This is a 1984 recording. He also recorded Shhudh Kalyan at the same time. One may hear these 2 renditions one after another and realise how a 18 yr old genius was delineating one raga from another very close one , inefficiently done by many so-called greats.
Dr.L.Madhav Rao Banish your own confusion! "ga and re" are very much notes of bhoop. It is a pentatonic raaga with the notes ma and ni dropped out, while in shuddha kalyan it is sa re ga pa da (bhoop anga) in the ascendant and all the seven notes in the descendant.
The main aspect that makes this rendition Bhoopali and not Shuddh Kalyan is the R G P\G R phrase. In Shuddh Kalyan, the meend from Pa to Ga has an apparent presence of Tivra Ma and is slower in expression. Also, in Bhoopali, Re is a Nyas swar, a prominent stopping note.
Miss you Ustad Ji, even God could not resist himself from calling you at his place for listening your Bhajans.

Ustad Rashid Khan was born in 1968, and he was 16 years old in 1984... His voice is very mature in this audio... It's unbelievable for me....🔥
can you share the link to the shhudh kalyan video?

Lyrics?
Raag of shukra
Such a mastro....
Confusing!! Bhoop Ang does not have a "ga re" like that of Kalyan!!! here ustadji very specifically uses the Suddha kalyan "ga re"..
+Keshav Raikar Sa Re Ga Pa Dha Sa' -- Sa' Dha Pa Ga Re Sa.. isn't the aaroha-avroha this?
I was thinking the same. This sounds more like Shuddha Kalyan.
