Lyricists: Mick Jagger and Keith Richards
Associated Performers: Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman, and Ian Stewart
Lyrics:
I live in an apartment on the ninety-ninth floor of my block
And I sit at home looking out the window, imagining the world has stopped
Then in flies a guy who’s all dressed up just like a Union Jack
And says I’ve won five pounds if I have his kind of detergent pack
I says
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Don’t hang around ‘cause two’s a crowd on my cloud, baby
The telephone is ringing, I say, “Hi, it’s me. Who is it there on the line?”
A voice says, “Hi, hello, how are you?” Well, I guess I’m doing fine
He says, “It’s three a.m., there’s too much noise. Don’t you people ever wanna go to bed?
Just ‘cause you feel so good, do you have to drive me out of my head?”
I says
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Don’t hang around ‘cause two’s a crowd on my cloud, baby
I was sick and tired, fed up with this, and decided to take a drive downtown
It was so very quiet and peaceful, there was nobody, not a soul around
I laid myself out, I was so tired and I started to dream
In the morning the parking tickets were just like flags stuck on my windscreen
I says
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Hey! You!
Get off of my cloud
Don’t hang around ‘cause two’s a crowd on my cloud

R.I.P. Charlie. This song and this fill is the reason why I started playing drums. Thank you!
Same here
I'm from Detroit (blow the revielle)!
*Oh, Man! Say it ain't so!*
Not just the loss of a great Rock 'n Rock 'pocket-groove' drummer with a jazz background.
*THE ROLLING STONES ARE NO MORE!* 😭
*Say it ain't so!*
RIP Charlie.

🥺
Real talk! That fill is everything.
I have the same story & the white 60's 3 piece Gretch Drumset like Charlie
RIP Charlie Watts, thought I'd post that here because this my favourite performance of his, I'm absolutely gutted.
The back beat of the Stones.

O homem morre, a ideia não. Charlie lives.
Amazing drum 🥁 fills
Well this band sounds promising. They should make an album.

Good one 😆
The Stones wrote this as a message to their record company, who were pressuring them to follow up their hit "satisfaction", they just wanted to enjoy that huge success for a while before heading into the studio.
Makes perfect sense, then came under my thumb, paint,it black, mercy mercy, and many many more.
Uh, the lyrics are dylanesque. Perhaps he helped. He was a Brian Jones fan. Serious fan.atic. And the dumb chant is all Mick Jagger
@@ursulaplatt5000 DO YOU MEAN MR ZIMMERMAN....
how original. Mr. Zimmerman. and Lewis jones
Always thought this was better than Satisfaction. Great hook and lyrically, much more colourful.
When you're 12 years old and learning to drum, you practice playing this. RIP Charlie Watts.
Is this not the best drum intro ever?

It’s simple and yet amazing.
Hell of a drummer and brilliant musician. Now, one for the ages.

The best track of "les pierres qui roulent" definitly❤❤❤❤❤😂🎉😮😅😊
rest in peace, Charlie Watts. You were great. We'll never forget about you and your music
Not to leave out Brian Jones the founder
This was a great band
Charlie has his own cloud now. You've gone from drums to heavenly legend.
I love how the drums drive the song and it's really catchy. Definitely one of the bands best songs.
Very underrated drummer was Charlie, my mother proper fancies him.
Arguably my favorite...love the drumming...
And the bass.
Rip charlie

A brilliant technical drummer. When I heard Charlie passed, I immediately played this track because of it's mesmerizing drums. Only way I could think of to say thanx.

the heartbeat of the stones.. rest in power dear charlie, thank you for all you’ve done, keep rocking in heaven!
I love how uplifting this song feels.
It's this song that showed me a rock song can be led by drums. Thanks Charlie.

complete timeless masterpiece.
I remember when this was an AM radio hit, yes I'm old.
Bob Stones liked Buffalo, NY played hear 6 times. 1969, 1972, 1975, 1978, 1981, 2015. Buffalo had a great music scene in 70s. 10 years of concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. They even got Lynyrd Skynrd to Buffalo. It was cool most bands opened saying ( HELLO BUFFALO ) 1 problem Security was bad. The Producers did get a lot of Big Bands, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Doobie Brothers, Journey, The Who, Allman Brothers, Greatfull Dead, Fleetwood Mac, Rush, Buffalo people liked there Music soldout most Concerts. Yes that Buffalo called ( SNOW CAPITAL OF USA ). True Lake Erie dumps 10-12 feet every winter. Us Buffaloians are baffeled why we get the most snow of all other Citys near 5 Great Lakes. ALWAYS WHITE CHRISTMAS IN BUFFALO.
Old and good taste !!

this song is a great example of what a such great drum player Charlie was. Rest In Peace Mr. Watts
No, it's not. Any beginning drummer can play this.
@@chipgaasche4933 as any begginer guitar player can do "smoke on the water" but the thing is to create it and fit it to the song
This song had such an impact on my 12 year old mind. It will never go away.
If this was released now today it would still be a banger and perhaps even bigger than it was back then obviously it was way ahead of it's time
As well as showcasing Charlie's brilliant drumming it also shows what a brilliant lyricist Jagger is.

Charlie plays a lot of cool ghost notes on the snare in this one. Everyone loves the recurring drum riff he plays in this one, but there’s a lot more than that going on. On the choruses he plays the same beat he used in Satisfaction... hitting the snare, hi hat, and kick drum all at the same time time on the beat. It really drives the song forwards. He uses that same technique in Let’s Spend The Night Together to good effect.
Charlie was a one off. Nobody else plays like him.
One of the most underrated badass Rolling Stones songs ever!.
is it hell underrated
This song was a huge success. I don't think it's underestimated.
I think he means on CZcams. Its not suggested as much as their others and its a new generation now

"Unbelievable"? More like outrageous. Their older than God!
For me this is Charlie's signature tune and he probably never aimed for it to be. A gentleman of true class and grace.

A lot of the Rolling Stones songs have a lot of catchy meaning to it. That's why I love their band.
Yes they do, indeed!
Stones will always be one of my favorite bands.
Let's face it this would still be a hit if released today
Friggin hell Charlie’s great on the sticks showing his skills on this song
The 60's and the rebellious wave of the British invasion in One Song..Great
long live Jagger and Richards the greatest rock and roll song writers of all time
RIP Charlie. You're the man. Your beats were pure magic.
Now this is music
Went to their concert in the 60's - sat 6 rows from the front - the whole concert was amazing, fabulous, fantastic. Mick electric but I couldn't take my eyes of Keith. All these years later, I am still buzzing - what an era.
This was the song Lando Calrissian was singing to the Empire at Cloud City...
LMAO LOL. 😂😂😂😃😃😃😄😄😄😍😍😍🤔🤔🤔
I love you man
😂
Love that they're still making these!
This duel between Mick's wild charisma and powerful Watts drums Is outstanding. Fantastic rock anthem
I'm in band at school and we started playing this for half time shows in football. Totally worth it, we all love playing it!
Lyrics done with the required level of creativity for a Stones song.
And done by Charlie himself is my guess
great drums gos to heaven and you are one of them charlie r i p mate
Awesome drum Intro Charlie, peace man. Miss you. The band isn't the same without you. The mystery is gone. You were so reserved and classy always, yet spoke volumes. One of a kind. Love ya brother. 🇬🇧
The 60s Stones were the best!!!
But your profile picture is exile on main st cover
Exile is my favourite album by The Stones and it is also one of their best but they had much more iconic songs from the 60s and they were much more experimental. Nothing against the Mick Taylor years though.
Yeah, the classic lineup of Jagger, Richards, Jones, Wyman and Watts was the greatest
sometimes...
Of course!!!
Grew up loving this tune starting in the 6ts. Never realized what some of the lyrics said.
My mother owned an electronic organ in the 70's with a march beat the same as the beat in this song. It took me years to figure out where it came from as a march beat, but it stuck in my head since I was a kid. Exact same beat.. 😅
Love the drums on this one!
Charlie, thank you 💕
RIP Charlie Watts, thank you... Your music lives on!
Una clase magistral de batería. No se puede mejor que esto, imposible...
I am 70 years and I still listen to the Stones.I first heard them do this song when I lived in Gloucestershire, England.I now live in Florida for the past 32 years.
*"Here's a little song by a little known band, The Rolling Stones."*
One of my favorite top five stones song. I can play it for hours. Original track cannot be replicated by anyone
“It’s been one of those days! Come on Luigi!”
Hey you get off my cloud, you don't know me and you don't know my style. Method man took inspiration from this song is crazy to learn
A timeless classic...enough said.
Nearly 54 years on and still going strong, with its overall appeal only slightly diminished, this song sounds as fresh, original, exciting and as relevant as it ever did, this amazing testament to the unmatched musical experimentation, instrumental brilliance, seamless band chemistry, inspirational fearlessness and utter ingenuity of The Stones, who were at the very cutting edge of the cutting edge of that whole mid 1960's musical revolution, beautifully pioneering and transcendent as it all was, featuring this VIRTUALLY UNPRECEDENTED QUANTUM LEAP in the general sound, style, musical texture, complexity and instrumental coordination of all new, emerging songs as that seminal and pivotal era did (the middle to late 1960's).
Timeless perfection indeed, while that smoothly and soothingly rhythmic centrifugal motion that this catchy and sweetly uplifting tune generates, ceaselessly upon every listening, remains undiminished, incredibly enough, as I can feel it all pulsing and gyrating within me, and with this mesmerizing effect👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧!
Yeah, but could ya dance to it ? 😜
Does that matter? 2:57
awesome.
This song really cemented the fame of the early Stones. They needed one like this after ‘Satisfaction’. Listen closely to Mick, laying down early on the scream/sing/howl to which there is no parallel, yet even to this day! ‘In the MORNIN’ the PARKIN’ tickets were just like flags’…genius.
Still one of their very best songs.
This joint here inspired Method Man !!!! Brilliant 🎉
Brian Stones !! ✅✅✅
Nobody started a song like Charlie Watts. RIP
Just a tremendously creative video set to one of the best songs by the original punk band!
The drumming could not be more superb.
Definitely my favorite Rolling Stones song it’s got a great tune and great drumming
A masterpiece!
I totally prefer 60s Stones to 70s Stones.

Same here. The 70's Stones got way too Disco on us.
Stones are all good
1968-1972 was their zenith. Banquet, Bleed, Fingers, Exile. All downhill from there.
Agreed
These videos with animated lyrics are brilliant.
ikr i watched this in music and now I'm hooked its freaking awesome
Probably Charlie's own hand involved is my guess ✋
This was the first single I owned. My first album was "Sunny Afternoon" by the Kinks.
Great music back in the day.
One of my favourite songs by the rolling stones
That was the first song that came to mind when I heard of Charlie's death :((( , those drums!!!

Scrolling through the comments, only fitting the first 6 pay homage to Charlie Watts' contribution on this song. Goes to show you, this is one of the most well thought of performances of any drummer, in any band, in any song. Thank you, Charlie Watts......
