On the left at 17:12 you can see “curving” of the lower branches of a tree, classic sign of excessive exposure to radiation in trees. Many of the trees in the red forest have extreme examples of this.

they get really hot/warm and burn for hours (I used the gasoline burning one) as in the name, you can just keep it inside your pocket, or sleeping bag.. it's a great heatsorce.

Yeah i used two pocket stoves in the army. One with gasoline and one with little sticks made of char coal.
Both were a blessing in winter.
Helps a bit drying your sleeping bag and clothes too.

something to note is that they produce carbon monoxide, so only use in open spaces

The word 'Ghost Town' means it's inhabitable. People don't live there, so it's considered a 'Ghost Town'. You are basically saying, if an amusement park is abandoned, and people start going there for photography, it's no longer abandoned.

Well, probably because of the Setting. HL2 uses the architecture of different Eastern European cities and a bit of Baltic Europe. Many of them still have buildings left after the Soviet Union reign. So, no wonder that Ukrainian city or some Russian city would look close to that). He even said that those buildings remind him of his hometown in Lithuania and it was also affected by SU. I once watched a Half-life 2 fan-made film where the setting for city 17 turned out to be a Riga with combine buildings added. And people were saying that its identical.

in fact there were several attempts to lock people out of that famous basement like filling the stairs up with sand/gravel - but it's about the drug war: people want it - so they dug it up again
so I guess as a "permanent" solution they have to fill it with concrete like the sarcophagus itself - it's unlikely that anyone would take the risk to remove the hot stuff from the basement - just because a) it would be a huge undertaking and b) where to go with it? open the sarcophagus and throw it in there?

I am pretty sure all the cars and the helicopter was a film crew for a documentary! Ive been watching tv documentary's, and the cars all match those in the show and the helicopter explains the sky footage! Also, the timing all matches up with when and where they all went!

The first half of the video with people besides them walking on the territory, cars passing by (sadly not UAZ), grey, cloudy weather, them being inside a high building close to the top, helicopter flying around gave me really strong CoD:MW vibes.
