Love this type of video! Peaceful to watch, very informative. My personal faves are the rummy nose, purple emperor tetra (is that the same as the blue?), cardinals, and. bleeding hearts. I’d love more vids like this. Great job!
I love your "peaceful meditations" voice. ;-) Lovely collection of tetras. I would include wild-caught gold tetras. Their metallic sheen is so unique. Also, I have a soft spot in my heart for bleeding heart tetras. They have fallen out of fashion, but they school so nicely and have such a nice shape. A big group of those in a big tank is just breathtaking.

So many amazing tetras out there, these are some great choices for your top 5. I live in China and haven't ever seen the Green fire tetras in the markets here but those are amazing and I might have to special order some.

I could not make an top 5 tetra list there are just too many amazing tetra out there.

A very calming video. I’ve had a very stressful day so that has helped immensely. 🙂 I do have a quick question, I inherited a single Silver Tip Tetra that’s about 18 months old. I’m not sure if it is male or female but it is very placid & currently lives with 3 Mickie Mouse platties and a Bristle Nosed Plecco. I’m about to upgrade them from a 6.5g to a 20g tank. Would it be safe to put Betta in with it? The tank will be heavily planted and obviously, I am happy to buy a few more Silver Tips.

75g- rainbow emperor
125g- diamond

I like both tetras and barbs
My favorite is the ember tetra. However I did buy 6 black neons last week (gorgeous fish), along with 3 more embers (all they had), and all the neons died in quarantine last night while all 3 embers are so far ok. Did lg wc and keeping an eye out - tg for quarantine tanks! Assuming neons came in diseased as water parameters were good. I'm bummed but will try again once the embers are done with quarantine, which is now extended for another couple weeks. ☹️
Can put all different tetras together? Ex. 6-8 of these red neon, cardinal, green neon, black neon, blue emperor, black emperor, rummy nose, ember, kitty tetra, lemon tetra, pristella, buenos aires, congo, silver tip, penguin green fire, white cloud minnows, zebra danios and koi angel fish (4)
I'm a sucker for rummy nose tetras because their schooling behavior is really impressive and when they're happy and water is clean, their faces can become a crimson red. However I've been really itching to get a school of emperor tetras.
My emporers are the most enjoyable schooling species i have ever owned.

Thoughts on silver tips with shrimp? I have a huge shrimp colony that lives with dwarf loaches and has previously lived with neon tetras and pea puffers without much issue. I’m sure some babies get picked off but not enough to really notice. Same with the silver tips? Or since they’re nippier might they be more troublesome? Love the look of them so much and thinking about adding 20 in my 40b setup.
Silvertips should be fine. Like you said, some shrimplets will get picked off but generally should be ok.
I just have Buenos Aires Tetras as dithers for my Blood Parrots and Severum
Do you think Rummy Nose would pair well with Silver Tipped?

I've seen silver-tip tetras the size of a large Congo tetra at my LFS. It's the main reason I haven't bought any-- I don't want them to get that big!
I would verify the Identity of those "Silvertip Tetras". I have never seen a true Silvertip grow to 1/3 the size of a Congo.
