- MandRproductions compares two of the most recent LEGO Star Wars AT-ST models! From 2016 based off Rogue One we have the 75153 AT-AT Walker & from 2019 based off The Mandalorian we have the 75254 AT-ST Raider! Both sets have extremely similar builds but is one actually better than the other for it's Minifigures, Color, Displayability, or should you just buy both?

In terms of value, the rogue one atst was probably the best set I’ve ever bought. In fact, all the rogue one sets had their own great merits. Great lineup, great film, great times.
Those death troopers were awesome.
Im so annoyed I missed out on every single Rogue One set.
I agree. If you have never heard of star wars before. Rouge one is a great film to get you started. Its one film with a good story. Cool characters. And you don't have to know a whole lot about Star wars to understand it. I'd even say its my favorite star wars movie.

Similarities of Captain Phasma and The Mandalorian:
Both have shiny armour
Both don’t like their troopers/cult members taking their helmets off
Both faces were briefly seen in Episode 8
And LEGO gave them both plain black heads
(Reply if you have noticed any other similarities!)
Both of their armor colors in LEGO are poorly misrepresented as gunmetal grey when the deserve the chrome/reflective silver treatment. A lot of people put Phasma’s cape on the Chrome Storm Trooper released a while back.

The 100 extra pieces are in the legs, back panel, and minifig.
I counted and including Baze’s gun and every accessory they both have 27 pieces in the figures.

In my opinion, I like the newer version. I just like how it looks. The fact that it looks salvaged and not clean. But the older one is still super cool. I wish I had that one. P.s got the newer AT-ST for only $40. Went on sale really quickly.

Got mine recently in Denmark so it was about 5 dollars cheaper for me
@@ethan_c The added detal in the back is where the 100 pieces went and it also added a better counterweight which caused the added stability you noticed.

Clearly set 7127, AKA the Squidward-house looking one, is the superior AT-STD walker.
But it's seriously a trip to see just how far these sets have come since the retro Lego Star wars age.
I feel like the 2016 version would have been much better if they would have included a fourth minifig, like maybe a shore trooper
That at st is based of those used on jedha and there were no shoretroopers there so it should have had a regular stormtrooper included

I'm glad they didn't change too much because they are both at-st's from the same universe so it makes sense to have them generally similar.

The 2016 model was actually a lot tighter I have them both and 2019 compared to 2016, 2016 is a lot tighter on the joints and spinning the head wise
When building the AT-ST Raider there were lots of instances where I was feeling like aspects, especially hidden internal ones, were made extra complex for no reason other than part count.
And those stickers on the 1x2 wedge bricks, nice touch but when will you even see that
I feel like the atst raiders shape is a little different I feel like they tried to get it a little closer to the shape but the old one is very nice i agree with you i like both
I prefer the 2016 one just because it fits in with the Imperial sets, whereas the Scavenged one is faction-less. And asides from the colour difference, they’re practically identical so....
The at-st raider body have a combination of the imperial and FO at-st made by LEGO.
I think the body contains the most pieces just looking at it they definitely added more pieces to its body.
To me I like the imperial era at-st more then a rusty old one of the raider. The raider does come with better figures imo.
What you said about the rebel trooper is why I like clone troopers over resistance and rebel troopers and then storm troopers can’t aim
I have the new one cuz of the mandalorian fig, but I think it comes down to which look you prefer cuz they’re both great sets. I do wish I had bought the 2016 one tho because they look so cool together

I love the newer Unique Raider AT ST. It's a question of taste because it is basically the same build. I just like the cables hanging out, something that nobody seems to mention. It's a nice detail that Lego could have omitted and I appreciate such details.
One last thing, I do not put lights on my builds but this raider AT ST would be the only one I would use red lights inside to give it the red sinister glow as in the show.
The base for the head is larger on the 2019 version which would make the piece count larger

I just bought the 75254 ATST and I love it.
Both great sets. Any fan of Mando has to get the newer one. The nice thing with the older one is that it can be used in several cannon Mocs, while the new one is on screen for only a few minutes.
I got the newer one for $40 since it was on sale, I love the color scheme for it and it's a great display piece
I find that the 2019 at st looks like the captured resistance walker from star wars battlefront 2.

2016 at-st deserves the point for playability as the guns on the side panels don’t fall off with every touch unlike the at-st raider (you could see it happen just demonstrating the guns- you subtly pushed it back in place.) Sturdiness is an attribute to playability and with all else equal, this is a win for 2016
As much as I like the Raider, with it's rugged look and a better minifigure selection, I prefer the original Imperial design. I love how clean looking it is and I have a personal bias for Imperial vehicles. Also, the price was excellent. Honestly, It's probably the best Rogue one set imo, and one of my favorites.

Great comparison! I’ve watched all of you new ones, I think you should do a comparison with all the minifig-scale x-wing star fighters and a comparison between the 2 imperial troop transports
Mandr, the 2016 atst should win the design category as it was the first to use that design
I actually own both and I love them both. It's pretty cool to have them battle one another on my Lego Display. The 2016 model is your factory stock model while the 2019 model has more personality and charm. Both still beat my 2001 model in every single way, except not have Chewbacca...
Found the raider on amazon for 20% off so just had to go ahead and purchase

I got the raider atst, excellent build. I'm a little disappointed at the Mandalorians print -- in the show he had his upgraded armor by this point and I feel the print should reflect that.

I never opened my old AT. I just took the mando version and replaced the colored parts for mixed metal greys. The new one is a much better version of the old one if you do that. If that made sense lol. I recommend it. I’ll post pictures at some point. Great video topic!
I have both, the knob in the back that controls the head rotation is way different on both. The 2016 version is really responsive, barely turning it causes the head to whip around really fast. The 2019 version is more controlled and doesn't whip around as bad. If you look closely in the video you can see the difference

The 2016 set is better... both are good. But no question the first one is better, all that is needed to make a perfect At-St is to combine the overall structure of the first one with some new pieces of the second one. But like I said the 2016 one to me is better.

You actually can modify the first order AT-ST to make it look like a proper AT-ST.
But the set sucks anyway. I wanted it at first, but then found out it was dumb.
I mean, it is a standard ATST, but missing its head, which is the interesting part of an ATST
I prefer the mando, but if they remade the rouge one and made the design a little better, that would be my favorite imo
I choose the 2019. I don't have any and it's the cheapest now :) And I like more the minifigs (the Mandalorain and Kara)

The back of the raider atst is more accurate because the imperial atst didn’t have the fuel cells and “paint roller” peices on the back unlike the raider version

I have both and I don’t like them that much. They look and feel stiff, and are missing crucial point of articulation in the legs.
