Nice to see ya back Clayton. Love hook & line flounder-fishin'! A longtime Flounder-giggin' friend gave me a 1st time, on-hand tutorial of St. Augustine "stickin" back in June! It had a very important, impactful message = Most fish that are hit WILL die!!☠ His keen, experienced eyes were unbelievable! He would NOT even let me stick a fish that was marginal(in his eyes). We managed NINE from 15 - 19 " 's. It was definitely a FUN but learned experience that left me with a skeptical viewpoint. The giggers aren't held accountable for killed, undersized fish. Again, welcome back!
I've been gigging for over 30 years and I may have killed 4 maybe 6 fish that I thought was of size and was not . i can not STAND when people gig a fish and don't know if its big enough . I know shit happens sometimes but if you thank it may not be big enough let it go . I only use a 1 prong gig and sometimes I use a 2 prong gig so when I stick a fish it's always in the head and it's gonna die so no chanch in letting it go if it's to short so I will not gig it unless I know for sure it's good to go in the box . I'm a meat hunter and that goes for fish deer hogs whatever I'm doing not for sport . I would rather gig and Spearfish if I'm able to but I love catching fish with a pole as well .i do agree with you on the fact that people that don't know what they are doing will kill a bunch of fish for no reason when gigging but I've seen people do the same digging hooks out of fish and letting them go so the moral of the story is they all need to learn what they're doing before they go through it.
Florida ya'll did that quick but com'on man we are Floridians and unless you're just eating a Guava in any recipe you gotta strain the seeds out. Even in some tomatoe recipes you don't have tomatoe seeds in it.
I saw a guy put his landing net in front of small flounder and touch the flounder in the tail and most of the time the fish would shoot rite into the net you could measure without sticking the fish
I like how you scale your fish. Great video. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!

Thank you, sorry for the late reply. I have heard St.Augustine is great for flounder, hoping to get up that way.

Thanks for the tip!
If you add a ziptie 14 inches long to your gig you wouldn't gig any under.
Thanks for the idea
Hey man is there any way I can contact you privately?
