Today we go over ALL the changes coming to the brand new r6 season, including the new operator deimos, a shield rework, new ads and attachment changes, lmg changes, and much more. However, we're not just talking about all the new changes in Y9S1 of R6, but also how these changes will effect the game, and whether or not all of these changes should actually come with the new r6 season. Y9S1 is a major step up in siege quality, but that doesn't mean we can't still critique the changes and make this new r6 season EVEN BETTER.

A little note on lasers pre-update:
for shotguns it did not only tighten the hipfire spread, it also significantly improved the spread when aiming down sights for some reason, i tested that multiple times
they did this in recent seasons too, just not as much most would be happy with. 16ish meter french shotgun laser ADS shot? yeah 80 damage. but you COULD do 140 if another pellet connected! thank goodness they're gonna make them work more realistically next season.

I hoping Jager would’ve gotten that 2.5
Honestly they should give it to Wamai and Jäger or neither, so one isn’t better per say, but you’d take one over the other depending on the situation (Jäger for smaller sites where util needs to be DESTROYED and Wamai for larger sites where if it’s caught or destroyed, won’t change much).

I really think the ACOG is not as good as you think. I remember when they took it off Ash her Win Delta actually improved. Especially as a console player, I think alot of players are going to get absolutely naenae'd in close quarters if someone comes around the corner with that horizontal grip at mach 3 speed with a 1x. It's definitely going to change the meta, we will see, maybe you're right.
Agreed.There is a reason the acog fell out of the meta back then.And now it is even worse because it doesn't give you and ads buff like a 1.0 does.The meta will shift to 1x sooner or later it is just nostalgia hitting rn

I 100% agree. Especially on an operator like Ash where you're trying to be imposing and get in your opponents faces, the ACOG can really hurt you. On an operator like thermite, or if you expect to spend the round holding angles and supporting rather than playing a more entry role than I can see the ACOG being useful but in most situations I'm using the Holo.
The defense dmrs getting acogs TECHNICALLY makes sense, but still I’m a bit worried that aruni and tubarao will mainly be picked only for that reason alone. But let’s see how it plays out.
i remember hearing deimos wasn’t getting ACOG on the ak? but now it looks like he will, i think he should personally but i guess that’s a reason why there’s the test server before it happens in the live build.
hence people have feedback about the RONI having ACOG which im glad he’s not getting anymore

jager needs a buff i never see him picked anymore and i love jager but wamai is better in pretty much everyway

The only thing I don’t like is the ads speed change, they should have just removed peekers advantage. That would stop the swing or be swung meta too.

peeker's advantage happens because latency, you get latency from a delay when uploading and downloading packets, your ping is this latency.
why does this matter? because it takes that amount of time + the server's ping + the enemy's ping = a full registration! so when someone swings you on a door or a window, it takes that amount of time before you can see them, but guess what? they already had your position downloaded when they started swinging, giving them precious ms of time to react to you first then shoot you and kill you because on his client he just landed 2 bodyshots and a headshot, sent it through to ubisoft, then ubisoft sent it to you and you finally got the "game over" screen.
i have a pretty fast latency, a mere 120ms at the least. but you? oh idk, is your ping something like 30, the server youre on might be 40, and your opponent on 50?
friend, at best thats a solid 30+40+50=120 total latency! good job!
in summary,
if we made an input on your client, literally rode the packet through the whole way from your house IP to the opponent's IP and their client, you'd get there in 120ms. thats 0.120 seconds! what a fast ride!

If Ubi was smart they would've made an additional laser sight with a blue color instead of red, and have it function as the old laser sight. That way you get the best of both worlds.

So due to the iron sights changes, I'm planning on running them on glaz, assuming it works with his gadget active . . I'm not on the TTS so I do not know. But I plan on running them because I use the scope anyway, and don't want the laser sight because of how much it gives away position and glaz is, generally, stealthy. Thoughts?

If the utility throwing indicator works for Fenrir's gadget then im hyped. Too many times, I try and throw his gadget and it doesn't land where I want, but then it's too high for me to pick up

@@NoNo-qt4ovnot sure if fenrir is getting it in y9s1 but Ubi has said that they intend to extend the throwing indicator to ALL projectiles in the near future so fenrir WILL be getting it, it’s just a matter of when not if!!!

nice to see a content creator echoing everything ive been saying regarding the new season. it looks fine enough but theres so much debalancing going on here that just doesnt make sense. they should have kept 1.5 sight and MAYBE given it to a select few defenders with weak kits to justify their use. but defenders should never have 2.5. Anyone whos played siege for a long time knows that its fun to use but miserable to play against. warden having the 1.5 sight on an MPX single handedly justified his continuous use. 2.5 on defense leads to so many spawn peeks and extended gunfights just trying to exit spawn

that choke attachement for shotguns sounds great...I mean they said at SI that "we are heard" so maybe they're acutally gonna do it
(and maybe buff some of the shotguns that got rather nerfed than buffed with the shotgun rework ...the Russian sausage e.g. feels weaker imo)

Fr the defenders range now means that you can't go guns blazing anymore you'll need to be more careful to not get smoked

What annoys me about the laser change is the fact that players will NEVER not run it. It thus negates a lot of the ADS nerf anyway making that less harsh and more normal. Doesnt seem like itll have the intended effect.

We need my man Sledge to get a buff. He is literally the worst soft breacher right now with him loosing his speed and SMG and frag grenades being worse. It also doesn't help that Buck and Ram do his job 5x better.
I dont think he needs a buff to his gadget tbh, he counters castle better than other ops. Definitely deserves to get the SMG back though. I agree that Ram and Buck do a better job in most cases so I think they should make Sledge a 3 speed so he can navigate the map more efficiently to use the gadget better or rush with the shotgun.

Honestly been playing this game for a while and I think the game going back to its roots is a good thing, it'll balance out washed players and really really good players perfectly in my opinion but that's just cause I miss all the acog lol

It would be nice to be able to put chokes on shotguns as muzzle attachments. That would help out shotguns drastically. Rather than a laser sight🤷🏻♂️

I also don't really agree with the attachment changes like why change them to where operators get a speed buff or ads buff that completely nullifies anyone who has advanced optical settings and messes with core gameplay

there are 11 operators on ATK intended on taking long range gunfights filtered via gadget compatibility. *but* there are 26 operators on DEF that are CAPABLE of taking long range gunfights filtered via gadget compatibility.
fix the gadget, not the gun. too many passive gadgets are on defense which give them more reason to risk their life to gain man advantage early on when its least expected. on ATK there are much more active gadgets that prevent attackers from using them at range, they HAVE to be either in proximity or straightup ontop of site, killing them means this can prevent their entire plan depending on who dies.
Badger has already said before that the game feels backwards with attackers just baiting outside and defenders rushing out all the time, and this is after the shadow legacy changes, so its not the scopes. its the gadgets. he's also said in another video "GET IN THE FUCKING BUILDING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD" toward the attackers, why? because they baited outside so long that they actually got bored so they barricaded EVERY. DOOR. who was the op? Iana. a time-limited drone thats deployed inches away from you. what scope? 1.5 optic. baiting outside. not using her gadget properly. not using an "op" scope.
i rest my case, jager acog now.
They are trying to make it back into old siege but everything is so different now i dont think it will really work as ubi hopes

Me in operation health when Jager had acog in the first place: jagers pick rate was the most picked Defender back then if you looked at the charts him and ash acog, and so of they both return its over for anyone who isn't rushing or playing meta and they try to to with the team GL boys

siege kind of bugs me. they don't really seem to give any love to ops who actually need it. lets make cavs smg better instead of giving goyo and tubo a acog when they don't need it. both the roni and vector are already pretty solid. siege is kind of in a pickle because the 1.5 was a crutch to buff ops instead of actually buffing them . giving them an acog at least for defenders is not the answer. This change from what i know so far doesnt seem to buff anyone who needs it. Its nice to see siege making big changes to the game but i dont think the direction is great.

Bad changes overall. When they removed acogs from bandit and jager they said that only 1 speed ops on def would have acogs. They made echo 2 speed, removed his acog. They made mute 1 speed, haven't gave him an acog(wtf is this?). Now some 2 speeds have an acog on def, like mozzie, then they remove it. They don't remember the original plan, then trying to "fix" meta. We need to stop tdm meta, lets ad more speed with horizontal grip, so they would peek faster from behind corners. What a laughing stock of a team of developers. They can't even fix alibi's prisms to show your current skins and attachments on them. But lets give a guy a wallhacks to fix tdm meta. Right...

@@milleraidan12 I literally play support and have a 0.9 something KD. I’ve never used a frag grenade or the G36C. I never jiggle-peek or play stupidly aggressive. I drone, make callouts, open walls, ect, but I worry about how slowing down the PLAYER might not change the meta. I hated the gunfight meta but I also hated that the playerbase seemed to blame it all on one thing. Instead of making the game clunkier, they could actually *think* about solutions to slow down the gameplay loop without making the average player a sitting duck to anyone who already had mechanical skill. I don’t want quick reactions to be punished. I don’t want the 1.5 scope to be removed. I don’t want a lore breaking operator to be added to the game. I have no problem with Ubi making the gameplay loop more tactical, most of the operators I play would benefit from this actually. But I also find the way they chose to go about it to be concerning. Slowing down the PLAYER won’t neccessarily slow the meta. It’ll just make gunfights feel clunky and unrewarding, will cause (especially lower rank) players to just ADS constantly, and will make certain guns a balance nightmare with the proposed recoil changes.
How about instead of making fun of someone for not agreeing with you, you actually try to have a discussion with them?

They broke things that didn't need any "fixing" why remove the 1.5? Anyone? Why slow down ads? There was no reason for doing these things AT ALL! Ubisoft is so incompetent with every game they have. Had to delete the game for the bs they added to the game. Is there good that they did to the game? Yes, yes they did! But the bigger things that they messes with is the main issue I have with the game. I hated siege back then when it released cuz of the HORRIBLE recoil and sound cues. Then after years they finally fixed it! Them they take it away?! Like what?! Sound is still trash at times if not most of the time and I just don't know anymore. I'm just venting at this point. Sorry for venting out here, just looking to find people with different views about this and I want to genuinely understand their side.

#1 and only thing: Give everyone 1.5x. 2.0x. 2.5x and 3.0x. I get it 1.5 will still dominate but a lot of players won't like the huge meta change. Personally im fine with it but some are quitting year 9 just because there's no more 1.5. I understand it. They got used to a scope for a very long time and now they are removing it?
Good. We don't need the 1.5 Warden mains in the game. They won't be missed. We are going back to old siege, that is a good thing, not a negative thing.

Players requesting acog on certain players, or requesting it in general should just go play COD. That kind of mindset is whats wrong with the game. If you need a longer sight for a game that has the average gun fight range of 10m, your trash! Warzone is your game children! You wont be missed
