at the middle of XYZ make placing or rotate them extreme annoying .Sometime if you import directly the model will also either too big or too small. So You definitely need a 3DS max to fully import the model or some addition software like speedtree ( this one has completely different way to import to lumion )
