I tried this transition out on a practice set and listened back to the recording. It is slick as hell. So much smoother than when I was using just the bottom filter passes.
This is what I've been waiting for!!! Thanks so much for the tips, I am older and trying to self teach myself some Dj skills and your videos are helping me Tremendously 👍
Works so well, especially if you don’t know the tracks that well as the control over the mids helps avoid vocal clashes. Love it. Just did a mash up mix and worked brilliantly for every mix
It’s like learning how to read or write it takes ages to get it for some people other people get it right away and a lot of practice and a bit of confidence that you can do it I believe in you!!! Your allowed to it’s ok it makes people happy and that’s a good thing don’t worry about what people think!!! You’ve got this!!! 💖💖💖
May the Lord Almighty be with you at every point your need. Every of ur heart desires, may all of them come to fruition in Jesus name. Amen. God bless you.
Swapping the low freqs like that may make the mix a bit dry. It's better to put down the track that is leaving at lvl 9 and start playing with both track's low freqs also with the track that is entering at lvl 9, then when you have the groove you want top lvl the track that is entering. That will make the mix sound complete at all times
A song is broken down into sections called phrases. These phrases are many times know as pre-chorus, chorus, verse, bridge, outro, etc. Basically whenever something changes in the music that’s when a new phrase will begin. So when he said “on phrase” he’s talking about when the next phrase comes in he’s going to swap the bass.
You don’t have to beat match on the latest equipment it’s all done for you. That’s why there is so many supposed it DJs on CZcams right now all you have to do is press a button - how sad !
@@maciomacio8745 I know a little bit how to dj and this video is useless, there is no context...you have to create your mixing style and not just doing the same 4/5 things on every track

Removed too much highs and mids from the first track it kills the energy
Yeah, to be fair that was a perfect blend 👏🏼
Brilliant
Very helpful
Thank god I’m not the only one this only doesn’t work if the song your mixing in has a huge baseline that needs to be heard to recognize the song
your always make me learn something new dj phil
Fair play mate, this is exactly how I mix
Well explained
Amen! Will someone pray for me please. Thanks!

Great tutorial format.. thank you
Amazing advice
It really supporting well for us rasing dj
I must try that, I usually have the highs and mids at the 10 o clock position, then slowly switch the highs, then mids, then on phrase swap the basses
Good stuff👍
Thank you so much 🙏

❤🎉
That’s how we all do 😂
Easy and efficient ...
Slick
What genres of music does this typically work for?
🎉🎉🎉😮
Can you do this with hardtechno???
What if there is vocals in both tracks ? Would you just find a part of the track where is none ?
Ok, so each if those panels represents a track you have loaded?
thanks for the video. what is name of the second track - the one being mixed in?
The second track is Afrojack - Bassride (Extended Mix) 😉
@@floweiss9746 thanks man!
What tune was u mixin in?..
Carefull w the hight
I think the confusing part as a beginner is doing it the other way around xD lol
What are both songs
Is “on phrase” the dj way to say “on beat”?

You can space those steps over 32 or 64 beats and have a longer transition.
Unbelievable. Smh 🤦🏻♂️
I was doing everything apart from the bass swap 🤦♂️

Just EQ by ear
Why not mix with filter effects at this point? Don't get me wrong, I like this technique, just unsure how different this is?
this doesnt work for spanish/mexican music.
Why not ?
Is this not how people usually blend and mix tracks?
imo it's a pretty basic transition, but not bad! it's a solid base to build your own style out of it.
Это только если ты играешь техно
Ummm...ok.
Just show us the beat match please
Half of your knob handling is for nothing
Clearly can’t see what he’s doing, he’s not turning it down too fast otherwise you’d hear it more prominently
The bass transition can be way better 💀
We was doing this technique in the 90’s. Learn some new skills
Lol he’s teaching people new to Djing!!!!
