    Nice touch with the Trammel on the Router and using the tablesaw to cut the straight slots. I've seen a lot of guys try and free hand them and the cars look like they are following a snake when they're running.

    Not at all, I will be glad to help. I don't have all the answers but I am sure we can figure out whatever comes up.

    I wanted to know the distance between slots and slots on a 1/24 slot machine track. Thank you

      4 3/4”from outside to the center of the two outside lanes and 9 1/2” to the center of the two inside lanes. All of this is on a piece and f medium density fiber board 23 7/8” wide

      @stefanobism Před 2 lety

      So there are 4 3/4" between lane and lane?

    what's the name of the machine you use for making the slots in turns? thank you in advance

      I used a router. keep in mind I routed all the slots while the material was flat on the table. I used an 1/8" bit to make the slot and then came back with a 11/16" router bit for making dado's to make the indention for the wire brad. I had to modify the 11/16'' bit by drilling a 1/8'' hole in the end and epoxying a piece of 1/8"'steel rod in the end of it to ride in the groove while cutting the places for the wire brad. I chucked it up in my metal lathe with the bit in the tail chuck.

    The table is a big mistake. You want and need adjustable legs. Look at a Gerding or an Ogilvie track to see how it should be done.

      Well Dan, thank you so much for your criticism. Where were you to tell me I was doing it all wrong when I was building it. You know Dan everybody likes it and it works just fine but the next time I build something I will be sure to consult with you first.
