- Full tour of a colourful and unique school bus conversion built with mostly reclaimed materials. This beautiful rolling tiny home cost only $15,000 CAD for the bus and the build combined. It's a full length 1997 International school bus that now has a full kitchen, living room, dining room, wood stove, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed as well as a bathroom with a porta potti toilet. The only thing missing is a shower but they wanted to keep the build as simple as possible and so they shower at campgrounds and go swimming.
Lena and Aaron built this beautiful DIY skoolie themselves, and they travelled in it to the Rocky Mountains, the Arctic Circle, and to Tofino, BC in the first year. That's a lot of adventures!

What a great idea to use two doors to extend the bathroom! I also like the moveable magnetic overhead lighting.
My favourite part is the magnetic hooks for the light. Brilliant idea!
It's not a house, it's a home! And a really pretty one😍
I love the handwoven pillows and wool roving curtain. Such a fun affordable conversion. Brilliant.
I love the birch legs and cabinetry, the rainbow chest, all the old wood. Thanks and I hope you are still enjoying it.
just rewatched this. is one of my favourites. I love the colourful handmade vibe and of course all that beautiful wood ❤️
I love that light with the magnets. What a great idea. God i wish i had one of those.
The planter for a kitchen sink is awesome! Love this home on wheels! So cozy🤗🤗
Love the rainbow curtain!!!
💖🐾💖
Wow! They did such an amazing job with this skoolie conversion!! Congrats👍👍
Thank you so much, Alex!
Thank you Aaron for your information and your wife GOD BLESS you both
A fabulous home .Well done to this young couple ... 👍
Great bus/tiny home!! Love all the wood and fabric colors. The bathroom/closet area is super nice! And I dig the wood stove. Very nice! ❤️💜💚
I love the movable magnetic pendant light and the bathroom privacy doors. Thanks for another great tour. Cheers!
very nice! I especially like the movable lights. Also... moms everywhere love the shout out to your mom! :-) Happy Trails!
I love seeing these. I drove a school bus for a living. One thing about them I know for sure is, in the winter it is freezing inside and in the summer they are an oven on wheels.
@Brenda Lambert you were safe in that bus than in a car during conditions like that!
i'm pretty sure they dont live in that bus. its neat for a camping trip, thats about it.
I can’t see them living in it full time with no shower, nothing to cover the windows with especially in colder weather. You would need removable insulation panels for each window and something else to go over that to also block the cold and any drafts coming off the windows. The whole bus would have to be winterized. This seems like more of a camper than their home. Not having anything on the windows in the living, kitchen and front of the bus could be a problem even if they are just camping because everyone can see everything you do with the lights on as the windows aren’t tinted. It’s cute, but I can see them making changes after spending more time inside it.
Love seeing their creative touches all over the place. No big flash expenditures here, just resourcefulness.
Young creative minds at their best! Great job building your home. Beautiful work in the design and personal touches!
The magnetic hanging lamp is soo genius
Lena and Aaron, what incredible people! I really love them and I am following their three channels on Instagram.
This bus is amazing I love it it’s just perfect !!! ❤️❤️
When we lived in Florida, my ex husband had purchased a used USAF utility truck. He wanted to convert it into a camper. Since it had exterior storage, he did not have to put a lot of storage inside; but, there was still some. He built the camper part out of wood. He built the sleeping are over the cab of the truck. It was hot inside and I think he should have built some kind of ventilation system. In Florida, it does get cold in the winter; so, I'm not sure if putting in a fan; or, windows would have been the best thing. It was useable as a camper; but, for long trips; I'm not so sure how it would have held up.
When we moved to Washington, he wanted to buy a used school bus and convert it much like the couple in the video did; but, he never got the chance to do it.
Lived in a bus 4 summer of 98 or 99 in Jackson hole wy, as I guided rafts on the snake river, remembering good times
Very unique and colorful. Love colors.
ok, 40 seconds in and i have to pause: "_c_ool bus". friggin brilliant! 🤣
edit: great bus. i love how she said "...warmest place in the house"- not "the bus" or "the ti y house". "the house".
and mama's ~beautiful~ textiles throughout the bus are the jewels in the crown of this build.
EVERYTTHING LOOKS SO GOOD AND FUN!! YOU BOTH COMPLIMENT EACH OTTHER, YOU WERE BORN INTO ARTISTIC FAMILIES THAT KNOW HOW TO ENJOY LIFE!! THE COLORS EXEZUDE LIFE!! MUCM LOVE
Wonderful price total. It's exactly how much I want to spend. So many good features. Really like the table and all the adorable hand made pieces. Truly artistic and doesn't look junky but cohesive. Well done
I'd need more of a bathroom.
This bus is amazing I love the interior it’s just perfect !!! ❤️❤️
Such soothing colors used inside the bus. I absolutely loved it all
...sweet bus...sweet people...magic use of materials to create a cozy/unique space...very fun
I love it! So colourful and Boho. I adore these long buses and wish I lived in the US to be able to have one. UK roads are too congested to manage a vehicle of that size comfortably. US landscapes offer so much variety and to be able to move location and live in that gorgeous space must be fabulous for this couple.
That's so cool! A little small for me, but i love what they've done!
A lovely home they have created. Light and yet warm and inviting.
And some neat ideas implimented as well.
The magnetic lights. The option to expand the bathroom.
Very nice work.
Love how all the wood and the old dresser everything is recycled repurchased its very creative and I love the all the colors in the kitchen area you guys did a great job its a really cool build/home.
Very warm and homey, I'd live in it! Beautiful 💛
Absolutely enchanting. The storage? Wow. My favorite feature is the magnetic light.
Awesome. Truly awesome.
Hey Nancy, thank you so much for your kind words :-)
I LOVE that hemp weaving
loved the kitchen of bus
Just love it!! Love the originality and the colors on the drawer.
Beautiful bus🚍❤️Great job!
They are all set for the challenges we face living now... Good for them!
He s so beautiful! Sweet and funny. Love the way he talks. He s the german one, I can see. "Thank you mama", adorable.
Where is this? Canada or USA?
Love evrithing about it
this is the closest thing to the build I am envisioning for myself, very simple and seems do-able at a reasonable expense!
LOVED this so many brilliant ideas from this young couple thank you so much for sharing this incredible story truly an amazing video
Nice! school bus conversions are catching on everywhere
After we're done with our Europe travels in our little camper, we definitely want to upgrade to a bus to allow for a bit more space 🙈 ! This one is such a dream... you guys have done an incredible job. We love your kitchen sink... it's so spacious & unique!! I also love the modularity of everything, like the fridge being stored under the kitchen bench!! Well done... gonna find you on insta now :) xx Tania 🚐💕
Very smart to put the kitchen up front👍. I love every detail of the bus. It's home💞. Safe travels together always ❣️.

Man, I would leave my job and apartment behind to go live in a bus with this gorgeous lady. How that dude got a girl like that to live on a bus with him, is beyond me.
Nice conversion and also a great bus for that price !
What a beautiful home guys well done I love your home interior is beautiful enjoy it🥰
真的很棒,我特别喜欢这种房屋模式。
Canadian !Happy New Year !Home sweet home!
Very smart and well done on the interior design. Very open. Some bus builds can seem cluttered.
I love your bus it looks awesome!
such a cute place!! Those magnetic lights are so fun. I wonder how much the wood stove needs to run in a Kelowna winter with those original windows.
Supercute bus!! 💕
Love it guys xx
Very nicely done.
this bus is awesome👍🏻 a great idea!!
Beautiful
Very good! Very unique!
Great Video!!
I love this so much!!
I got to tour this house at Van Life Diaries gathering in Banff Alberta Canada! I think I have a couple pics of it in my Banff video.
Sweet house, Very nice people. Fun gathering.
Really like this, it's beautiful - I wonder where they wash themselves and if they have window coverings for all those windows for insulation and Light
thats really cool
Nice!
Love your videos
Thanks so much Robert :) :)
Wow Lena! BEAUTIFUL!! And the bus isn’t bad either. Great job on your build.
Sö beautiful n wild 🌫
Why couldn't I go to elementary school on a school bus like this back in 1973 and 1974, in kindergarten and the first grade. It would of been nice.
Are camp stoves safe indoors or do you need to do something for ventilation?
I love how it says “cool bus”
Wow another great skoolie. My only questions is about the wood on the walls and closet. They look like the Japanese technique of burning the wood was done to them. Did they do it themselves and does it smell like burned wood forever? I am a quilting fiber artist and I can’t have my fabric infused with that smell. But I really love how it looks. Please keep the skoolie videos coming. I am definitely looking at a skoolie as opposed to a van which will eliminate my stealth ability but wow what great interiors and the feeling of being in a home.
Nice ...C..OOL Bus! AND! Sony Camera with a Canon lens...? They are so quirky!
Cool.....😲
Hi and Happy New Year! just curious do you find them or do they find you? I like the atypical/eclectic most of all. Rich
thanks ! ! !
i just keep hearing Alyson Hannigans "one day, at band camp" voice.
Borneo tapestry ❤️
Any girl from Telangana India to love to live this way.
🇬🇧 Table legs need dangerous spiky bits trimming off.
Very nice! God bless!
Where is the shower?
A bus with soul, that's all that Matters.
