Puri beach has some instrintic emotional attachment which I cannot explain. We have been there for 5 days and enjoyed every bit of it including package tour. I think, tourism part of Orissa is not publicised to the extent it deserves. Its enchanting. I am from Mumbai originally from Mangalore.
I have visited there many times and each time I feel the same excitement! I am unable to solve the mystery till now! So I have again planned to go there......

Very Nice and informative video...The best thing is that using your video travellers like me can plan/get an idea about which hotel to choose..V V nice. Can I directly go to puri and take a auto/rickshaw and try finding hotels in off-season(July after Rathyatra) ? Do they give spot discounts? any idea.... will the Rickshaw/ auto driver wait for me until I find a suitable hotel?? Lots of questiions, thanks in advance
July (specially after Rathayatra) is off season. But Puri is very popular destination so all through the year there is some rush in tourists. If you walk in to a hotel you can definitely bargain with price. Note, if you walk in with a Rickshaw-wala or Auto-wala then the hotel authority MUST give him some commission (and that is not in front of you). So if you can walk in alone the Hotel can pass on this commission to you as a spot discount. Also, you can understand the auto-wala or rickshaw-wala will happily wait for you until you choose a hotel. Happy journey!
Raon Gh Visit Lord Jagannatha Temple. One day local sight seeing preferably with OTDC. If not hire a car. This will cover Konark, Lingaraj Temple, Shanti Saudho, Udaygiri and Khandagiri, and Nandankan. Next day plan a tour for Chilka Lake. Hire a boat there for dolphin spotting and other activities at Chilka. You can go with OTDC or in a hired taxi.
Puri is in Odisha... But most of the signboards are there in Bengali language... Why? Is bangla talked there a lot? From Bangladesh 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩 i have aplan to visit there next year
