This hearing is long overdue and I am so glad Dr.Wentrup and Dr.Ruiz are asking good questions and pointing out Mr.Daszak's many deceptive moments, particulary publishing that letter calling eminent scientists and physicians conspiratory theorists for questioning Daszak's bioweapon research and demand we not look at his lab creations on the Lancet and publishing that misleaddemanding pangolin story. Why does he continue to get NIH funding?

Do you recall a hearing where Rand Paul brings up a letter of an ad asking for 100's of virologists to work in labs in Ukraine, they would be working on the covid-19 virus, odd thing was, it was dated some times in 2017 (maybe 2015), I've never heard anymore about this. I wonder if this had anything to with those 43 labs in Ukraine. During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Russian officials claimed that public health facilities in Ukraine were "secret U.S.-funded bioweapons labs". Russia claimed Ukraine was blowing-up those lab, to hide evidence.

Many Virologists looked at the gene sequence and recognized lab protocols that were made to enhance to contagiousness of the bat virus, thus such signs were distinctly showing this to be lab oriented, not a natural sequence associated with a bat. Has this been shown to Daszik? This is a crucial piece to iron out here. The fact that he had once said the transfer dance of a virus from an animal to a human was very rare, then changing his tune, indeed, points to his deceitful intentions, and subsequent actions.
The way the virus appeared to 'hit the ground running' alone was enough to warrant investigation, regardless of its appearance next to the Wuhan lab.
Then considering the Furin site and surrounding research - all known extremely early on - it seems insane that we're only at this point in 2024.
By now, IMO, the questions should be around dual use research, ties to DoD, and investigations into other bio-labs around the world, and who is carrying out work around bio-weapons development.
Then a long hard look at the fact that the spike protein is in the virus and the "cure".

Mitch Benzine had the sharpest and most laser focused questioning of the bunch. His questions laid bare something that I had been noticing about Daszak's testimony - his tendency to state things unequivocally when he actually doesn't have sufficient evidence to be able to make categorical statements on certain matters, in cases where someone with more integrity would only feel comfortable making a qualified claim (e.g. "as far as I know...", or "to the best of my knowledge...", etc.). For example, if someone asks me if the train arrived late and I say no, they're going to assume that I was at the station and witnessed the train arriving on time. It's not ok to say the train didn't arrive late simply because you don't have evidence of the train arriving late. This is equivalent to implying that the train arrived on time, simply because you don't have evidence of it arriving late. Peter Daszak is certainly a smart individual, but at times in a somewhat slippery way.
