  • Our final adventure on Minnesota's North Shore was jam packed with as many sights as we could squeeze into one day, including a hike to Bean and Bear Lakes, exploring multiple areas of Tettegouche State Park, visiting a black beach, eating pie, and seeing a lighthouse. It was a windy, wavy, and epic end to our time on the North Shore!

You can also pay $35 for unlimited visits to all parks for 12 months from purchase. Might be worth it if you go back for an extended visit!
I also like how you've taken the time and interest to learn about the history and even the geology of the area.

Totally blown away(no pun intended) by those magnificent ocean-like views with those sheer cliffs & the pounding waves! 🌊 I need a print of that deer you photographed in the woods enveloped by the beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees & bushes!😱 The lighthouse, the lakes, the falls! So much splendor! Thanks so much for allowing us to tag along! 🥰 Stay safe. Hugs for Kona.❤️

I'm glad you guys got to see a little bit of the yellows in the trees, but like you alluded to, it's just jaw-dropping in the fall, and I hope you can go back then. Thank you for these great videos. We relate to y’all in so many ways that we just laugh and look at each other and say well of course they would like that too! A few examples, our first vacation was to Austin- hiking, walked around Lady Bird in the morning with our dog and coffees, and of course BBQ! We had a make your own taco/nacho bar as the entree for our wedding with a s’mores table (our favorite is wit a peanut butter cup). Every year we drive to another national park and hike, kayak, and chase waterfalls. I could go on and on- lol! Keep up the fun vlogs! I don’t know if it is on your radar but Shawnee National Forest is unexpected and unlike the other types of hikes you have been on so far- I think you both would love it!

If you haven't been back yet to do Isle Royale, I suggest you do it. It is a breathtaking experience. Me and my church youth group did 3 nights there. Saw my first Moose there. It was 20 feet next to the walking path at home base. The most incredible nature experience ever happened on that Isle. Please go. But forewarned that there is a good chance of running into a bear. So always use the bear boxes on the isle.

Isle Royale is definitely high on our list to do when we’re back in the area! It’s just logistically tough and expensive to get to right now with our dog. Thanks for the tips!

Beautifully done videos by you guys. So great to see some spots that I'm very familiar with and some that I'm not.
Drought in Minnesota has caused some premature leaf change. You really need to come back in Sunny weather when everything will look even more spectacular! When the sky is blue the water looks just awesome.
Looks like you skipped over Cascade River and Temperance River state parks. Both are beautiful, in fact Temperance ismy favorite river on the North Shore.

Great videos guys! Thanks for all the travel tips. I discovered Minnesota's beauty by going to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Endless route possibilities with the canoe. Black beach was owned by the CLIF mining company and was closed to the public for a couple years. Finally with an agreement with the city they opened it up, but also made it more accessible to the average tourist…. It was very remote for years!

Awesome series on Minnesota’s North Shore. I will let this comment speak for all the videos. As always, excellent job on the whole production. Great trails, great food, great filming, and great information.
I haven’t been to the North Shore area, only the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. This area really gives me vibes of Maine’s coast. I knew there were some neat waterfalls up in this region but I wasn’t expecting it to be so hilly. What a gorgeous area! If and when I get up Voyageurs, I will definitely add some time on for the North Shore. Thanks for sharing!
