Something about Amy Sedaris speaking Jawanese made me think she did that as a joke on set one day and they made it part of her character.
Sounds like exactly what Wesley Snipes did in Demolition Man when they thawed him out. He started speaking Spanish in that scene as a joke and they kept in.

Fennec's smile when she saw Din again... she almost looks smitten.
And then I remember that she was present when Din launched an assault on an imperial star destroyer just to rescue a baby. And then violated his own creed just to let the baby see his face before having to part ways.
I can see how that might make any woman smitten. Even a hardened assassin.

I love how everyone was like, no I don't want the spear to go, but then, it's is going to be armor for Grogu, hell yes!
But if the spear was still around, then Din would have been able to use it instead of the Dark Saber, since he was having difficulties with it. As it is, he needs to learn how to use the Dark Saber which makes for story material.
That they gave Mark Hamill's stand in, Max Lloyd-Jones, a role as a pilot with Paul Sun-Hyung Lee is so cool!!
He deserved it, that season finale wouldn't be half as good if he didn't mimic Mark Hamill perfectly
The fact he was in the episode bodes well for seeing Luke next week too!

I’ve heard it described that lightsabers aren’t inherently “weightless” feeling, and have a sort of gyroscopic effect. That makes it incredible hard to wield if you fight against it, it wants to move in certain ways.
Which is why it's helpful to be Force sensitive as they can use the Force to "see" which way it's moving and flow with it.
also in legends atleast the darksaber was made heavy to more closely feel like a Mandalorian Baskar sword
Yeah that's why Kanan was teaching lightsaber techniques to Sabine in Rebels when he was teaching her how to wield the Darksaber. He mentioned how the more you train and learn to trust it the lighter it gets.
Humm, I wonder if Din going to run into a certain female Mando who can show him what she learned in Season 3?
The devices weigh maybe a kilo or two. The blade is entirely weightless. It is also, a blade of light, not plasma. It only became "plasma" when everyone realized you couldn't make a blade out of light. Now, we know you actually can, utilizing quantum entanglement. You can potentially make a solid, self-terminating laser beam, with sufficiently advanced technology. On the other hand, what you can't ever do, is make a plasma blade that will do what lightsabers do...without melting you just for being withing 100 feet of it. Magnetic fields don't contain radiant heat. They just stop the plasma from coming in contact with something.

The reason the darksaber is heavy for Din is also explained in Rebels when Sabine was training with it.

True. He needs to connect with him. He might not be force sensitive, but the kybercrystal is powered by the force all the same. As he gets more comfortable and learns how to work with it it’ll get easier. He needs a jedi to teach him.

Jay, that's why there's 7 episodes instead of 6. They wove in an extra episode with Din so the story makes so much more sense. Just be patient and enjoy the ride.

We’ve hit peak Star Wars. I loved every god damn second. And to think Richie Cunningham’s daughter just directed one of my favourite ever SW moments. Bryce Dallas Howard absolutely nailed that episode. Make her make more Star Wars stuff as soon as possible. She’s brilliant.

Mando noticeably being more violent and set on not changing himself and holding on to past things and events While Boba has been working on healing gaining followers protecting his own and honoring his code.

I think you're right. I didn't realize it at the time, but the opening sequence really showed the dangers and the drudgery of the bounty hunter life as Din trudged through it. It's a perfect counterpoint to Boba moving beyond that life and claiming a larger role...
Getting kicked out of Deathwatch is the 2nd best thing to ever happen to Din...after meeting Grogu of course.

this episode is insane! Bryce Dallas Howard is such a great director! I'm really afraid that this will be the best episode of the Book of Boba Fett, Mando is such a badass, so much more badass than Boba was this season. I hope they will find a badass place for Boba since he doesn't have it yet.

Absolutely it doesn't have to mess with Boba's shawshank arc ither. Just some menacing disintegrations and genuine fear from his enemies would do a lot for his Badassery
I liked how they made the dark Saber heavy. Goes back to Episode 4 and Lucas's original idea of making the lightsaber heavy to hold.
Armorer: "Then you are a Mandalorian no more." Din: "Um, I have the Dark Saber. YOU'RE not Mandalorian anymore."

Setting up the hype for the next two episodes to get everyone to tune in
This episode was basically just an episode of Mando and I don’t even care. I’m so happy and this episode was so satisfying. This was everything good about Mando s1 and 2 and the prequels and rebels all wrapped up in one delicious milk shake of an episode as you guys once said. And Grogu next episode!!! Let’s gooo!! I think he’ll only visit then go back to Boba. Din I mean. He won’t bring Grogu into a battle unnecessarily. I think he made him a new ball toy on a chain. Maybe it’ll eventually become part of his light saber. I’d love to see him become a Mandalorion jedi. It was also great to see the armorer and Paaz Viszla again. I didn’t really realize how coltish their covert was until she started explaining about Bokatan and the way. But I also liked learning more about their creed. That their views on attachment were the opposite to the jedi. And that ship building montage was cool if a bit long. Same with the flying sequence. Now this is pod racing! I definitely think him going to Mandalor will be a big arc in s3 as well as him trying to redeem himself while trying to find his own path. He had good reason for taking off his helmet those times. Oh and we can’t forget Mando’s two iconic lines! That made my heart happy. That beginning felt like the pilot. Though he struggled real hard with the dark saber. I loved seeing him train. But he needs a jedi’s help not another Mando’s. Particularly with the mental aspect which is mostly foreign to Din since he’s not force sensitive and never even heard of jedi until pretty recently in the timeline. I can’t wait to see him reunite with Grogu! I hope Luke is ok with it. But there has to be a season 2 now. Not enough time to wrap everything up.
Pretty sure this was indeed a S3 episode, iirc boba fett was only suppose to have 6 episodes like most of the Disney+ shows
This for me was the best episode of the season and immediately I remembered how much more I’m into Din than Boba. It’s time to retire Boba, long live Din.
~ Give and Take ~. Just expect some episodes with Boba in it in Mandalorian season 3. I don't see what's the fuss all about, yo! Go with the flow.
I think what they were trying to accomplish is the theme of tribes and sense of belonging, which is a recurring theme in this series thus far. Boba said everyone needs a tribe but what happens when your tribe is gone? That's something both of them can relate to and I think from that thematic perspective, this episode hits home a bit harder, but I do agree, this was more of a Mando episode!
You build your own tribe. I’m getting the feeling that the Mudhorn Clan will soon expand beyond two members. Wink wink.
23:27 The biggest difference here is that this was ENTIRELY a Mandolorian epsiode. The Ashoka and Boba Fett episodes in the Mandolorian still very much had Din in them. Boba was nowhere to be seen here, and the most reference to him that there was in the episode was the exchange between Din an Fennec at the end. But there was still enough crowd-pleasing stuff that I don't think it mattered that much. So long as they get back to Boba next episode.
This episode made me sooo happy. I definitely needed that this week.

I like how this episode is basically the opening for Mandalorian Season 3. That BD Droid was the same droid Cal Cestis had in the Fallen Order video game, I'm not quite sure if they're actually THE same.
That Halo colony and that club in it is like a mashup of Halo and Mass Effect universe and I love it!
That Starfighter kinda reminds me of the Batmobile from The Batman, and customized version of something that has a crapload of engine power. If there's going to be a figure or model kit of that I'm preordering it Day 1. 🤣

Good episode, but what stands out to me the most, both characters have had life-changing events, Boba the pit and the sand people, Mando the child, they’re not the same people they were, they’re moving forward to their own future

There's just something so special about watching an N1 fly on screen again. I couldn't help but giggle like a kid again watching his new ship tear through Beggar's Canyon.
And I can't help but think that if Grogu liked speeding on one of those speeder bikes, he's going to love his little viewing port while he and Mando tear through space in the new space hotrod.
I can’t help it but I have the strongest feeling that the Armorer was complicit in the sacking of Mandalor.

What are the early odds for there being a mythosaur in the living waters beneath Mandalore when Din goes there to make the Armorer happy again? I think he will see Boba ride the rancor and we will see Din eventually ride a mythosaur

The Mythosaur signet has been a staple of Mandalrian culture for eons. It's fate that Jango stole the one ship that resembles such an imposing beast.
I sure someone else commented it, but Robot chicken is quoting episode one with the "Wizard" thing. Anakin's bestie when he was a little kid said that, hence the Robot Chicken joke about Vader bringing back slang from when he was a kid.

I was absolutely ecstatic and definitely freaking out with seeing Din Djarin and the legendary Darksaber again in this episode. Also, seeing him fix, modify, and pilot a N-1 starfighter was absolutely incredible, especially when he said "wizard" after the test flight. I like to thank the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard for directing yet another Star Wars masterpiece.

I have a theory about this episode being solely Mando. My guess is that Book of Boba Fett was originally planned on being 6 episodes but then they’re like wait let’s do a mando episode and stick it in there so we’ll say it’s 7 episodes. we can further mando’s story so that season 3 can hit the ground running. So I think it was gonna be 6 but then they added that in there and made it 7 episodes which seems like a weird number. I also don’t think we’ll see Grogu next episode I think that we’ll go back to Boba and then Mando will come back for the season finale of this show to help and we’ll see where he went, in season 3 of Mando
OMG! When he went in with the saber, I had the same exact reaction as Jay! I could NOT stop laughing AND crying!
One of the best 50mins of solid great Star Wars we’ve had for a while I think, but odd/a shame that one of best Mando episodes wasn’t in Mando, and one of the best Boba episodes did not include Boba.
I can't wait til they get the balance right. Gonna be one helluvan episode if they do :)

The Halo ring structure in The Book of Boba Fett was a reference from Larry Niven's 1970 novel book called Ringworld. Halo game series took inspiration from that book too. StarWars series also took inspiration from the Ringworld novel book, and has the lore written before Halo game (2001) appear.
As a Gear Head I really appreciated the build process of the fighter😂 never thought I would hear “Bolt On Aftermarket Performance Mods” in Star Wars😂

I have no problem with Mando having Boba's episodes all to himself, because Boba was in the Mandalorian quite a bit and I think he may be in the next season of Mando a lot too.

This was literally an extra episode added on to the original 6, probably one that was filmed before them,(clear budget and production difference) all they would need is the extra Fennec Shand cameo, I don't think we'll see him visit Grogu yet though, but the hype for season 3 is pretty nuts now.
I get the feeling this was originally meant to be an early episode of Mando3 and would have been a cross over ep (like when Angel would show up in Buffy at end of an ep and it would pick up with Buffy would be in the next Angel ep( yes I’m revealing my age with that as a comparison)), but the schedule is all out of sync, so it was re-tasked as a BoBF ep.

It's like he sees Grogu everywhere. First in the admittedly adorable Rodian kid, then in the present for Grogu that happens to look exactly like his head. I get it show, he misses Grogu.

I love that she can speak Jawa. I don't know if we have time to go visit Grogu and tie up the series in two episodes. If you visit Grogu, you're going to want that to be the episode right? It'll feel shoehorned in otherwise. And wasn't the original "Wizard" spoken by Kitster in Episdoe I? And play Fallen Order already, it was a great game!
Just putting it out there, but a 'Halo' is only a 'Halo' in the actual Halo universe. In most other universes, they just call it a Ringworld.

I still wholeheartedly stand by the second comment I made. My heart and soul lies with Din and the other Mandos. Yes even after s3. Perhaps more so cuz now we have Bo in the picture as a prominent character. But that N1 scene was meant to have danger zone put over it. Din’s a fly boy and mod head at heart and I’m freaking here for it! This and s3 made me realize how good a pilot he actually is. Him and Bo. It’s quite impressive actually.
I think his visit to see a "little friend" will be saved for Mandalorian Season 3. Chapter 6 will have him arrive in Boba's Palace.

Yeah, I think Din will mention his trip to see Grogu in episode 6, but we will witness it happen in Mandalorian season 3.

My first exposure to this channel was Mando season 2 ep 8 and when Adam said “check his hands” and “that narrows it down a little bit” I knew this was the place for me.
