Is the atemu necessary only for the obd2’s or is it something that should be used regardless of obd1 or 2 ?
Hmm that's a good question. I know only that the ATEMU is used for any Toyota / Lexus auto transmissions which were available for UZ / JZ equipped vehicles since 1998.
Maybe contact the manufacture of the ATEMU to get that answered: all4swap.ru/product/atemu
