Used to own a 51 Panhead that had a front motor mount that was completely broken off the case. Brother in law knew someone who was an aircraft mechanic, if memory serves, that Tig welded it back on and did a great job. I guess, worst case scenario, saw owner could do the same. 👍🍻
Thats true and if he screws it up he still has that donor saw. Hes not a collector. Its just his big saw.

Not my cup of tea. I like the new saws. They run cleaner , lots of parts available too. I recently picked up a gently used Husky
543xp to go with my 545 and 550xp.
Old saws are cool but less cool to run. Nice mid-size line up of saws you have there! Have you seen the new 540xp mark III?

@@alans.4658 Thats up to you. Its just another saw in that mid size pro grade lineup. I think the 543 may be going away and as far as I know was the only "made in Japan" saw in the line up.

Congrats on the subs, well deserved. I like the older equipment. One of the reasons I’m so finicky. Wonder if epoxy could fix the plastic. I have an old sears-roper saw that has a broken reed hsg. Nothing I’ve found has worked yet.
What model is the sears roper?

I have the Craftsman ver. A 5.2 30 they are hard to find parts for as I need the front handle
Sounds like a 1977 Yamaha YZ80 that I had. That thing should be the centerpiece of somebody’s man cave.
I can tell you this saw is just used as the "big bar saw". It may not be the centerpiece of a man cave but I think its respected for what it is.
Old saws very cool to collect better be able to fix yourself if your going to use them on regular basis where would I be with out spell check later!
