Before release I swear AEW Games said "anyone who purchases the Elite edition will get all DLC for free" I wouldn't have got the Elite edition if it meant I only get 1 DLC pack lol
Yeah, I bought the game day one and paid full price, and tbh I haven't really touched the game. I play mainly WWE 2K24 because it's an incredible game. I wish the ultimate edition for AEW would be discounted for people who bought the game already. But I don't think I'll buy season 2 through 4, I will just enjoy 2K24, and maybe someday after AEW gets discounted, I might pick up the content for it. Awesome video, Matt, and I love the new setup. Keep up the amazing work.

The fact that I got the Elite edition and only get the season one pass is a slap in the face. Not only that, but the 2K24 Season Pass has 25 or so superstars for $40 and the four season passes for AEW have 15 wrestlers for $90. Not a good value.

@@SuperSaiyanBroku I know that but until now, that wasnât an option meaning the passes had to be purchased separately. So now that Iâve already spent 70 or so for the Elite edition at launch, any combination of the passes pushes me past that $100 mark. Regardless, $100 for what they offer isnât worth it. $100 for 68 wrestlers vs 250 in the base game of 2K24. Not even counting the discrepancy of game modes.

I'm just hopeful that when they do a second game, they'll learn from the mistakes of the original and put more focus into modes like CAW. The core gameplay is there and actually really fun. It just needs more. There needs to be more to do.
Agreed, but people will tap out as soon as their overpriced dlc will get announced! I'm sorry but no matter the season, the asking price was laughable! I think ppl would rather buy "horse armor" for Obivion in 2024 than get trolled by their dlc. These offers were insulting tbh
I used to think the core gameplay was "fun" too. Short matches, with RNG reversals are an absurd design choice, though. Once you see the cracks, it's all you can see.
I think the gameplay is just fine. As someone that plays the AKI games on emulation FF has some improvements but a lot of it also is worse than those games. The signature move is nice, the ability to reverse despite lower spirit is nice. But it doesnât feel as tight, thereâs a clunkiness to the movement for grappling.
Way more, like a lot more! But yes gameplay is fun if you like arcade Gameplay, still thought the elite edition would include all DLC but whatever.
I was super excited about this game initially, they I paid $60 on day one for a glorified demo and then they asked me to keep pumping money into it and I said...no (But I wasn't as polite about it lol) I have not touched the game in months and likely will never play it again too little too late, very disappointing.

Pissed that I bought the elite edition. The game was fun for about a week and they didnât even give me all the content. I spent 100 fucking dollars on the game thinking it would have all the dlc. Bullshitttttt

Were all letting aew get away with selling us an inferior product at aaa prices with a promise of long term updates. They didn't even last a year, they lied to us and we need to take action.

This game was released half-assed out the gate and the way they price/marketed the DLC was an absolute joke. I played this for about a week and never played again then I just uninstall from my PS5 2 months later to conserve space on my hard drive.
This game had no type of cage match, no updated arenas, half of the roster is either in WWE or not even active on the AEW roster. The N64 gameplay on the next AEW game has to be tweeked or revamped completely imo. The next game I won't buy until a significantly price drop happens.
They should've added a game mode like universe or GM mode, to maintain longevity of the game as a whole so players can enjoy creating their own rivalries and matches for better engagement. Other than that this is a solid game that has really great game play.
Season 4 is the most appealing for me in terms of the wrestlers it's adding. I've wanted Joe and Jay White for a long time. It feels like too little too late though. Certainly doesn't feel like they will live up to the Fight FOREVER name by ending it in less than a year.
Like you said, some of those little additions like tweaking match rules would have gone a long way.

They are pretty crazy for that $100 ultimate edition whenever the next pass drops theyâll make another edition for more money

The game will be out for one year at the end of June. The current price of the game is insane. They really are trying their best to squeeze as much money out of people as possible. The game with everything available shouldn't be more than $30 at this point. Anyone that wanted to play the game already purchased it. To get more people to purchase for $100 to get all DLC content is a failed attempt.

@@AssembleShow as a certified editor that does a lot of corporate calls/ influencer videos I can tell you this is a clean setup in comparison to the wraparound that was more unbalanced and a little distracting. Iâm appreciative of a 2nd camera setup for that variety and youâre not cheesing it with a punched in cut from the same cam. If anything, I would suggest something with the lighting, you have the tools and layout, there just isnât enough to make you stand out from the background, which can be achieved with lighting. I think once you have your custom sign and you accent the lighting it will make a difference, but you need to probably kill a lot of your key light thatâs flooding onto the wall, or defuse it a few levels with some velum where the gloss from the paint isnât glaring from your monitor setup youâre recording on. The beige in general isnât complimentary to the lumens from your lighting setup, which is why I suggest lowering the focus on what is splashed behind you and lead more with your lighting from the corners, then youâll stand out in the foreground more and have a sense of immersion. On a side note, I really think some grab spot lights or orbiter projector installed on you ceiling would kick it off, like a mini wrestler entrance setup, you could frame a metal wrestlerâs entrance thing around your collection behind you with the curtains open, or no curtains and just put some rgbs on the sides and put your custom sign on the top frame. Iâve been a fan of your approach and attention to detail for years, so if thereâs anything I can do to help you, Iâm game. Looking forward to tomorrows video when ECW drops đ

I'm glad I held off buying the game, because Yuke's have not only been inconsistent with the pricing, but also the versions! I'll do my best to list everything but, good luck following along, it's very confusing on why they did this.
Some pricing was found via Wayback Machine for the AEW FF Steam page, (Feb. 15, 2024, specifically). As of today, they have also dropped the permanent pricing by $20 each. It's now $40 base, $60 Elite.

$80 USD, Elite edition. Base Game, with pre-order bonus Matt Hardy, plus Season 1 wrestlers (FTR, Keith Lee, The Bunny, HOOK, Danhausen)
$90 USD Bring The Boom edition. All above + Season 2
$100 USD Light The Fuse edition. All above + Season 3
$100 USD Ultimate edition. All above + Season 4
This would be fine if they didn't keep redoing what's effectively now the Ultimate edition after every Season Pass update and giving it a different name, and they're STILL selling the Elite edition??? Are we supposed to expect a Premium edition if they do a Season 5 or something? They should've just had at least two Season Pass purchases in total at release, or at some point aside from now. One purchase gets you Season 1 and Season 2, another purchase gets you Season 3 and Season 4. This purchase model is wildly out of touch, it's so disappointing.
If someone were to buy the base game at launch, then the Season Passes, it would be $152 USD (take off $20 for current pricing of the base game), this is also the same if every wrestler pack were bought individually.
There won't be a season 5.

I will pass on Season 4 as that is not enough to get me to purchase the Season 4 pass regardless of the price, considering I stopped playing this game since 2 weeks after it was released. My main issue with this game is that the limited creation suite as that is the reason I am regretting even buying this game. The fact that we are only limited to smacking on a T-shirt to the in game wrestlers as alt attires makes me not want to play the game anymore. The only way to get me back to being interested in playing the game is to fix the creation suite and allow players to have full accessibilty to edit the in game wrestlers like in 2K. Until they do that, I don't see myself jumping back to playing this game!
For someone who hasnât bought it yet, Iâd buy the ultimate edition but for the original releaseâs price. I will say I really like theyâre adding Wrestling game creators like Chris Danger into the game. Iâd pay for that pack over the McAfee and friends pack

They should have done something similar to 2k and did ONE season pass for like $29.99 and all future dlc will be granted access to. I have paid for Season 1-3, and I havent really found them worth it. Season only had the Acclaimed and Tony Storm which was disappointing and seems to be the way they are gonna keep going based off Season 4.
The Ultimate Edition is great for people who didnt buy the game, but its almost like an F U to everyone who bought the game, especially since I preordered the Elite Edition before it came out and it was like $89.99 PLUS 60 dollars for all the season passes besides 4. I can't see myself spending more on this game, especially when they are blatantly bleeding their fan base only putting 3 wrestlers at a time and charging each time rather than doing a big season pass with packs that come out every so often. My hope is they move on to a new game with more match types, more customization options (especially ability to change colors on pre existing wrestler attires and ability to put new attires besides t shirts) a deeper season mode, and focus more on core gameplay (adding a pin eacape and reversal prompts being two big things that come to mind) and having an up to date roster rather than the non wrestling stuff like extra skins and fake characters.
This is pretty cool pack with Samoa Joe, Adam Copeland and Switchblade Jay White. Awesome that we got a tournament đ„đ„

@@PhantomPain7778 Some matches still last that long but virtually if I try to do everything I can in a match the com will usually reverse a move or two. If they kick out of your finisher and get momentum, the matches last a lot longer.
You should do a video on if they make an AEW FF 2 game, what you/we would like to see?
Id want new Match Types, Updated AEW Arenas, Editor to create alternate attires (why cant i give Samoa Joe yellow shorts!?), new Championships, and a Universe Mode.. Then id actually play it!!

see the problem i honestly had was yeah the roster is good and all but when you buy up everything your still sitting there going what do i do with them and then this whole we are gonna put select superstars in the game over others who are homegrown mind you is another critique i had like i dont mind seeing edge samoa joe toni storm but where is willow where is julia hart people who been in the company alot longer it just felt like well they dont have the star power of edge of switch blade jay white or samoa joe so your not allowed in the game

Basically at this point they are adding wrestlers to make a few more bucks, but the actual investment is for a possible future game. These are all wrestlers, that would absolutely still be around when a second game comes out.

I really feel like some of these modee such as âbeat the eliteâ and âtournament modeâ shouldâve been there already. Weâre also still missing arena updates (such as collision like you mentioned here)
The fact that these DLC characters came out with outdated gimmicks too kindof sucks.

The business decision on this game were all over the place 20 for season 4 an I have all the passes so far I will probably break an get 4 because of Joe an Edge an White. I bought the elite version of this game back when it came out, but just canât bring myself to spend more on the DLC. The newest pack looks good, but I donât feel like spending $20 on it when I know I wonât play it much. The game just lacks replay value. They desperately need some kind of universe mode or GM mode in addition to more match types. I hope they eventually make a 2nd game and give the fans what they want. In the meantime, Iâll just download AEW CAWs and arenas from 2K.
Just get 2k24 and community creations will have all this aew stuff in it that you can download. Just have aew in universe mode and it would be better

@@davidinassvideo games and movies have budgets to meet. And Fight Forever very clearly isnât making the money back that they thought they would. If Iâm Tony Khan, Iâm saving whatever money i have left from fight forever on the next AEW game, and thatâs only assuming he even wants another game.
I doubt many people will paying all that money for DLC or the Ultimate Edition when even that is destined to drop in price in the coming months.

I've been fully playing 2K24, and even though the wrestling mechanics are super fun in FF, it's just not enough to get me back. I've really been enjoying MyFaction even though the card-market prices are wild atm.
The Beat the Elite/Mini games in FF I didn't care for. Stadium Stampede sounded cool, but was also just too late.
Hoping they have the bones for a great game for the next one, they won't plug so much money in it and won't have to try to get those prices back with those ridiculous season pass prices.
I'm not salty that I bought day 1, that's always what happens with sports games. You can get it day one, or wait until everything is super discounted. I just think the pack prices on their own aren't worth the value I'd be willing to pay.

Haven't bought it yet. Ps5 has had digital sales, but never lower than 40 or 35, now i will just wait for the ultimate edition to go on sale. Yeah for me it lacks a ton of creativity in the creation suite. It's hard to make different characters with very limited options for creating. Same with the creating an arena. There also should've been like a GM Mode or something like Universe or Create a Story mode so that Road to Elite isn't the only endgame of the game. I can fight all day, but if that's all I'm doing, I'm going to be bored real quick...

They shouldâve done that months ago. I played through the story mode twice, a few hours each, and havenât touched the game since. Most of the DLCâs throughout the entirety of the game shouldâve been on the standard edition right from the start.

Tournament mode is good I guess, but I was fine with just writing names on a piece of paper. It feels like getting a birthday card with no money in it.

Edge being in this dlc makes sense but still, around $7-$10 a piece for an arcade game wrestler without much depth is way too much. Cause letâs be honest nobody is buying the dlc packs for the extra, small stuff

I wanted to purchase the game but from all the news, something told me it was going to be a mess so I decided not to. I'm hoping that they do a sequel to this game and get it done right.
Personally, I dig it. I've gone back and forth with this game a lot. Sadly, playing 2k makes me appreciate it more because of how fun it is. 2k is a good game with many flaws. Fight Forever never tried to be 2K, but fan expectations sorta ruined the experience. Even though you can play this as a straight-up wrestling game. At the end of the day, it was always marketed as an arcade game that would be updated like fortnite. I remember people thinking they would only update it for 3-5 years. No, this was literally and hopefully still supposed to be updated forever. They never had plans on stopping the updates. I just hope there's enough support to keep it going. Because something will need to tie me over until UPW releases.
Every dlc other than edge shouldâve already been the game. Since when do wrestling games sell active main roster wrestlers as dlc 1 at a time ? Let alone caw parts and old modes like towers/tournaments ? A very bad precedent is being set here.

Tag matches are pretty much unplayable. Really could've done with adding tornado tag as an alternative.

Nowhere in that article does it say that Yukes or AEW Games is "done with the game support". What it DOES say, is that it any future DLC plans are always "anyone's guess", because Yukes never communicates much of anything in regards to pending updates. But that part has already been par for the course since Season 1.
Again, it does not mention anything about officially being done with support. Let's try to stick to the facts, folks.
bought the elite edition when it came out. had some hope for the game but I haven't played it since that first week. they built and sold this game on nostalgia for using old game engines which I found to not be fun in 2023 when it came out.
