  • This movie is about my trip to Lofoten in late August 2016. We had AMAZING halibut fishing and also some awesome topwater fishing after big coalfish.

    Being a jersey guy, I grew up fishing for fluke(flounder to others) on party boats, beaches, docks and rivers. My parents also had two boats(only one boat at a time. Sold first one and got another several years later) so I spent a ton of time fishing. Catching a 5 pound fluke was a huge deal there. Hell, the record was around 12 pounds...seeing these monster halibut really blows me away. They are basically the new jersey fluke, but a thousand times heavier...my god

    An old measurement here in Shetland was every inch around the tail was about a stone in weight, ie 10 inches around the tail was a 10 stone fish! Great video guys.

      @@robbiebanks9182 hey, theres still halibut around yes, not many fall to anglers though. Hear of the odd few every year got by charter boats and some small commercial jigging boats. The bigger whitefish boats get a few most weeks. My dream to get one on rod. Need to travel a good bit for that haha

    Great to see a fishing company putting the halibut back with the anglers enjoying the sport without having to kill everything. So many videos on here you see idiots taking everything that gets hooked up just because they can when there is no nee for it part from greed. We've all good a great future in fishing if everyone was a responsible as these guys.

      @Bard Erland We do eat a lot of the fish we catch. But we release the bigger ones (+130 cm) to ensure their good genes carry on.

    Which runlock rope you choose for landing with the sharkhook?

  • @conspiraciesarejustgreatst2059

    @ 5:25 + that guys pole was bent like an L bracket! I know his rod was pretty small for that type of fishing...but still... friggen nuts and makes catching that beast that much harder

      @malthewislerjohansen669  Před 6 lety

      conspiracies are just great stories the rods are small Because they are made for vertical boat fishing. But they are really strong and stiff. Takes a good fish to bend it like that 😁
