Building a Faux Timber Box Beam

A time lapse build video highlighting how we built our box beams. These beams are made from 3-2x12's, and screwed to the underside of the floor joists to cover steel I-beams. Fir was chosen as a material to match the Fir Timbers throughout the rest of the home.
3/8" dowels aligned the 3 pieces, and wood glue bonded them together.
Not shown in the video are 8 Steel 2"x2"x3/16" angles screwed to the inside of the beam for extra reinforcing.
