That was fun! I, too make my sewing space personal and fun. My daughter bought me hallmark flower fairies and i maspde a sewing fairy garden on a shelf. They hold sewing notions and one sits on a pincushion. I love to make pincushions and they are all over my space. Love the hats!!!

Your sewing room is amazing. I’m in the process of redoing my craft room after being in this house for 14 years and I’m just overwhelmed with the idea of it all. I love all your shelves for small storage, that is something I need to consider. And the yoga pants hangers are genius, I have 3 in my Amazon cart but thinking I’ll need more. Lol. Oh love, this is such a perfect creative space❤ I especially loved the owl, as my mom loved them. I cried when you said your grandmother is there and she would be happy there. Her purse is so cute. I loved everything!! Thank you for sharing❣

This looks like this is your happy place! BTW, my MIL is from Japan and she has a few dolls from Okinawa in glass cases. 🙂

I love your sewing room, Katie! Everything is so pretty, unexpected, and you. I can see you in all of it. What moves your heart, what brings you joy and what has made you the fun and happy sweet woman. I've been in a depression I'm doing it everyday. Pushing pushing, like a big line backed I have to get out of my way, did you say that? It feels like something you'd say. Lol if I can have some of your sweet humble God like spirit, maybe I don't that line backer so big, I'll starve him. Lol I love love love your sewing room. Cute room, much more organized than my room!!! Good use of wall space and cherished mementos, cool hidden storage places. Nice to hang your needlework fabrics, mine are flat in a floor storage trunk, and some in scrapbooking cases. I need a wool ironing mat. Thanks for sharing!!!
Loved your sewing room Katie, I’m using a bookcase that hubby made for my stash, books and patterns, it works a treat. I got him to put curtain rail hangers on and I purchased design wall felt from MSQC and I use those jumbo clips to hold it in place whilst it is in use, then I clip the whole design wall up and then I see all my fabric. Above this is containers of all my off cuts which Im going to sort into sizes so i can then plan a memory quilt of all the quilts I have made. My cutting table is one we got from ALDI however my husband made it higher as it was too low for me, I have a rack on it that holds all my cutting boards and all my rotary cutters. Underneath this is all my cross stitch patterns, floss & works in progress. Then I have another wardrobe selling insert where I store all my wool, next to this is the laundry cabinet that I have batting stored in, next to this is my Nic knack draws that hold quilt templates, zips, hair ties (when I was making face masks) cottons notations and sewing machine feet. Next to this is 2 sets of draws that hold my scissors, lollies - as you have to have them whilst you are creating, pegs, clips, markers and all that stuff. It’s a bit of mess at the moment, but I know where everything is. I will clean it up come Spring (am in Australia) as this is when I re-commence my quilting. Have a lovely rest of the week, and thank you for taking the time to give us a tour of your room.
Katie you should watch Nikki on “Pin, Cut, Sew”. She is a great quilter who doesn’t spend and spend. She’s wonderful with fabrics and using up scrapes. Also, “Julie’s Farmhouse”. She’s Korean and she is WONDERFUL. You would love her channel

Absolutely loved it all especially your eclectic collection and that your grandmother is there in your memories by displaying the things she loved that give you such great memories! My grandparents were all passed by the time I was born so I missed out on that special bond. Trying to create it with my 5 grandchildren now!
This is so inspiring Katie! I love that it’s functional but still so beautiful. You have an eye for decorating (that I do not have at all). I loved the little quilt hanging down off the top of one of your wall cabinets… such a sweet touch. I out all my sewing fabric on comic book boards too, as well as my linen but so like your idea of hanging the linen better. I’m curious how you label them though. 🤔 Might be rearranging my linen soon because this feels easier to grab out when you need it. Thanks for sharing your space!!! ❤

Mine is not as organized as yours (yet) but I do have a lot of different things that I love in there that are just for me to look at and don’t pertain to sewing or cross stitch. I just love to look at them. I may sue some of your organization tips and storage ideas for my room. My walls are plaster so I’m not able to put a lot of holes in the wall so that limits me on what I can hang from the wall so most of my wall space is covered with book cases and shelving units for storage. Great tour!
