The term troubadour was actually used even as far back as medieval times. They were composers and performers of poetry as far back as 1100.
Wow, I didn't know that. Thank you for educating me, it's much appreciated.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Facts poets indeed
Troubadour is a singer, poet especially of love songs.
and George is a master of it.
Traveling singer
Troubadour is autobiographical. The title fits George Strait perfectly!
George strait is arguably one of the best singer's out there. He was raised on a Texas ranch served in the army. He and his son hold a rodeo every year.
The line "Sometimes I feel like Jessie James, still trying to make a name" is my favorite in the song. Having met, and spent a small amount of time with him, I can attest to his humble nature. And this line accurately describes him. Even after 60 #1 hits, a successful 30+ year career, and being loved by millions of fans, George absolutely would sometimes feel that his efforts may have been inadequate, or that he could have done more. One of my favorite songs by him.
I ended up bumping into mr strait at a rodeo in san antone, and its a funny thing cause i didnt even realize who he was,i accidently knocked shoulders with him after i got in a big croud and was shoved by another fella,i said sorry and continued my way to the concesison stand😂😂
Nothing but love and respect for this man; from the music I first heard 40+ years ago on an old jukebox in a Wyoming truckstop diner to the person that he is, and has been, in his life.
It means, in this instance, a singer of love songs. Poetic singing about love.
Gitana, you can't go wrong with "King George" Strait. You should also try to delve deeper into people like Keith Whitley.
ole eastern kentucky boy
but she has done keith whitley in the past just gotta scroll down a little bit
@@ryanmullen7543 Keith is a legend!
If you want country music, Randy Travis the man who saved country. Deep baritone voice. Get on him before its too late. "1982" "Three wooded crosses" "walked on water" list could keep going and going
Thought you were gonna say Keith Urban and I was going lose my faith in humanity. Thanks for keeping hope alive.
You can never go wrong with George Strait. He's never put out a bad song. 👍 Also, keep rocking those bangs! They look great on you!
You're thinking bull riding and barrel racing at the rodeo. A Troubadour is essential a singer-songwriter.
George is country royalty. This song came out just before he retired. After 30 years, he put out an album called 50 number ones. I think he's probably had 20 or more number ones since
Can’t go wrong with King George Strait, should check out his song “ I Get Carried Away”, it would melt your heart
Chris LeDoux , This Cowboy's Hat... He's right up there with George strait...
Yessss ☝🔥
Not even close, but still good.
Good morning! George is the real deal Cowboy. Not some singer pretending to be a cowboy just to sell country albums.
Good to see you back doing reactions and what a great way to kick it off with King George
I really enjoyed this reaction. George Strait is the king of country. Thank you for such a wonderful reaction video! Thank you for just being you! I love you and your family and all the Gitanos! I keep you all in my prayers for good health and a long life and peace, joy and love.
We’ll, you go into the George Strait rabbit hole it’s going to be a loong journey. But well, well worth it. Can’t go wrong with him. Not a bad song. The King of Country Music they call him. More #1 hits than anyone in any genre of music. Enjoy!!
This is true. He did a 50 number 1 hits compilation album in the early 2000’s. He’s put out many more #1’s since.
60 # 1's
1988 my parents couldn't find a babysitter....George was playing at old roller rink in Denver, CO. So they took me, I was 6...we were seated second row from the stage. I knew every lyric to every song he sang. Behind us, there a group of young women, 20s, crazy about George (and I don't blame them one bit) They had flowers for him...but he kept smiling and waving at me....so the women gave me a flower to give to George. My father lifted me up to the stage to give it to him...he smiled put a guitar pic in my hand and said "don't let anyone take this from you darlin". This is one of my fondest memories as a child. I will love George forever!!!!
George is a demi god here in Texas. I've seen him in concert 8 times. He autographed my cowboy boot. 🤠
My favorite George Strait song.
Troubadour was an entertainer that use to travel ( not much different then now ) the country, usually to castles and wealth homes to sing , recite poetry. Anything to make a living.
Gitano here is a very old one. Tex Ritter Deck of Cards, it's a story song
Hello & good day Half Pint & GITANO'S!!! King George Strait what a why to kick off the weekend! Everyone stay safe out there & take care!!!💙💟💙
🤟❤️💙💙💙🙏
BRAD PAISLEY- THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC!
you will absolutely love it G!
I've always said George is God's gift to women!! That is one fine looking man!!! And I always say, "Make Mine Strait!" And this December, he and his wife, Norma, will celebrate 50 years of marriage!
@George Strait since 1981, when Eddie Rabbitt was scheduled to play the Houston Rodeo and got sick. They called George to see if he could fill in - he only had 4 hours to get there from San Marcos - needless to say, history was made that night!
Don’t feel so bad. You’d be surprised at how many reactors have no clue what a Troubadour is.
His daughter sitting next to George at the piano died At 13 yrs old in a car accident. I love his music !
Yes two videos in a day really really excited about watching this video please stay safe and strong love your Australia fan John xx less than two weeks until my birthday 🎂
Maybe react to Martina McBride. She is one of the top vocalist in country music.
That is King George more #1 hits than ANY GENRE over 50 #1 hits
If you look at the pics you’ll see George’s daughter who died in a car crash when she was like 13. This song is so reflective and gets me every time!
Try "You Look So Good In Love" by George. Such a great song.
Really glad you’re back and that you get the spiritual rewind you needed! I love George’s song, “Write This Down “ and so will you!! Also, check out the America’s biggest selling solo country artist, Garth Brooks. He did a world tour back in the ‘90s … stopped in Ireland and England. You will fall in love with “The Dance “ and then slosh your beer to “Friends in Low Places” Yes, you are an honorary “Country Girl”, Sweety !!! Sit back, put your cowgirl boots on and enjoy the ride!! 💜😊
I'm glad you're enjoying this. Don't feel bad about misunderstanding. I believe you were first thinking of matador (bull fighter) as I was. Cheers, Steve
This is the song my mom chose for my dads funeral and it couldn’t fit him any better and I love this song so much but I struggle to get through the entire song. I make myself listen to it at least once a year and since May 4th was the day he passed and I’m writing this on May 10th this is my once this year! Thank you for giving this one a listen!
💜 George Strait, can’t go wrong with anything from him. He’s is a very good looking man, one of my hall passes 😉
A troubadour is a medieval poet composing and singing songs. King George Strait one of the absolute BEST!
Troubadours were essentially lyric poets (song writers l) from southern France as well as northern Italy and Spain who lived in the 12th-13th century and were famous for writing love songs.
Goerge is the KING . He always will be and deserves the title . Just him and a guitar
Love this song. Reminds me of me and my friends of over 30 years...
King of country music! Always will be. 👑
Loved this video, and the way you handled not knowing what troubadour meant. It was funny( in an entertaining way). Some country artists you might want to look into would be Merle Haggard, Hank Williams Jr, Dolly Parton, and Loretta Lynn. These , like Johnny Cash , are country music legends. Love your videos . Looking forward to the next one!!!😎👍👍👍👍
New sub here as a country fan all my life I am glad to be here stayed for the rest love your reaction
You're excused, G. (City mouse) Good review. I love your laugh! Thank you very much.
I’m biased but God Bless Texas for George Strait. So lucky to be born and still live in this great state.
A fun Older country song that’s good for Halloween coming up is Bobby Bare’s song Marie Laveau. Love that song.
King George! Deep catalog. I’ve been very fortunate to see him in concert. Nothing flashy about him. Stands on the stage and tells stories. Perfect. Last time I saw him, there was a dance floor next to the stage and I two-stepped with so many cowboys and country boys. Great fun!
You really need to hear Chris Ledeoux he was a legend and still is in our hearts
George Straight is the KING of country. Need to do more of his.
"...often of a knightly rank."
.
"Knightly" my horse's hairy backside! That, ladies and gentlemen, is KING George!
.
He also sings a wonderful song about "The Chair".
George was an actual rodeo cowboy. And a troubadour. (Singer/songwriter)
He's talking about the life of a traveling singer, on the grind starting out playing honkytonks every night and basically being a badass breaking in the game.
And the point he's making is he's an OG now, he's aged but when he's in his bag on the stage, he still feels like he's 25 and stirring shit up. And in fact he's always going to be that guy at heart.
It's so nice to see someone discover country music from so far away. It's like watching a child open presents on Christmas morning. Just keep going, there's a lot more great songs out there.
Struggle Jennings just released a video called Troubadour of troubled Souls Glad to see your back
If I had to pick one song (the video makes it sooo much more special) it's Cody Johnson - Dear Rodeo (live performance from the Houston Rodeo)
This one is special to me.
Just like Struggle says “ Troubadour of a troubled soul” it’s a poet, which became modern day singers.
"Wahoooooo" Gitana for president lol. Love ya girl! And a trobadore is a singing cowboy. Thats what they used to call a singing cowboy
Got nailed in 1991. Was on recovery leave. George was playing, knew we were there. We had the chance to get up or rolled up on stage. Not one of us said yes.... Me and a couple of the boys just asked if we could have a beer with him and the Band... A night I will never forget.
It was alot of fun watching you trying to figure out what a troubadour is. I have loved classic country music since the 70's and it is wonderful watching people discover it.
Well, I came across this reaction while searching for reactions to Keith Whitley. So I guess I should recommend his songs "When You Say Nothing At All" or "Don't Close Your Eyes."
Alan Jackson was my first favorite artist. He has a ton of great songs, but I'd recommend "Small Town Southern Man" and "Little Man" since I haven't seen anyone else react to those songs.
George strait has had over 60 number one hits they call him the king of country music anything you pick that he's done it's well worth reacting to you just can't go wrong with George
He is the real deal a true cowboy. He and his brother were calf roping champions in the rodeos. Thus that big belt buckle he wear which is like a trophy for his champions status. He still works the cattle on his ranch.
George Strait...the epitome of country music. Seriously, if you're interested in country music, George Strait is where you start. George was so handsome and his voice was what made him the king of country.
a French medieval lyric poet composing and singing in Provençal in the 11th to 13th centuries, especially on the theme of courtly love. Also I'd like to state that George Strait probably has the most #1 songs in country music!!
George strait is one of my favorite country singer. Thank you for the reaction
Hey, don't feel stupid ! We continue to learn every day. Now even at 60, I now know the word because of this reaction video ! Love you
@George Straitofficial I'm a lifetime country music fan and experiencing more artists all the time. You are amazingly talented and blessed. Music refreshes and heals wounds of this life.
George Straight is the King of Country Music.
Try out some Texas Country Music!!
Cody Johnson, Kevin Fowler, Aaron Watson, Cody Jinks, Eli Young Band, Granger Smith, Randy Rogers Band, Angela Peterson Band, Reckless Kelly, and Whiskey Myers
That list would keep you entertained for the next year!! Lol
Love the content!! ❤️
Not sad , just telling it exactly how he feels. That's country music.
25 yrs. or so.
King George the King of country music. He has 60 #1s more than anyone in any genre the man’s a legend! Lots of his material to go through!
Group Alabama, George Jones, Statler brothers, oak ridge boys, Conway twitty, Don Williams, Charlie pride, on and on country classics.
Please do “God Must Be Busy” by Brooks and Dunn!!! There is no music video but the song is so good.💙💙💙
I'm an old country boy , so I hope you will take this in the spirit with which I mean it : You're a good girl 💖
He is the Troubadour. The video is the best part of the song. It's his life in pictures.

Love this song. Can't go wrong with the King of Country music.
Gitana, Thanks for reacts to George Strait - Troubadour on a nice October day.
A singer, especially of folk songs
Please do Amarillo by morning. It's about life in the rodeo and it's my favorite George Strait song. He actually rode bucking horses in the rodeo. I love you and Donovan. Keep em coming.

Gorgeous Georgeous Strait,, since 1980, more number 1's than you can shake stick at,,,lol, Tennessee saying... React to all George Strait songs... Ole middle Tennessee guy....
Holy crap. It's been about 40 years since I first walked into a honky-tonk in Texas and listened to him.
You need more from king George straight like the chair, are the fireman
@George StraitofficialI think when you first started doing it. I'm not sure when you started doing your reactions to videos but it been about a year. I love to see your reaction to some videos. More George he has a long list of number 1 hit song it in the 60. That's why we call him the king of country music
YES! FINALLY! Real country music! I thoroughly enjoyed it ma'am and I hope you only emerse yourself more into our southern heritage. As I've said in previous suggestions, check out a group called Lonestar, but also check into some female country singers. Sarah Evans, BORN TO FLY and Reba McEntire, I'M A SURVIVOR would be great starters and I know you would love everything about em, except maybe the absence of bass tones! Keep em comin and I hope you and yorn have a goodun.✝️🤠
You are so sweet. I turned on to just get a distraction to be honest, that was much needed. Anyway have you reviewed any patsy cline songs. Truly legend. U can look up her back story but I’d love to hear you react to “walking after midnight”.
You should check out more George Strait. He is considered the King of country with more number one songs then any other artist. Start with “Amarillo by Morning” George considers it his favorite one to sing.
The King of Country Music!
Yes ma'am, nothing like some Strait on a sunny Sunday here in Tennessee
"Baby Blue" is a song he wrote about his daughter who was killed in a car accident when she was just 13 yrs old I think. She is the one sitting at the piano with him in this video.
@George Straitofficial Since the 80's
Miranda Lambert--- "Vice"
Stunning...
George Strait, I highly highly recommend his song”Give it all we got tonight”. The official music video or when he sings it at AT&T stadium. Great sound. Close your eyes and think about your better half as you listen.
😆 I love the way she says “country” with the accent!
Troubadour is simply another name for a singer.
My dad is the spitting image of him and we rodeo so when we used to go to g.s. team ropings back in early 90s there was always people doing double takes and and few would come up to him (my dad) we always stayed behind the chutes in our trailer. . We meet g.s. one time during that he's sook cool and down to earth. Miss going to his team ropings.
Hello Gitana ⭐⭐⭐💎💎😉
Living for the night
Thank goodness you're back! King George Strait is absolutely a good looking man!! Please react to Miranda Lambert "Gunpowder and Lead"! You will love her! She's a badass! She won "Female Vocalist of the year 6 times! She use to be married to Blake Shelton! She is best friends with Carrie Underwood! Also react to her singing with Elle King (who is Rob Snyder the actors daughter) video WHICH IS FREAKING AWESOME & no doubt in my mind, you'll LOVE her voice as well! The song is "Drunk" and I don't want to go home!
I'm so happy you go to on a much needed Holiday by yourself! Sometimes, we women need that! Especially, after losing someone and other stress issues!"
I love this reaction! Could you do “ The Fireman “ by George Straight? I think you would love it.
The king of country music.
Randy Travis the man who saved country. Deep baritone voice. Get on him before its too late. "1982" "Three wooded crosses" "walked on water" list could keep going and going
