Tonight You Belong To Me (The Bygones cover)

It's been a while! How are you?! I'm happy to be back here on CZcams :)
Josh and I just finished our first U.S. headlining tour as The Bygones, and we were so blown away by the response and how many of you showed up and sang and danced along to our music! It was truly a dream come true. We decided to film this quick song on a day off after our show in D.C. where we spent some time at Thad's parent's house which they were so kind to host us all!
"Tonight You Belong to Me" was written in 1926 by lyricist Billy Rose and composer Lee David. The first ever recording was made by Irving Kaufman in 1926 on Banner Records, and in 1927 Gene Austin recorded it and the song became a major hit! One of my favorite versions of this song is the 1956 version performed by the sister duo, Patience and Prudence.
Josh and I are heading back out on the road(or plane I suppose) at the end of this month to come and play for you folks across the pond! We are over the moon to be touring again in the UK and even more excited to play some dates in Europe for the very first time! Be sure to grab your tickets! It's bad enough when Josh can sing great and play an incredible guitar...but he whistles perfectly! It's not fair!!! TOO MUCH TALENT WITH THESE 2! IT'S OVERWHELMING!
The whistling is the only part where a bit of studio manipulation happened, but I can't hear any autotune on the vocals. I really love this.

I adore your duet sound and the simple vibe you generate together. As a 76-year-old musician, I have heard this song many times throughout my life, but this version is as sweet or sweeter than all the rest. LOVE IT!

Am constantly amazed at this guy. Is there nothing this guy is not proficient at playing? I have seen him over the years on several different instruments, playing as though he has played that particular instrument all his life. He is extremely proficient with the stringed instruments. I marvel at people that have that kind of talent. Thanks Josh for filming your songs and displaying your wonderful, amazing talent. It seems all the people on your videos are as talented as you. The first time this song entered my life was from the Steve Martin movie 'The Jerk,' with Bernadette Peters. I found your version on TikTok! I studied the male singers voice and even created a whistle harmony with his solo. I am three hundred and four years old, and here I am listening to this song that my wife and I used to listen to as we practiced synchronized swimming under the waves of Waccamaw River when the algae was in full bloom. She’s dead now, having flown her hang glider into the Hollywood Sign at the ripe old age of three hundred and three and two-quarters, but whenever I hear this song now I cannot help but excrete a compound of water, electrolytes, proteins, lipids, and mucins from my eyeholes. I’m here to tell you that this is real music, unlike the bongo solo that plays over and over in my head.

Great cover of a great little ditty. The Jerk made me fall in love with this song as a kid after I watched it with my dad. You and Josh together just shine so brightly together. Josh is lucky that he has a wife that's cool enough to not be jealous of playing music with you all the time.

Last week at the Monday night Bible Study a man pulled out a harmonica and started playing. I thought of you guys and how the harmonica couple be used on songs like this one. Of course I love whistling and I whistle all the time. Early Beatle and Zeppelin songs used harmonica. Just love you both. Magical is the word for you.
