Brilliant ad! Casting is perfect. The bahu is modern but trying to win over her in laws-not only trying the pressure cooker modaks, but also representing one. Hubby supporting, mother in law -typical making satirical comments but being there for the family after all. And a very supporting and comforting father in law accommodating the new member of the family despite knowing the imperfections. The gentle humor with a mix of language by Jayant Gadekar playing father in law keeps us watching and waiting for more without getting bored.

That totaly depends upon the behaviour of family members..in arrange marriage in laws are more interfering and ready to school/judge...untill relationships soars...in love marriage they r always very conscious as they do feel boy/ girl is already having understanding between them.....
As a Pakistani, I may not know the culture. but one thing is for sure, it made me cry. As someone who is very scared of marriage, maybe there is still hope.

The mother in law felt sympathy when she realized DIL is a orphan . I don’t know why passing a cooking test is mandatory for women to get married. Most women learn to cook well within 2-3 yrs of marriage. Most men on the other hand…..

this...the characters are so relatable... my boyfriend was also marathi and I am from madhya pradesh, was born in indore just like ishani in this short film... The stress to impress parents is soo real.... but he broke up with me recently and this appeared on my home page of yt even thought I don't watch short films ...ik its a coincidence but.. the whole story is so beautiful & touching .. and yes, it did reminded me of him and all the times we spent together..

"Tila nahi kalat kahi goshti" was delivered very smoothly like its okay to be incapabe of doing/understanding a couple of things.
I am bengali.. And stayed in pune for 6 yrs before shifting to delhi last year.. This year i was craving for Udkiche modak so much... Wonderful story.. And not to mention acting.. I understand marathi well so i loved it.. But plz considering adding subtexts.. Because this beutiful story deserve much bigger audience.. Ganpati bappa Moriya!!! ❤❤

I cried! My granny was also a supporting M-I-L to my aunt, my aunt also grew up without her mom so she didn’t know cooking and she was gujrati and my uncle kannadiga
But now she cooks my granny s recipes with love.
My granny also cooks recipes learnt from her own MiL long ago with lots of love and she mentions that it was taught to me by her.
My mom also learnt many snacks from my paternal granny ie her MiL

Atisha Naik ji is an amazing actor and the star in this short film. She has performed this role with such delicate balance. She is being hard to please, and yet she does not invoke dislike from the audience. This is how most mothers are. They are tough, but don't have ill will. Jayant Gadekars timing and dialogue delivery are too good! I come from Nagpur and lived in a rural area near Pune and met many people who speak like this.

New Generation new Topics. Keeping the old typical MIL and DIL seriel topics aside, this is good initiative to start something new. I love the Father's character 😂his hindi marathi language was very funny. MIL did a good job and calmed the DIL. Husband is also supporting. Malhaar Rathod also acted very well🎉
