It will never not be crazy to me that the same woman who is giving us this sweet fairy tale and this sugar sexy MV is the same one who gave us bloody Animal Farm, Kazino and BIBI Vengeance. Bibi and Idle really do walk hand in hand when it comes to delivering concepts.
I haven't seen those but even from what I have seen she delivers some very very different concepts for sure!

Thanks for doing some Bibi reactions. She has become one of my favorites. If you do touch on some of her other MV’s, please keep in mind from what I am aware of she was in a very abusive relationship so I view them as kind of “therapy” ! Seriously, they kind of make more sense looking at them through a different lens. Enjoy.
Oh I hate that she went though something like that - I do believe that some of the best art (including songs/music videos) is made by people who are working through pain. I am definitely going to continue covering her, she is really impressive and has shown me a lot of range just in a few videos!

And yes, Bibi has deeper messages. Particularly in her Lowlife Princess album era and some “prequels”. These reflect a traumatic time in her life and are *very* dark yet catchy and sound great.
I’d do these Lowlife Princess “prequels”:

2. Vengeance (ties into Kazino)
3. Life is a B-
Then the Lowlife Princess stuff:

5. Jotto
6. Animal Farm
7. Blade
She did a lot of MVs for this album. And I can genuinely say “Lowlife Princess: Noir” is one of the best albums I’ve ever heard (not k-album/kpop… Album. Period.) It’s very autobiographical and was conceived as a whole work not just individual tracks - which is less common today.
As a bonus, these are some of her most popular works, so may hit the algorithm better. (Particularly Vengeance, Animal Farm and Kazino)
Oh I wasn't questioning if she has any messages - I just meant for sugar rush I didn't think there was a deeper meaning! I look forward to seeing those others though!
@@ChainReactionsChannel No worries, I wasn’t taking it that way at all :) You’re right Sugar Rush doesn’t have as much message, and since you were interested pointed to some of her more popular (and I think artistically best) songs and ones with more messaging - albeit dark.
Although in thinking about it, I do think there’s a message arc when you take BMY and SR together as it depicts a sad ending of a love affair -> getting over it and healing/moving on -> Being over it and deciding to be a ‘good girl being bad’ and going to go break hearts.

Bibi is such a musician. Like just taking ideas in her head throwing them into manifestation and if they don't work for her she sells them off to other idols or groups cause they fit more. And then if they don't fit anyone she's just like... "Eff it I can own this!" She's just great.

... what did I just watch? 😅Like a Korean Ratatouille for a witch BIBI? That was like nothing I expected, where did this sweet song come from? Whereas Sugar Rush was a whole lot more like what I was expecting throughout this whole video but then again, I never realized you were reacting to more than one song until I got to that part. And those lyrics... yeah, I laughed as much as you did, so many good lines in there. And was it just me or that was the longest MV ever? 😂As for the Studio Choom version... what am I even allowed to say, I only knew her from the collab with Soyeon but wow, I'm a fan now!
haha I don't know what happened, it's all a blur. All I know is that she is special, those two songs and videos could not be more different lol. I am also a new fan and I will be featuring more soon so we can go on the journey together!

I highly recommend her episode on Lee Mujin Service, where she sings Diamonds are a girl's best friend. You can see her personality there. She's a very fun and likable person, and kind of tows the line as far as korean celebrities go with being appropriate. Her mouth has gotten her into trouble, but it's another reason people love her too.

You worked your art nicely as well - I think you threaded the needle of reacting without overreacting nicely. (Hopefully this doesn’t lose you any more subscribers, but honestly I think it was worth it even if you did.) You did go in reasonably well informed but it was delightful when she caught you off guard a couple of times and, um, exceeded your expectations. One or both of the videos got banned by one channel in Korea but I can’t quite place my finger on why.
I have had that hook playing constantly in my head and the descending vocal line! How does she know where to start so that she ends in the right place?
And yes that first track shows off her talent so differently - she could be a lead vocal or sweet soloist or rom-com actress anywhere in the Korean system and be successful! But it’s obvious what she enjoys doing and when she is having fun.
Soyeon obviously doesn’t know how to take a day off, though she may have been enticed by free food (& I think I saw a cocktail?)

That certainly seemed like a departure for Studio Choom too. There have to be some staff wondering “are we really doing this?”, while others are thinking “I love art”

Haha I tried to do my kind of reaction where I try to analyze the song/talent but I honestly don't remember if I even did that lol. Sometimes I get overwhelmed. Visuals and fire/funny/shocking lyrics aside she is super talented with the acting, the singing, the rapping, just a performer and an artist for sure. Banning this should be a crime.
I was so excited to see the features that weren't really features just cameos but if anyone deserves a break to sit, eat and drink it's Big Yeon for sure!
